Vivo Xshot (X710L) CWM recovery - Android

Hello
Someone else managed to port CWM (Cofface recovery) for Vivo Xshot a few month ago but it is in chinese. It's kind of annoying to use a tool in chinese so I decided to try to port CWM in english. I somehow managed to do it after a lot of reading and research around here but it still has some problems and I need your help.
I commited the code to github: github.com/mishyf/device_bbk_x710l
If some of you have time, maybe you can help me finish this port.
There are a few bugs:
1) recovery.img does not boot (strage because if I create the zip file and install it, cwm is loading).
2) update.zip works but has a very small resolution.
There is an attached picture in order to better understand the problem:
3) after reboot cwm is replaced by the recovery running before cwm flash.

are there any roms for this phone ???

There is a MIUI rom ported for Xshot but it is not for the Ultimate version. I tried it on my Ultimate version but the launcher crashes after lockscreen. It seems that it works only for Elite version.
I searched for other roms but did not find any other.

Use TWRP, its in english already..

[Q] problem with app, files ...

Hi guys,
i have some wierd problems.
- when I install or uninstall an application, it works but when i reboot my cell phone the applications installed are gone and the ones uninstalled are back.
- when i copy a file through webdav from my HD and when i reboot, the file is gone.
I don't have SD card everything is on the internal memory.
I already tried the "android recovery" with the power buton and the volume buton but nothing changed.
the ROM version, 2.3.4, on my cell phone is coming from motorola France.
can you help me ?
should i try to flash again my cell phone ?
Is it possible that the internal memory is locked ? if yes how can i unlock it ?
thanks for your help
Try SDMaid to clear remaining files of uninstalled apps. If this does not work, reflash your recovery, it might be corrupted, best recovery is the CWM, its pretty much compatible to most roms. There is also TeamWIN's recovery which is touch based recovery which is quite good to.

CWM is basically Clockword Recovery Mod by RomRacer, you should be able to install original ROM. Just download it from the Motorola Website the rom will have its own setup built-in so you can run the update directly through the computer and should be fine.

[Q] CM 11 EXPERIMENTAL NiGHTLY - Error status 7

------------- SOLVED! --------------
Hello all,
First of all I want to say I'm pretty new to flashing ROMs etc.
Currently I'm at stock 4.3 Jellybean and I want to flash my SGS3 to the new CM 11 ROM.
I rooted my phone following this tutorial: vvvvvv.telefoonrooten.nl/samsung/samsung-galaxy-s3-root/ (sorry if its in Dutch, but it uses the CF-Root-SGS3-v6.3 and Odin).
After I rooted I copied both the CM11 ROM and GAPPS to my external SD, I went to recovery and tried to install the new custom ROM but I got an error (status 7) and it was aborted.
Also if I try to reboot it won't boot normally as it should be but it goes back to recovery mode automatically...
I fixed to get back to Jellybean by flashing the stock rom (unrooting?) it via Odin.
Anyone else got the exact same problem as I do and knows a solution to be able to flash CM 11?
Thanks in advance,
Steelbear

please read the thirst post in a rom/kernel/whatever thread. and maybe if you havent done it already you should also read the stickies in general section.
FAQ (Read before post !!)
- If you obtain Error 7 when you tried to install ROM in CWM or TWRP
Install the latest version of CMW or TWRP

BTW latest philz touch recovery works too
Since you went back to stock and you already know how to root, I suggest you go to Play Store and download ROM Manager to help you install latest CWM recovery on your device.
Or you can simply go to CWM website, pick the version of the recovery for your phone and flash it via Odin.
Hope it helps.

Indeed it worked! I found it out myself yesterday. Went to the CWM site and downloaded the latest version (6.0.4.4.) and flashed it through Odin. But thanks for your input anyways (to all who replied) !
An alternative solution that I often use is to open the Updater Script in META-INF folder in the ROM's zip and delete first lines, where it gets device model as property.
Obviously it's an UNSAFE operation (because that lines avoid to install ROMs of other phone on mine) but when I'm sure that ROM I've downloaded is for my phone I do it and it works

Hello There,
I was in same curiosity and spent lot of time about it... until finally I had found a MIUI v5 Ported ROM and install is as easy as you do on HTC phone like put that .zip file into your card root and then flash with recovery... Follow the procedure as mentioned below:
1- First install any recovery on your phone (just do google search about how to install Recovery on Pantech Vega phone)
2- Go to this page to download ROM: http://knowledgesharingviaweb.blogspot.com/2014/03/collection-of-miui-ported-roms-for.html (search through your browser 'a860' and download)
3- Place this .zip file into your SD card on root.
4- Go to recovery and first take backup of your current ROM into your SD card (don't take into Internal memory)
5- Clear your cache and other stuff...
6- install rom..
hope I have helped you in a classical way..

I got a new phone with android 4.4.2 China honor 3 (fake), after uninstalling some China app the operation system started to stuck at logo at the start.
So to solve the problem i red that i could restore the old OS using ROM file. The factory where i bought the phone sent me the official ROM file for my phone.
Now i entered on Recovery mode, first i did "wipe data/factory reset", then with ADB i loaded the file .zip "adb sideload update.zip". But how the file is uploaded it says "Installation aborted", without any error.
So now i need your help how can i restore this system... I tried also to buy an SD card 8 gb and upload the file on the SD, but same error.
Thank you for your help!

2 - The phone is not rooted. (i think)
3 - I can enter in Restore Mode and Factory Mode.
4 - I got the official ROM file. (the factory gave me it)
5 - All file zip (that i try to use in recovery from SD or ADB) give me "Installation aborted" without any error.
6 - I haven't USB DEBUG enabled, and i can't enable it cause i can't load the Operation system.

the best place to go for any rom for china phones is needrom just google it. I had a jiake v8 phone and this was the only place where i was able to find rom for my phone. good luck ....
I face the same prob!
I have a canvas 2.2 a114 which I bought a few days back . I had been using it very smoothly(not rooted and is new). But suddenly it started to reboot and was stuck at the canvas logo. I have the rom file, but it simply says "Installaton aborted when I load the zip file. help plz! Thanx.
guys the best way to do this is to go to youtube. Find how to port rom to mtk devices or china phones there are plenty of videos. It will be much easier for you to do something when you see how someone is doing it and then you do it for yourself. I have a jiake v8 pphone and this is what i did is not that easy to explain much easier to see.
you can try reflashing the stock rom (You May not lose data) or you can install the stock recovery

Galaxy J1 SM-J100H: ClockworkMod?

can someone help me?
I want to install an android lollipop 5.1.0 rom on my device samsung galaxy j1 sm-j100h, but I don't know what is the ClockWordMod that is compatible for my device?
Thanks.
I'm not sure a working custom recovery is readily available for your device. Nothing came up via searching here or on Google. Typically, even if it's posted in another language, Google will still find the phrase "CWM". Are you sure that the Lollipop rom you are looking at is for your device? If so, the developer should have installation notes, which should include what recovery to use, or others that are watching the post usually comment on that type of thing.
I made one yesterday http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-twrp-2-8-7-0-samsung-galaxy-j1-t3223994
hmm......
How about the lollipop rom for this device?
