which S5 clone did they sell me? Please help recognize - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hy to all.
I've bought a S5 clone at a very cheap price.
the model should have been 1:1 2Gb/16Gb mtk 8 cores 1920x1080.
I payed a very cheap price including shipping with tracking, but what I've received is veryfar from what the seller told me.
I've recognized only that is quad core and has resolution 480x854. Have got doubt on the memory as many apk gave me different results (many took the fake datas from the sytem).
The problem is that I want to install a new rom, to avoi some problems and try to have better performance (Antutu gave me something more than 20000), but if I don't know the manufacturer and model I cannot choose the right rom. The device is 1:1 clone, so all brands and details are perfect.
I post here some photos (some of the many programs I downloaded to recognize the model) hoping someone could recognize it or give me a hint to recognize it.
thanks in advance

[Q] Custom ROM for Superpad II model: 'SAWEE10' ?

I bought this tablet:
Link: http://www.aliexpress.com/product-g...220-Super-Pad-HD-10-2-Tablet-wholesalers.html
And found out that it is a knockoff of the original ibex FlyTouch 3. This tablet model number is : SAWEE10. Instead of Disco10 or disco. I was wondering if there is any chance of running a custom ROM on it.?
The original flytouch comes with an 8000mAh battery while this comes with a 5600mAh battery.
If there is no chance of a custom ROM, can I even root this device and make a ROM backup so that I can try removing useless apk's? I think there might be an internal microSD card that contains the ROM, so I am planning on making a copy of it and then messing around with it.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!
Hey did you ever find out what you can do with that knockoff you have? I have the same one and can't find anything on the net. Everyone in the forums tell me to return the tablet. That's not a challenge to me
I received it and found out that the Model number is : SAWEE10. It auto shuts off every 30 minutes or so. Playing back 720p mkv's are no problem, but gaming lags and games like raging thunder misread the accelerometer data, so it cannot be used. But Doodle Jump works fine
But no custom ROM for this model???
Sadly, none yet. But the stock ROM is not that bad as it is. I will open mine up soon and make a backup of the internal MicroSD card. Then I am going to remove all the useless apps and junk that comes preloaded.
What app are you using for "system info" I see from the site you got your tablet from, it has a ARM11 cpu. The site I got mine says the same, but when I run this info app I got, it says I have a ARMv6 in mine. Maybe thats why its so damn slow. It also says 791Mips
ARM11 CPU's are based on the ARMv6 architecture. Just like how the Galaxy S2 is an ARM Cortex A9 based on the ARMv7 architecture.
The app I am using is called 'Android System Info' : https://market.android.com/details?id=com.electricsheep.asi&hl=en
If you refer here: http://cnmaxever.com/blog/armv6-arm11-chips-telechips-tcc8902-infotmic-imapx200-zenithink-zt-180/
You will find that 1MIPS is 1.2MHz. Mine is the Infotmix IMAPX200 and says 839MIPS. So it is running at 1GHz.
Mind sharing the link you bought yours from?
I know it might be a little slow, but the multimedia performance is better than my old laptop with a 1.4GHz pentium 4 with 2GB of RAM.
Playing 1080p mp4 music videos and 720p mkv's through HDMI out is no problem at all. And games like Fruit Ninja, Angry Birds and Cut the Rope run quite well.
If you want to improve your touchscreen responsiveness, use this: https://market.android.com/details?id=br.shop4apps.touchscreenbooster.com&hl=en
Thanks for the links. That touchscreen booster made a big difference.
Here's the link where I got mine from. I can't remember the vendor, but there are
several hundred. I also just ordered some 7" models.
SORRY WON'T LET ME POST THE LINK I GOT THIS MESSAGE
"To prevent spam to the forums, ALL new users are not permitted to post outside links in their messages. After approximately eight posts, you will be able to post outside links. Thanks for understanding!"
It came from dhgate dot com. just do a search for 10.2 1ghz 512mb tablets and you will get several hundred vendors.
If I can figure out the vendor I will re-post it to you. But I would not buy from
again, had a hard time with the seller on some issues. But there are plenty of
others to choose from.
I also ordered and received the original 10.2" Ibex tablet, but not able to play with it yet since it came to me with a cracked screen. Waiting for the screen replacement.
Yeah, new members cannot post links. You need 8 posts to post links.
I like the tablet a lot actually. I got mine at a crazy cheap price, so I don't really care. The Ibex one costs a bomb(almost twice of what I paid for mine). At that price I would rather save a bit more and buy myself the Galaxy Tab 10...
And like I said, the stock ROM is not that bad. It can be improved with other apps and task killers.
So you are giving up on your first tablet and moving onto the Ibex one?
No I still like the knock off. And as you said the Stock ROM is not bad at all. If I can't find the app on its favor of Market, I just download the app as a apk file and then install it. Most of the time they work. I did open mine up and there isn't a sd memory card in it. I just got the new touch screen for the Ibex and replaced that over the weekend and flashed it with the Tim6a. Works fine. The Ibex did have a removable sd card inside. Also just got 2 7" tablets from the same place as the knock off. They are 1ghz processor 1gig memory and 8gig drive space. I really love the 7" ones. Very fast, really touch sensitive screens and much faster over all. Now I'm looking to see what trouble I can do with them as well
Wow, the 7'' ones have 1GB of RAM? That is huge!!.
I opened up mine too, and found the MicroSD card in it. Had to delete a bootnimation that was preventing it from coming on, so I used a virtual machine booting puppy linux to access the EXT3 partitions.
And the 7'' ones will always be smoother, because the resolution is so much lower than the 10'' ones.
Yeah I think I like the 7" ones much better for now. I even just ordered another one from this place. Its 1.5ghz and has ICS 4.0 Beta on it. So I wana play with that now too
http://www.merimobiles.com/Teclast_P76ti_1_5GHz_CPU_HDMI_8GB_7inch_5_points_p/meri0709.htm
Cap. Screen for only $119. Don't know what Im gona do with all these tablets LOL
Haha, lucky you. I am sticking with my 10'' because it is fantastic for watching movies right off a thumbdrive. And it plays it equally well when outputting 1080p to my TV.

