Tablet Sync Wifi - Android

Hi,
Fairly new here so I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong place. I have a tablet hooked up in my car and use it as my GPS and audio system. Works quite well, not to sound like I'm showing off, but yeah... =P
I'm looking to install a media center in my home, using my desktop as a server, I'd like to stream and possibly back up my data throughout my house (to my phones and laptop). I also want my tablet to automatically sync movies and audio when parked in the garage. Wifi coverage is not an issue. What I do need is security (prevention from unauthorized access) and automatic syncing capabilities..
Can anyone point me in the right direction. I'd like to develop an app of my own but with little development experience not entirely sure whether it's possible or not.

[Q] Android Tablet/Phone Mimic screen.

Hi
I have tried searching the net, here, and everywhere else.
I am unsure if I am even searching using the right terminology.
I have a A501 and a SGSIII.
I want to mount the Tablet in my car and then have the ability to remotely (Bluetooth preferable, but if I have do it WIFI that is ok.) control my phone, which may be in my pocket or in my bag.
So basically have the tablet display my phone screen.
Be able to stream the music from there.
Use Data (Maps and other Internet based things.)
So, is it possible?
I know there are "Mimic" head units available.
This is something similar, but would prefer it not to be handled via a cable, and just use my current tablet as the external screen for the mobile phone.

[Q] BT Radar Detector & BT Headset

Hi all -
I have a Cobra iRadar Detector. It connects to the phone via BT and that is how and were you see your speed and other general radar detector stuff.
I also have a Motorola SD10 BT headset. Since I drive all day, I need the headset to call the office and clients but the radar so I don't get pulled over.
How can I connect both simultaneously? I think I'd have to use the BT headset as Call Only and the BT Radar as Media only. And I'll try that today. But will I have to re-connect each time I turn off the engine and the Radar goes out? Or will it just stay connected? Or is there another way to have two devices connected at the same time?
Of course, if there are other questions I need to ask, please feel free to post those as well.

For speed just download a GPS speedometer they are far more accurate than than anything else.
In fact if you get one that saves the data you can use it as evidence to get out of a speeding ticket.
Unless you make a habit of speeding.... tut tut.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I actually use WAZE for GPS, which also has a speedometer and is crowd sourced so that other area drivers can post accidents, traffic jams, police and other useful information. Very handy, and as a person that drives 200+ miles a day in the city, it's useful.
The iRadar detector is just good enough for certain circumstances. I found that by having the BT headset as phone only, the radar detector works the media aspect and thus I'm able to use both - as I'd figured.
When I'm on the BMW motorcycle, speeding isn't an issue, I go so fast you didn't even see me come from behind and pass you.

i9300 and bluetooth devices.

Hello. First of all I'd like to say thay I had searched the threads as well as play store and google, and did not find any sufficient data on the matter.
I am running Ultima custom ROM on my Galaxy S3 i9300, I might have asked in the ROM thread section, but I am fairly sure this will not be ROM related, more like app related.
I recently bought a stand alone bluetooth keyboard slider case, that my SGS 3 fits in, but it forces me to keep bluetooth enabled all the time. Thus, my Sony Smartwatch that I use keeps connecting all the time via bluetooth as well. Now up to this point I used the bluetooth connection on the smart watch only when needed, for example while driving to switch songs (since the SGS 3 is docked as GPS, channeled by AUX to the car radio), which enabled me to preserve most of the watch battery power (charged it once a week, even less). Now, whenever I have the watch near the phone it will randomly connect on its own, or I make it connect by tapping it one time too many.
Now the question, is there an app somewhere that lets me filter my connected bluetooth devices, and let's say restrict the smart watch on my demand? Any info how to obtain selective bluetooth connectivity, I welcome.
please don't ask questions in this section
I feel like a moron, why didn't I post this in the Q&A -_-'' I'm sory...

[Q] Questions about S6 Watch

Friends,
Just had a disappointing purchase return with the Sony M3 watch. The battery drain was terrible - good thing I have a full refund
coming. Anyways, a few simple questions to ask. I have taken time to search and read through some of the posts but still confused on a few
things.
Ultimately, all I want is to use this watch for exercise, running, bluetooth streaming my local music (mp3s) to my headset, gps tracking and that is it. So where are my questions.
Going to purchase the watch straight out w/o data plan or phone.
1. Can I use my wireless network at home or phone as a tether for internet updates, software installs, mp3 music transfers?
2. I own the HTC m8 phone. I saw that there was a solution around owning a samsung phone device. What are the drawbacks from
not having a samsung phone vs. modified hack? Will I be able to install apps, transfer my music etc?
For now that is it...
Hope someone can lend a hand and answer a few questions.
Thank You,
tvos
Wifi does work stand alone software updates and installs need the phone unless you can root it and side load apps or music.
you can add music without root. just plug the usb from the charging cradle attached to the watch into your PC.

Video streaming over tethered connection

Hi, I hope this is the right place for this question.
I'm looking for a video streaming app that will work over a tethered connection i.e. one phone tethered to the other, without a separate wifi network or internet connection. The two phones will be the only devices available. One phone will act as the video camera outside in the cold, the other will be for monitoring the video inside in the warm.
I've found that most wifi-enabled apps of any sort won't work in this scenario.
