I'm looking for Loop device support for my T-Mobile SM-G900T. Can this be added to stock/MODed ROM's? Is it already being done? Please point me there. Usually find answers here but this time I'm stumped. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi,
I will have your thread moved to your device section.
Good luck!

I'm sorry but I don't know what "Loop Device Support" is. Can you elaborate so we might have a better idea of what you need?
Thanks.
I think he means a loop device like in networking, the loopback, just a guess though.

Please use Wikipedia search for Loop_device
What are you trying to do?
Loop has been fine with stock ROM for me. I use it to run a Linux os locally on my device.

Would a simple dd of every partition suffice? Like the Roto-backup for the Galaxy Tab?
Sure give it a try.. I would rather get bin or img... but anything would be good at this point...

Hi all,
I have been searching for months on this forum and google for an answer but am getting no where.
I am trying to test ROMs (developing and existing ones available) before flashing to my phone.
I have the SDK emulator installed, but i cannot seem to get a custom rom running.
I have both Windows and Linux platforms. Linux has the mkfs.yaffs2/unyaffs to create the .img files, but none load.
I download the stock PDA from Sams, and extracted the system.img file, added to the ./android/AVD_FOLDER, and this just hangs on the ANDROID screen.
Can someone please assist? Surely there must be away of testing custom ROMs and Kernels prior to flashing? Or do the uber devs just develop direct on the phone and continually flash the phone?
Wrong section, also I think most Rom cooks here continually re flash.

I appreciate this may be the wrong section, all though would be part of test/development for newbies like myself.
There surely must be away?

You aren't reading correctly, I am saying that read how to categorize your thread into sections.
It is written that if you did not get any answer in that thread, then post in Q&A section
What I am trying to make you realize is that this thread doesn't belong to Development Section.
Nothing more than that
Can any dev assist? Is there away of testing custom Roms on the emulator?

good to hear. :good:
I downloaded the rom from the below link and chrome warned me the file looked malicious...The hash matches the one in the forum.
Is it safe?

Meh... all custom roms all looks malicious to google lol. Of course it's 100% safe...
if it weren't then it should be even here on xda in the first place right?
Isn't it no longer maintained?

Yes.. already thought of this argument, but what if XDA missed it??? How do I get an admin to check this out?

Yeah, that's what I thought too since Faryaab is quite busy on his admin roles on SAMMobile.

I've never used this before but, I believe that the following thread should be helpful for what you are looking for and don't be afraid to ask for some member guidance within it too.