[Q] Gigabyte GSmart Maya and Gsmart Rio - any experience and reviews?

It seems that our phone market here (in Croatia) has recently been updated with some brands i haven't seen before - Gigabyte and Prestigio. I know them as tablet and/or computer peripherals manufacturers, but i haven't really known that they also made phones.
My friend bought a Prestigio phone a few months ago and he is satisfied with it, although i can't get any detailed infos from him since he only uses it for calls and angry birds when he's on the toilet
Today i noticed two Gigabyte phones that are both packed with features and seem to be a good bargain, considering price and what is stated as phones' specs. Here are the two ones i noticed:
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=5400&idPhone2=5401
I'm wondering has anyone had any experience with these phones? For the price, (a little more than €200 - a really good price for that kind of phone here) they almost seem too good to be true. I was also wondering what's the real difference between the processors? Both of them have 1gHz dual core, but the Rio model (cheaper and weaker) has Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon, and the more expensive Maya model has MTK 6577. I have heard of Snapdragon before, and i think it should be a good processor, but i have no information on the latter one.
Oh, and maybe it's good to note that the cheaper, Rio model comes with android 4.0, with no possibility of upgrade, and Maya comes with 4.1
Anyways, what should I expect of these phones? Should I consider buying any of them at all? Did anyone try to root them and put any custom rom on them?
also, this model popped into my eyes... also a gigabyte phone:
http://www.gsmarena.com/gigabyte_gsmart_gs202-5174.php
I bought RIO R1 yesterday so its quite new for me, but as I used many android phones I can compare it quite well.
I can compare it to htc desire, wildfire s, sensation and many others
so the biggest problem is battery drain, but Im used to charge battery often so its not so big deal for me.
problem is with headphones, only the ones packed with phone works ok, but I will try more of them (htc headphones start music application and radio is only mono)
phone is little bit laggy but Im trying to get rid of apps I dont want.
root was easy done in 5 minutes and the most of the time was used for searching for right drivers and software.
I found CWM but its for A30 and phone does not show anything in recovery mode. I tried [email protected] but got nothing. I will try to search and play with it.
both sim cards work great (only one sim can be used for hi-speed internet, second one is only on edge), you can choose the time to choose from which card will you call or use predefined.
you can set own ringtone for every sim card and if you get sms or call you can see on which sim card.
I installed all apps from my htc desire and its much faster but I have problem with my favourite launcher - action launcher. I will try nova launcher as I have paid version.
Im waiting for 4.1 or higher or maybe I will also try to compile it for tests.

[Q] Mistaken or Had? MTK6577

Any and All,
I recently purchased an Android Note II at a market. I knew the phone was from "overseas". The box shows 5.5" QHD, Quad Core CPU 1gig ram etc.
Later after using the phone I noticed that it was not working as expected. Using some play store apps, the hardware reads dual core cpu 512megs of ram. The chipset is the MTK6577.
Is it possible I got a phone with incorrect firmware for the model or did I get ripped off? The MTK6577 seems to be popular and used in many phones. Could someone have mistakenly flashed a MTK6589 with the MTK6577 and have a result of a working but half as powerful phone?
Is there a way to tell with absolute certainty what my phone is? The IMEI Numbers are correct and shows MODEL S7100.
Thanks very much in advance. I know I am probably grasping but if you don't ask...
jason
you got tricked on this market. you can never be sure to get what you was buying, all those boxes are printed with wrong informations. surely you got a mt6577 no mt6589, sorry. to gain iformations of your device, make a screenshot of your -> settings -> about device tab and post it here.

