Maby but if u get bootloops ore random error don't blame the dev.
I tried dirty flashing from crDroid 5.0.2 and no sensors worked gps/compas/light/proximity so I whould do a full wipe.
You can go to cm12 nightly, without wipe. You have to do something first, before that.
Copy, paste:
1.This is an Android 5.0.1 Lollipop-based release - update your third party addons to ensure compatibility
2.The CM backupscript.sh in recovery will ignore and remove incompatible applications from your system partition (these are usually non-CM apps that users have opted to install). You must install a compatible app (or app pack) to regain that functionality
3.You can flash CM12 nightlies directly from CM11 M12 or CM 11 nightlies (no need to wipe), provided you read and followed items 1 and 2
4.Once on CM12 nightlies, you cannot downgrade back to CM11 without wiping – if you are thinking of just exploring the release, then take a backup of your existing installation if you want to go back to it.
5.You’ll need an L compatible recovery
What features does this run in particular have?
Since screen recording was native in kit kat will we see the same for lollipop?
Thanks for your work. You're awesome!
Where can I find the Gapps of CM12??

Only thin I miss is screanrecorder and to edit navbar. Miss my menu button and what my back button to the right. And maby network speed monitor in status bar..
But this is :MOD EDIT: awsome. My phone has never been this fast. Both in 3d and 2d apps

Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.
Other Issues?
Before posting on this thread, make sure of a few things:
Metadata error when flashing? Make sure you have the LATEST ClockworkMod installed. Other recoveries *may* work, but will not be supported here. The reason for this is SELinux. It needs to set metadata on the files and old recoveries (with kernels that do not support SELinux) cannot do this. Make sure your ClockworkMod is at least version 6.0.4.5 or it will fail.
[*]You've utilized the search function of the forums. Nothing irritates me more than lazy people who do not search for an answer before asking.
[*]If you are the only one having a problem. Boot into recovery, wipe data/factory reset, reflash the rom/gapps and nothing else. Boot up and see if the problem persists.
[*]Make sure your post is relevant to this thread. "I'm having problems rooting/unlocking" is NOT relevant here.

The old recovery used a kernel that does not support setting SELinux metadata on your files.
The new recovery has a kernel that will.

12/12 update (lots of 12's!): Lots of goodies in this latest build, such as SELinux Enforcing, Materialized Browser, Materialized MMS.apk (Messaging), and possible mobile data fix. Dan and the rest of the CM team have been hard at work. I also included my cherry-picked commit to increase MMS size to 1.2MB max instead of 300KB and 640x480. I've been running this for a few hours tonight and am a big fan. I did do a clean flash since I figured I was due after running so many dirty builds lately, so YMMV with dirty flashing.
12/15 update: more fixes, APNs are now visible, updated/new vendor blobs, I dirty-flashed from 12/12 to this just fine
12/17 update: more fixes/updates including some to various AV items and Gallery, I dirty-flashed from 12/12 to 12/15 to this just fine
12/23 update: I think lots of Bluetooth audio changes, Android 5.0.2, possible VOIP app (Skype/Hangouts/etc) voice fix among other merged commits since 12/17, dirty-flashing should be OK
01/05 update: 560dpi, lots of commits since 12/23, dirty-flashing is A-OK
My noted issues:
- GPS is slow to lock
- seems like duplexing BT audio and BT phone isn't working (e.g. on phone while running Maps navigation and not hearing any turn-by-turn prompts)
- still finicky mobile data from time to time (run su; killall rild once or twice fixes this)

I've been running a CM12 build I made with some uncommitted cherry picks from Dan since yesterday, and its still a little flaky but you can give it a shot if you want the bleeding edge. Make sure you are running the Philz recovery and make a nandroid before flashing of course. I did not try to root with SuperSU yet either.
I did a wipe of system/data/cache before flashing and did not do a dirty flash, and YMMV.
My noted issues:
- GPS navigation does not update correctly in Maps but "works"
- Mobile data is flakey and sometimes requires reboots to restore it
- MMS not working at least for me
- Facebook causes soft reboots (may be a Lollipop/Facebook issue in general)
- BT phone did not work, did not test audio
- no root
The boot.img is in this ZIP has been bumped manually by me, but you can bump it again if you are the untrusting sort.

First you'll have to make a back up with philz of your current rom before flashing this. Not sure about the modem part. And yes you can restore your backup
Can someone please mirror the download?
I flash roms all the time but I've honestly never used Philz. Someone with experience care to explain how to transition from a TWRP recovery with CM11 to this? Or does Philz = CWM and am I out of the loop?
Thank you!

You flash it the same way you flashed TWRP, just using the PhilZ img file instead of the TWRP img.

Modems were not touched by this ROM. TWRP backups are not compatible with PhilZ backups, but they still be there if you ever revert back to TWRP (or when we get a new Lollipop compatible version of TWRP to flash).

The easiest way to flash philz is to download philz img and place it on your sd card. Then in play store download flashify. While in flashify select recovery image and follow the prompt when your in philz recover pull out battery and reboot back into recover. And wallah bam boom your in philz

Awesome, another android lollipop rom, thanks a bunch. Is there a list of working/non-working things?
Having hard time to install custom recoveries. Sideload isn't working for me via Cynogen Recovery. Renaming the zip to update.zip and apply update from sdcard1 via Cynogen Recovery does nothing or no access to sdcard1. So far there's no network signal with my c6802 and i don't see camera app. Have not install gapps as i couldn't flash any zip in Cynogen Recovery. Wifi and everything else is working perfectly though. Any ideas on the recoveries?

