[Q] Stuck in bootloop after flashing firmware... - AT&T HTC One (M8)

First i rooted it, and then using HTC M8 toolkit, unlocked the bootloader. Then I installed sunshine and used that to get S-Off. Next, I was going to install the updated firmware, but the guide I used said that I had to have my bootloader locked. So I relocked it and attempted to flash the firmware. After flashing firmware, my device will not load. Stuck on a white htc screen and recovery just shows the red triangle. Here's the link to the guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696282
and the firmware
http://xda7.androidrevolution.org/db_mirror/Firmware/index.php?dir=HTC/HTC_One_M8/1700/

The guide clearly says:
If you are S-OFF ---> no need to re-lock the bootloader.
Essentially, once you are s-off, there is no reason to relock the bootloader.
Also not sure why you are trying to flash 3.11 firmware. What are you trying to accomplish exactly?

[Q] cant unlock bootloader or flash stock rom htc legend help

HI hope someone can help me with this, i have tried without success to unlock my bootloader, i have updated to hboot 1.02 but when i try to do the fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin it sits at 0percent and doesn't move and no errors, i've tried this with my goldcard in and out of the phone and with cyanogen and b08 roms, also for some reason i can't flash the stock rom so i can get the required update from htc(thinking that's y the unlock code won't go), i've tried getting numerous ruu's and i was getting signature verification fails every time, i tried with windows the exe and also exracted the rom.zip and still no luck, i prefer using linux and adb though and tried numerous ways to get this to work with no success, i've also tried signing a rom.zip and the phone just says no signature, also tried renaming to LEGEIMG.zip and update.zip and just can't flash stock rom, also made a new goldcard thinking the other was bad and did the htcdev for the unlock code with a goldcard and without, also tried the ruu.exe in windows with new said goldcard and i think the other was bad because i get a different error now for reason it can't update my rom(was using the rom i originally rooted with which has sense). it says wrong bootloader version when i try and update, anyone know what i can do, i'm running outta ideas, thanks in advance
I Unlocked my bootloader with HTCdev. You said you tried. What went wrong?
If you have updated your phone to one of the ruus HTC gives you ( execute the exe ), there shouldn't be any problem : the HTC guide is clear and easy. If you have successuffly unlocked the bootloader, now you have to flash the clockwork recovery.
when i go to fastboot it stays on copying at 0 percent with the unlock_code.bin....My phone has root access before i ran the hboot update and still does but i can't flash the new ruu, it won't allow me to, i tried running the htc ruu and it fails with can't update, bootloader version incorrect, i tried with the b-08 rom, i can't get back to stock
Have you tried flashing this? ----> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497357
If you don't install one of the updates given by HTC, bootloader unlock won't work. If you have the same problems that I had ( my Legend also wasn't rooted ) the RUUs won't install, right? I flashed first this one and then one of the HTC RUUs and after this everything worked perfectly.
nope, i didn't try that one yet, but the thing is my legend was rooted before i tried flashing these htc ruus, i just want my bootloader unlocked, i had cyanogen on it then flashed a rooted one with sense (b08) thinking that would let me update but it didn't, so i'm downloading that one you pointed me to now, i'll try and flash it and let you know how it goes.
When i flash that rom i get a main version is older error when i rename it to LEGEIMG and flash it via fastboot, what can i do now?
I followed Blayo's guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22613990&postcount=62 with my already rooted Legend. Try to follow exactly. You said using a gold card - don't think this is even necessary. At least I did not use one, and it is working perfectly.
After flashing the new bootloader, did you really unlock?
(last step of guide above: follow the instructions on HTCdev from Step 8 to unlock)
Wait, all the RUUs you have to flash before unlocking are HTC's executable files ( .exe ). You have updated your phone executing them, haven't you? After that I just rebooted my phone to fastboot and connected it. I found the unlock code, sent it to HTCdev, received an e-mail with the file to complete unlock and then unlocked. I never used anything like UPDATE.zip or LEGEIMG. I tried following the BlaYo's instructions but they didn't work for me. I just did what HTC said ( easyer and safer ).
hmmmmm

keyboard error?!
i solved my problem, i sold the phone and bought another legend. LOL, no seriously though, i did sell it and got another but i tried everything and couldn't unlock bootloader, i tried the exe files from htc, tried extracting the zip files, tried fastboot and renaming to LEGEIMG, just couldn't get it unlocked, so i flashed the latest cyanogen 7.2 and sold the darn thing, now i got another and made 50$ in the process as i bought the new one 50$ cheaper and i'm going to go through the htc channels to unlock the bootloader but does anyone know if i'll be able to flash cm7 after i do that?
bootloader

