Xperia z2 problems (rooted 4.4.4) - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i've got this problem with my phone where it seems to think that i'm touching the screen whenever i lie on my side or when its plugged in and charging.
The problem is that it thinks that i'm touching the screen when i'm not. I've tried holding it differently as well as just putting it down on a flat surface, but no matter what i do it just seems to mess up. The main cause of this problem is when i type, but i've also had the problem where the touchscreen just turned itself off and the only way i could resolve it was to remove the sim, which made it automatically reboot.
Has anyone had this problem or does anyone know how i might fix this problem?
Thanks.

sounds like a hardware issue
try contacting sony repair centre

I had the same issue but it was only there if i used a generic charger ( not the original sony one) or some of the computer systems( not all of them) , for charging my phone.
Try using a different charger and usb cable.

[Q] Brick or hardware failure?

Hi guys,
I bought a second hand mini pro, and flashed (rooted, unlocked bootloader)it with the help of one of the several guides. with Simplexity and MiniCM7
It seemed to work fine at first, but now something odd happens.
I can only turn the device on (working) when I keep the keyboard slided out. When I start up with it slided in, The screen is turned on but no image appears: It stays black.
When it is turned on (slided out) I can use the phone normally. But when I slide it back in, the screen is frozen and won't react to touches.
Putting the phone in and out of standby (slided out) will have two possible outcomes: Either its usable as normal. Or it simply won't come out of standby at all. The phone seems to react (sounds) to pressing the buttons on the keyboard though.
I used Seus and manual methods to reflash to stock, try other kernels, but the problems remain.
I think it's the hardware that's failing but maybe this can be caused by the flashing as well?
Are there any methods to rule out one or the other?

I'm responding to the thread's title : It's a hardware failure.Brick means you can't even power it on/flash mode.If I helped click the "Thanks" button. Also, try using nAa-11 my and x10man's ROM called XMP Rom and tell us if you still have this problem.I understand that you posted this here (If you post it in questions section almost no one will respond )so I won't tell about that.
(Oh, my bad. Mods feel free to move my thread)
I was afraid of that. I'll try your ROM as well, but I'm afraid its the hardware too.
Thankfully I only paid 30 euros for it
I think the flex cable is gone bad, i have the same problem here. My mobile doesnt respond to any touches. First it happened only when i would slide the keyboard. But now its dead as a whole

The XMP rom didn't fix it, so I guess you're right. Would a flex cable (those are the flat orange ones right?) be expensive?

I hope you fix it
This is the cable we are having a problem with, i have given my mobile for replacing this stuff as i couldnt get this locally. This board houses the LCD and the digitizer and the buttons connect to this. The black cable goes to the motherboard. Its pretty simple to take apart the phone, but take care while doing so. Another thing its that, when you are opening the display panel, its better to use a guitar pick instead of a screwdriver and open it at the latches, that would avoid damage to the outer plastics.

Please elaborate.....
What is this elebrate? bro touch is laggy. what elebration will do? for example while scrolling a page or switching between homescreens.
Actually, touchscreen lag often occurs when you connect the charger when the source of current is a bit flaky,ie, due to the loose flow of current, the normal touch sensors cant detect your fingers properly and make mistakes. I dont think its ICS here at fault and more likely the charger or the current source.
I have same problem after rooted.
my xperia st23i aka miro always wrong touch while charging, but no if i charging use pc.
I use official ICS rom.
Any solution please...

Charge voltage runs on the screen so you can't really touch. That problem is rare. What chargers did you guys use? Just let me know. Please use official charger

This problem usually occurs when you use a charger with a higher voltage or mAh. The screen actually becomes extra sensitive due to the way capactive touchscreen works. As such, your touches seem to turn random and uncontrollable. Using the charger that came with your phone would resolve this problem.

Well, I haven't been having this issue at all. Do you use any thirdparty charger? If so, try with the original one which came with the phone, sometimes thirdparty chargers and microusb cables can interfer with the touch.

Touchscreen becoming unresponsive while wall charging

Guys I have a strange problem with my lumia 920 (unlocked India version with portico update). I purchased it 3 days back. When I use the phone while it's connected to the wall charger sometimes it's touchscreen becomes unresponsive. Then I have to lock and unlock the phone using the power button after which everything again becomes normal. This happens quite a few times while charging.
Other than the above mentioned problem my phone froze once for which I had to do soft reset.
I want to ask is this happening with me only or others are experiencing it too.
And is there any solution to it?? Should I take it to Nokia care??
Thanks in advance.....

That's weird. I remember my HTC Titan's screen became unusable when low battery, screen just didn't register any input. You should call Nokia Care.