@theinspector Yup the GPS is working fine with the waze and google maps.
The network signal is probably the same problem with the rest of the CM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56071149&postcount=4 This was my fix for CM11 and it work for CM12 for those who are not getting network signal or no imei.
Camera not working.

CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.
IMPORTANT INFORMATIONS
- Root is now disabled by default on CM12.1. To enable it go to Settings>Developer Options>Root access and set to Apps only or Apps and ADB.
- Even if I (Lysergic Acid) don't own an i777, I'm maintaining it officially as everything I do for my i9100 gets to the i777 too, so it's fair enough to open a thread for you guys
We'll not support users and answer questions from users which:
- Are running a custom kernel
- Have flashed mods
- Modified system files
- Didn't follow our instructions
- Are unfriendly

Hi,
I'm currently running Cyanogenmod version 11-20140402-Unofficial-i777 on my SGH-i777. I'd like to update to this Nightly build. Can I use the instructions in OP to update to this Nightly? (Just want to clarify because your OP clearly says "First Time Installation Instructions" but the process looks the same as any other update.)
CM and kernel details:
CyanogenMod version 11-20140402-Unofficial-i777
Kernel version 3.0.64-RB11-Shift-1.1
Thanks for your work on bringing CM 12.1 to the Galaxy S II!
Flashed 07032015 but stuck at cm logo.

Great work but IMO this should have never gone official for the i777. The outgoing call bug is a huge bug.
It would never have passed under Entropy/Cody.
Is there a thread on JIRA for the outgoing call bug? I couldn't find one but would like to contribute by scouring the code (and would like to see what others have done so far).
Build cm-12.1-20150704-NIGHTLY-i777 Install fine on my sgh-i777. Phone bug still there. I used Tasker to toggle the speaker on and off for incoming calls and it seemed to work ok. Build ran cool and stable for the short time I had it install. Surprised with the Cyanogen Recovery limitations, seems like it won't install zip files. Had to use Mobile Odin to flash a kernel to get CWM recovery back to restore backup file.

I thought this bug had been fixed, anyway, I don't have this problem on my i9100, that's probably related to the different mic location of the i777. Sadly without the phone I'm not the best to fix this.

CM recovery installs signed zips only.
^Yeah it's not fixed and really going to be a ***** I think.
i9100 is fine. i777 with the yamahell chip I still think is the problem. Remember Paul from the replicant project? Helped greatly but maybe not so with 5+
The i777 seems to be how many hacks can you stack on top a hack.. ie. hwc
Edit: That Dead show was gooooooooooooood. LA? My emmc was definitely repartitioned.

I'll look in the differeces of the i777 and try something, but I don't promise anything.
The OTAs are block-based in Lollipop btw, that's why it looked like a repartition, but it was not
Latest nightlies will resize the system according to your pit.

Sadly not yet, only through adb. CM recovery is very simple indeed, I think it's made for people that don't even use the recovery
Looking forward to trying this and thanks for the ROM. I wonder if the AJNewkirk mic-swap kernels would have any .ko files that would help the call bug?

Glad to see that finally make it in. I wouldn't want to have to redo that partitioning again.
Are the scripts setup not to have to reflash gapps after every upgrade yet? (it was an issue on the i9100 thread last week -- not sure if it got resolved or if with the block update there is no way to solve it).

The block-based OTAs came in to fix the gapps backup, so yes, it works
The phone runs really well on the latest nightly! Multi tasking is smoother than ever before. Unfortunately I lack the skills, but it would be great if someone (CM? @cyril279, @rogersb11, @Lysergic Acid) could re-pack the stock kernel with a custom recovery.
Edit: unbelievably solid as a rock. Thank you to all the devs over the years that have helped keep this device relevant. This latest nightly from CM is like butter on the SII...I even put the OneplusOne and the Nexus4 on the shelf and threw my sim card back into this phone for the last couple days. Loving it.
The slim kernel is essentially the cm kernel, with TWRP 2.8.7.0
So the quickest solution would be to flash:
CM
SLIM kernel
Google apps
Regarding the call-bug @Lysergic Acid, I'd ship you an i777 if you were in the states, but I fear that international shipping makes it cheaper to buy you one than ship one... Are there any particular logs that could help to identify the issue?

I don't think that a JIRA issue has been filed on this, but it deserves one, along with logs. Jira is designed to centralize and track the progress and effort of specific issues.

^I really doubt they'll ever touch it.
I still think it's the yamahell **** all over again.
OT thanks for Omni that's my dd and runs as nice as you could expect on this phone. Plus twrp. cm recovery is trash and a dealbreaker till they fix it up a bit.

BEWARE:
- Cyril's cm-kernel does NOT currently include the FPbug-fix recently added to CM kernel source.
The kernel that I'm linking to only includes CM commits up through may 2015. I just noticed that CM more recently included the FPbug fix into their source (thanks LA), and my CM kernel does NOT include that (I wasn't paying attention when I switched to the CM kernel source from OMNI). : embarrased :
I'll update and build another within the week.
