Wanna check before rooting - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HI there. Im new to experia device. just got some things to ask before I proceed on rooting my device.
My device info:
Device: d6503
Firmware: 4.4.4 (23.0.1.A.0.167)
Customization number: 1281-4652 (Germany)
BTW, im using the device here at Philippines, and its working fine
My questions are:
1. Im gonna downgrade to 4.4.2, which firmware should I flash? uhm the one easier to root
2. Is it safe to flash firmwares meant for other countries?will it still work here on our country?i
3.1 more thing, if I flash a branded firmware will I get simlock?
Thanks in advance..
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Free mobile app

1. 314 because this is rootable
2. yes/no, D6503 on D6502 means wifi and mobile data wont work
3. doesnt matter what country, can be flashed across any Z2
3.1 - im not sure but id exclude the simlock file in flashtool before flashing a FTF

I'd wait for a new Kernal based on the new firmware. Also if you unselect "wipe user data" you should keep your data. I did but I lost the root from my phone.
Just make sure you backup first

[ROM] SO-01D 4.0.1.C.1.21 [Japan/.FTF/Multi Language]

After many time trying to find here is the Japanese Xperia Play (SO-01D) Docomo Branded in .ftf format ready to flash using Flashtool.
Tested by me in a 800i device without any problem (i recommend the use of Titanium Backup to "clean" the Rom because have many useless Japanese Apps.)
I'm Using Doomkernel V14 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1176502) and 1.5 Overclock with Antutu Cpu Master

Strange enough, when I try to load the firmware into the latest flashtool 0.8.0.0 it doesnt show the list in wich you can see the parts it will flash. And then when i click flash it seems to cancel it.
EDIT: also on the previous version of flashtool I get the same thing (0.7.1.0)
If I back to stock, probably I will use this ROM as base.
I have 2 question.
1) Can we use Jokawild, Truanchestor (or any Stock based rom) on this rom ?
2) Where can we see the new or old japanese firmwares ?

It's possible now that the ROM is in the hands of XDA. Patience is the key.
Has anyone flashed this and noticed significant improvement over .62?

Not a bad download, problem is with mine too. but here's how I did it.
Use 7Zip to extract kernel.sin and system.sin.
then use flashtool to flash "system.sin" to phone.
i'm using DoomKernel V14 and works ok.

Can't say that I see any perfomance increase. Baseband only control modem so it should only make a difference in gsm signal, not in phone perfomance, that's rom and kernel job.

Hey, anonymous, when flashing this ROM, should I exclude anything? I remember 'TA' should be excluded to avoid sim lock issues...
Since this is for a different model - shouldn't kernel is excluded, I am wondering if I should exclude everything but 'BASEBAND'...?

Check only those two boxes and leave the rest untouched. Also better start flashing with older firmwares like 17.1 or 17.2 which are on Android 4.4 and 5.0 respectively then flash the latest 23.5.A.1.291 all through flashtool.