Are you using the original Nokia charger or one by another manufacturer? I'm having a similar issue with the screen only stuttering behind my finger but only when loading it using the Samsung Charger that came with my SGS2.
That's pretty common I guess. My Titan, HD2, Galaxy W, Xperia S have all had this problem when charging with a BlackBerry charger. Could be an incompatible charger or damaged one. I suggest you immediately change it so you don't damage your device.
I had the same issue with the 920, was replaced by the store I purchased it in.
Thanks guys for the suggestion...

I think you should to change the charger because i was same problem when i used the china charger to charge my galaxy s3
I think this is pretty normal.. i had this with all my capacitive touchscreen phones... i think it has to do something with the electrical grounding when you charger is connected...
Try to disable USB Debugging - that helped for me with another phone.

[Q] Touch response during charging

Yesterday I purchased this awesome phablet but I found few bugs.
I already updated to 14.1.B.1.510
1) screen of death -2 times.(volume down + power key help me to reboot)
2) Touch response during charging is very weird..
3) I never saw such a ugly camera.
So I Want To Know Should I Replace It OR its software fault
54 views but no response. Friend please let me know this is hardware fault or software fault.
When I put my mobile on charging screen touch becomes less responsive.
Anyone facing this problem
Please reply me it's very costly mobile...
And is there any permanent solution for SOD.( screen of death)
1. Try ticking the optimized backlight setting, or turn off adaptive brigthness, or factory reset, or repair via pcc. Or claim warranty.
2. No not for me, still sensitive enough I don't see noticable difference when charging. Try charging it in different place (other than your home or something) or try using another charger.
3. Yes, downright ugly.

2. I remember reading about a lot of Note owners having trouble with the touchscreen while charging. Not sure if it got fixed through an update, but it never got mentioned again (as far as I know), which has to be a good sign?

From the first day it was reported no one truly knows whether it was software or hardware. Firmware update seems to make a lot of reports die down, but not all - making it likely to be software. The trigger seems random and varying it suggests it could be hardware for some.
Hell, no one knows. I never had sod in my old fw (461 and 475, but I used it only for a very short time) but on 510 (wiped clean) I do experience occasional "fake death" issue, but I only need to press the power button two times max to wake up the device. So well, maybe its not even sod.

My previous phone was huawei with amoled, and the sensitivity while charging was very bad. Turns out every device was like that. My zu isn't, clearly. Wonder if the OP's case is really that bad.

I currently use the Galaxy Note 1 running on Jellybeer (custom ROM) and will be going for the Ultra LTE (100% sure no backing out.. lol)
2. Weird touch behavior while charging is present on the Galaxy Note.. I am using my Original charger + Cable and I notice that it is not really sensitive whenever I use it while plugged in.. Worst is at the middle and gets better as you go out to the edge of the screen. (problem gets amplified if I get into skin contact with anything that has direct contact with the ground)
I suggest trying out a different cable or socket as it seems like your body and the charger gets grounded to earth somewhat.
Try using your Ultra while touching the wall or standing barefoot on cement and see if it gets worse..

[Q] [HELP] Xperia Mini Pro Broken Screen

Hello! So my Xperia Mini pro has been broken, it doesn't show any image anymore, I think there is a problem with the screen but I want a confirmation or recommendation to find out what the problem is.
First the screen "touch" capability stopped working, and then two weeks after that, the back and option buttons stopped working too. And a week after that ,there was like a screen "flickering" (I tried to recreate the problem in the attached image) when I tried to either open or close the slider.
Finally the screen stopped working anymore. I tried to connect the phone to the PC but says that windows cannot recognize the hardware. And there's one more thing: I can turn on the phone, it vibrates, but the keyboard lights seems that are not working, they are permanently off.. and when I try to Increase the volume it doesn't sound either... There is only the black screen and a backlight.
Please Help me to find out what is the problem, I'm thinking to buy a screen replacement on eBay, but some people told me that is the "flex" cable. I'm not sure if there is a fix for my phone's problem.
Thanks!
Hey there.
Based on my experience, yes, your problem is most likey a flex ribbon issue. Your flex has been ripping apart lately, causing many of its wires to break. This can cause a lot of unpredictable problems, such as a misbeheaving notification LED, inactive ambient light sensor, or "dead" display/touch digitizer. Your problems have gotten worse over time, which is clearly a symptom of a broken flex.
You phone is no longer booting up to android because the kernel no longer detects a proper "response" from the display driver and halts the bootup. This is why you can feel the phone vibrating when pressing the power button, but nothing else happens. Your screen assembly is fine, I can assure you that, unless your glass is broken, of course.
Here's one hell of a good teardown guide: http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Sony+Ericsson+Xperia+Mini+Pro+SK17i+Teardown/7275
I used that very same guide when I repaired my own xmp. I regret messing with my screen assembly because I destroyed it and had to buy a new one, which is costly
Thank You so much for the advice ! Now I'll try to repair it, It doesn't seem too difficult. Thank You Again!!!