What do you mean with 'rooting again'? Once you have unlocked bootloader, you are able to flash a recovery, and then CM, which is rooted. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24102979 for latest Recovery and latest CM7.2 builds
Ok just to update i flashed the HTC dev bin file again and had restore cm7 backup and bootloader is unlocked once again.
got her goin good now, unlocked bootloader with htcdev, fastboot flashed cwm, then i was able to flash cm7.2 and gapps no problem at all, now if we could only s-off the legend???

For what reason? It's quite similar
Because it's still not totally unlocked

After unlocking boot loader:
1. Use htcsupertoolv3 to root
2. Install rom manager and titanium backup
3. Run titanium backup. It will ask you to update su. accept (i'm not sure if this step is required, but this is how i done it)
4. Copy recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-legend to your Android folder created during bootloader unlock
5. With your phone on fastboot mode open terminal in your PC android folder and type:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-legend.img
Your phone will go to recovery mode.
6. Reboot your phone in normal mode
7. From now on, each time you want to go into recovery, use rom manager
Done

So for what I have understood from HTCdev, you can do everything similar to S-OFF, with one exception: you cannot unlock a SIM lock.

True, you can't. I'm not sure if flashing a custom rom will unlock it, as my phone sim card was unlocked from very beginning. Probably not?

Stuck in a bootloop

Edit:
I didn't know you could run the RUU while the phone was in the bootloader. It boots fine now. Mods can delete this if they want.
Ok, so I have to bring my phone into Sprint so I needed to relock the bootloader and unroot the phone. I used the all in one tool to relock it and now it just constantly goes into the bootloader, no matter what option I pick. Does anybody have any ideas how I can get it out so I can unroot it and run the RUU?

[Q] Reverting to Stock for Sense 6

I'm aware of the OTA update next week that'll update me to Sense 6.
Currently displays in recovery:
Tampered
Unlocked
S-OFF
Currently on stock 4.4.2 rooted, no other kernel changes, etc. but the ROM I'm using has custom black boot screens added (literally just black instead of default white boot background).
Rooting is nice and all but getting tired and would just like to revert to pretty much locked bootloader, unrooted, factory condition, etc. and be able to also do OTA for future updates.
Any help is appreciated. Baby steps please.
Anyone?
First, relock your bootloader. To do that, start your phone in bootloader mode, connect your phone to pc via usb cable and type "fastboot oem lock" on command prompt. Next, download the proper ruu exe file from htc1guru.com. By proper,I mean the one that matches your phones actual model number and custom id. Execute the ruu while connecting your phone to pc in fastboot mode. Follow the on screen instructions and when finished, you will have s phone that says re locked and s-off. You will get ota in this condition and will be able to install ota and upgrade to Sense 6.0 without any problems.

Can I just flash that RUU in the link above? It should take me back to stock 4.4.2 with no modifications, stock recovery, and since I have an unlocked bootloader + S-OFF I should be able to get OTA's.
I'm just getting replies and finding info in other threads with different methods so I just don't want to screw up anything.

If you are only rooted with stock ATT software, unroot using the SuperSU app, make sure you have stock recovery, and you are golden. DO NOT turn S-ON, and also no need to lock bootloader, as with S-OFF, you will get updates with unlocked bootloader

I'm running stock AT&T 4.4.2 but the person who uploaded the ROM used a custom black boot screen (black HTC background instead of white when the phone boots) and so I was worried that might affect things. Hence I thought I could just flash an RUU to go back to 100% stock AT&T 4.4.2 (+ unroot) and maintaining unlocked bootloader + S-OFF so I can OTA.
EDIT: Could I just convert it to a Developer Edition using the link in your signature? Will there be any problems with my AT&T SIM card? All I have to do is relock bootloader and flash the Dev. Edition ROM.
Yes you can flash the decrypted ruu. It is the same as using the ruu exe.
If you haven't changed your mid and/cid,then what you need to is just lock the bootloader and flash the ruu (zip or exe). You will be on stock with s-off which is fine for getting ota.
Yes you can convert to developer edition. The DE and the at&t version are the same hardware-wise (except DE have 64gb storage instead of 32gb on at&t version) and have the same radio bands. You will get faster Android upgrades with no at&t bloats.