There are many of these "overseas" versions of the Samsung Note II look-alikes. They come in various configurations, CPUs in the MTK65xx series, 1 GB or 512 MB RAM, and so on.
If you bought it from an on-line seller and it is not as described, you could complain and return / get refund, or compensated for the shortcomings.
But if you bought it from a brick-and-mortar shop, then you should return it and get an exchange or refund. I'm sure there are ways to seek legal recourse through the consumer protection organizations.
the IMEI's of chinese devices are not what they meant to be. for example, my device shows IMEI of motorola Razr if i check it online.

Goo phone MTK6582 I6 Plus - Very slow, Do I need To Root?

[HELP] Goophone i6 Plus - Very slow !
Hello my friends, I made a purchase on Dhgate.com a Goophone i6 Plus, the seller said the device was MTK6582 Quad Core and RAM of 1GB. Now he arrived, he found it very slow and downloaded CPU-Z to check, I came across this, MT6572 4 cores and 512MB RAM (Screenshots). I do not quite understand processor, as do, to enable the two nuclei that are "stopped"? As for RAM, the device is consuming almost it all, which is causing crashes on, is there any solution? Help me please, I spent a lot from this unit.
If you have to do root, I do, no problem, except that I can not activate the USB debug option because it use Apple's Settings application.

Sorry, but the Goophone is a very poor iPhone clone, and the spec CPU-Z is giving you correctly matches the i6 Plus model.
The 2 stopped cores merely means they're not being used currently. the 512mb of RAM -will- leave your device almost unusable as it's just not enough. Rooting will not improve the device performance at all.
When buying a lemon, one should not be surprised if the experience leaves a sour taste in the mouth, sorry. If I were you, I'd try to return it for your money back and steer clear of those junk devices in future. Always research your purchases.

Thank you for answering me, what device do you recommend I buy?
I like a lot of iPhone clones, and I see some that are Octa-core, 2GB RAM, TouchID, is it good? One of these costs about 250 USD. But the mine was 120 USD.

Most clones do not really have the hardware they claim to and to be honest your best bet would be to avoid them all together.
Not to mention you will find almost 0 development for them

Hi! I just bought a Goophone i6 plus V3. Everything works fine: sensors, touch ID, Wifi, bluetooth, calls, data and GPS. But as this devices comes from China, Google is banned there, the main issue I have with my phone is GPS Location. It is default China and I can't re-assign it to my country (my ignorance I guess). I can use Maps (this even tracks very fine my route), FB, Whatsapp, Line, Instagram, etc. it runs smoothly, but I am not able to use apps that requiere full location services as Google+, Snapchat or We Heart it, p.e. Since the phone is going crazy trying to lock to China satellites, battery consuption is level God.

BLU Advance A4 Rooting and Custom ROMs

Hi friends, I've got a phone model for the cheapest I could possibly find that was New. Bought it on a whim for $30 on amazon (at the time) not giving too much thought to what value it had hardware-wise as I wasn't planning on using it as a daily driver, instead wanted to just see what the possibilities of it were as a little practice for android rooting and installing custom roms as I'm really not too experienced in the android field, but I wanted to learn.
Apparently I chose the wrong phone to learn on, since this thing has next to ZERO content on these forums or anywhere else on the internet in any capacity as far as reviews, custom development, forum threads, even customer questions.
The main drawback being that trying to look up anything for this phone will give you results for a different BLU model, the BLU Advance 4.0, since they have such similar names. Since I have this BLU Advance A4 here now, I have scoured the internet trying to find anything specifically for this model phone and found nothing, which is frankly surprising given that this was at one point the cheapest and still is one of the cheapest new android phones on amazon so you would think that people would use something like this to learn on without much care for bricking it.
So I'm here to make a thread for this model and for anybody else who has this model who is wondering the same as me. What, if anything, can I do with something like this? Why is there not more discussion about this model? I know there have to be enthusiasts trying to to a lot with little hardware, and a phone like this would be a prime example of a phone begging to have a lightweight rom thrown on it for learning and kicks. I will continue to try and do what I can with it while I wait for responses to this thread, please anybody who has any feedback besides "buy a different phone", give me something. I already to have a phone but I'd like to learn android hacking/customization on a different android phone before risking turning my main driver into a brick and I believe playing around with a cheap throwaway phone to see what it can do will be fun.
BLU Advance A4 (ADVA4)

Excellent plan! Luckily, I found your post before I bought 1 of these phones - so I thank you for this!
Worth noting, I came here hoping to buy this cheap phone as a dedicated music player (running, house audio driver, etc) but am also disappointed (but not really surprised) that there doesn't seem to be any prior effort at rooting or working on custom ROMs.
Edit: Have you tried this, or looking for google hits on hardreset.info, androidmtk.com, and cyanogenmod-roms.apk.cafe (I can't post directly links yet, sorry)? While not much, I did find a few other sites too listing firmware, if you already have the phone it's worth tinkering with it and see if you can get anyway. Good luck, and do report back if you do try!
ando en busqueda es la rom para este smartphone, podrias subirla??
