Can anyone please point me towards a tutorial to gain simple root access on my Ultra, but stay on stock ROM and continue to receive official over the air updates?
I want to improve the sound and make adjustments to the LED, so I must root in order to achieve that, but otherwise I would have preferred not to root at all, so I am looking for the simplest, least offensive root possible. Thanks.
Read the guides that have already been written. Why should we write yet another?

Hi,
I own a Huawei/Samsung Prism under T-Mobile (running Gingerbread 2.3.6) and I want to gain root access on it to remove bloatware. I have thoroughly searched the internet for any/all rooting techniques, in which none are compatible with my device and/or didn't work. I even looked at a few threads here regarding rooting a Prism phone but found things confusing and not so clarifying.
Does anyone know of an absolutely fool proof way to root this damned thing? Just give me the instructions/any files I need to download and I'll be set. I'm no noob when it comes to technology or following directions. I already have the driver installed, if that's useful info to any of you.
Thanks
Hello all.
Just had a quick question that I hope someone might be able to help me with.
I am thinking of rooting my prime to play with a custom rom or two.
From what I read about rooting it seems like it is just pushing files based on a tutorial I saw.
Does the tablet actually need to be unlocked to root the tablet and install a custom rom or can I just follow that method without unlocking it?
Also if I decide to go back to stock can I flash a image from Asus to make that happen like you can with Odin on Samsung devices?
Thank you in advance and for your time.
Hey guys,
In light of recent findings in the Android realm, most of you should already know about the Quadrooter exploit.
Will it be possible to look into this and make a working root on locked BL? I'm curious and hope someone has the opportunity and knowledge to use this exploit. I will try and help with anything I can (lots of work atm but still..). :fingers-crossed: :fingers-crossed:
This may also help simplify the process of saving DRM keys and make it way easier to root current firmwares. Explanations below:

Is this a real possibility for root with locked BL? Or false hope......

As far as I have read it theoretically should bring at least temporary root (because of dm_verity and Sony RIC we won't be able to touch System partition AFAIK) :/
Temporary root still has value though and regarding that all older firmwares are affected, exploiting should be beneficial nonetheless.
Hello. I am not very familiar with flashing and rooting stuff, so I would like some help (I do not want to brick my phone)
I have the single sim, and nougat 7 installed. So. I have already unlocked my bootloader (and lost my DRM keys, did not backup).
Question 1: There is a thread on how to root it and as far as I understand I need to roll back to android 6, and flash the .img kernel and then it's rooted? The instructions are very unclear, and badly written. Is this the way to root or I'm wrong? There is no root for android 7 yet, right?
Question 2: Is there a way to bring back the lost DRM features of the camera and the x-reality engine? How? I had found a thread saying how to do it some time ago but I've lost it.
I have read a lot of threads but it's not simple enough for me to understand. Any help would make me very happy
I really want to root my lg g8x mainly to install viper4android to get a tiny bit better quality out if the device speakers. Ive searched everywhere and can not for the life of me find an actual method of rooting. Those one click root apps (ei: towelroot kingroot etc have NEVER worked for me on any device, let alone a relatively new one. If anyone has a method of rooting this device pointing me in the right direction would be very greatly appreciated
I don't think LG has released the .bin file to unlock the bootloader. With the bootloader locked, you cannot root just yet.
I too want to root and get out all the bloatware.