You may want to just try and apply the OTA when released. I'm not aware that S-OFF is a problem, I know an unlocked bootloader nor rooted isn't an issue. I got the Rogers OTA with an unlocked bootloader a rooted (by the way was still rooted after the OTA)
Just my 0.02

My understanding is that, if there's any modification in system files, applying OTA may result in a bootloop/brick. I agree that rooted devices remain rooted after OTA. As the OP said that s/he us using a rom with modified boot animation, I suggested him/her to return to stock first.

[Q] ¿Can i take an OTA whit S-OFF?

(SOLVED)
Im in stock 4.1.2 whit S-OFF, unlocked bootloader (1.55) and then RELOCKED.
¿Can i take the last OTA?
Im not rooted, and i dont have custom recoverys (i recently flashed a RUU.zip to return to stock, but i could not remove the S-OFF and RELOCKED status because the hboot 1.55).
I have economic (health) problems and I'll really need to sell my phone, but I'm afraid that the new owner will come out error when trying to update.

Yes. You can get OTAs while S-OFF. And assuming you haven't unlocked the bootloader since flashing the RUU, all the system files it verifies should be in place to accept OTAs. However, considering you are currently on 4.1.2, you'll need to run through a progression of OTAs to get up to the latest version, 4.4.2 w/ Sense 6. Might be better to just run the latest RUU to bring it up to 4.4.2 w/ Sense 5.5 then OTA to Sense 6. Be aware that you'll need to be on the AT&T network in order to get the updates OTA. If you're not on AT&T, you'll need to flash the updates manually, in which case you'll need to be S_OFF.
Also, once the phone is S-OFF there is no good reason to change that back to S-ON. There's the potential of bricking the phone by doing so. And even if it doesn't brick, the updates in firmware may make it more difficult to obtain S-OFF again.
Thank you very much.
At the begining i did this:
1- Unlocked bootloader and flashed TWRP.
2- Root
3- Gained S-Off
When i decide to sell it i did this:
1- Removed xposed and root.
2 - Relocked bootloader.
3 - Flashed RUU.zip (4.1.2)
¿What do you mean whit AT&T network? I unlocked the phone vía imei (using it in mexico whit Telcel) and still have the update appearing.
Sorry for my terrible english

First off, since you are S-OFF there is no need to relock the bootloader in order to flash an RUU. It will run just fine with an unlocked bootloader. Also when you flash an RUU, all the partitions get wiped so there is no need to do anything within the ROM such as remove xposed & root prior to flashing. The RUU will set the device essentially in a factory state.
As far as I understand it, the OTAs for carrier specific devices are served up by the carrier. So if the phone has been SIM unlocked and is being used on another network, if you go into Settings>AT&T software update, it will not receive any available OTA update. You will need to flash the update file manually using the information in this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2659374.
Since you are still on 4.1.2, you will need to run one of the recent RUUs in order to manually flash the OTA updates in that thread. The latest RUU available for AT&T devices is KK4.4.2 w/Sense 5.5.
http://androidruu.com/getdownload.p...09_10.26.1718.01L_release_356565_signed_2.exe
Flash that then you can manually flash the OTA update to get Sense 6.
You are the man.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Bypass bootloader unlock in developer options?

Is there any way to bypass HTC's new pre-bootloader unlock permissions in developer options?
I'm trying to fix a soft-bricked phone that will only boot into download mode.
It is currently relocked, S-ON, stock recovery. I'm not sure what was done to get it in this state as I'm fixing for a friend.
I figure the only option to get back to stock (or working condition) is by acheiving S-OFF which entails:
1. Unlocking the bootloader
2. Flashing TWRP
3. Flashing any ROM in order to run Sunshine S-OFF
4. Proceed with stock RUU flashing
But the bootloader is the real roadblock right now. It blocks me at fastboot.
