Hey guys so recently I ROOTED Moto E. I uninstalled Chrome then so I can use a different browser. I couldn't get Chrome Back so I did a Factory Reset. After the Factory Reset I do not have Chrome and I cannot go on Gmail, Google Play etc. Is there any way I can fix this :crying:? Plus in Installed and On SDCard tabs there are no applications!
Thanks in advance!

you have rooted your phone and messed with the system so factory reset wont work as intended
if you have a nandroid back up via cwm or twrp..restore it..if you dont have..
dont worry ;back up imp data and follow any unbricking procedures for moto e that will revert you to stock with stock recovery and then
you will get 4.4.4 update which will get updated with out any problem:good:
ps:tried it a couple of times and it worked flawlessly.
hit thanks if i helped you.

After unlocking my bootloader i haven't been able to install apps but every once in a wail after restarting it then trying to update them real quick. I'm at a loss and would love to be able to use my phone again, thanks.

Were you trying to download a plethora of apps after flashing.? I just learned the hard way myself Google has a "floodgate" installed in the Android Market to prevent mass downloading of apps all at once. After flashing my Cap a few days ago I was downloading hundreds of apps when all of a sudden I started getting the unsuccessful download message. I got the same message on the Atrix as well (same Google account). The solution for me was to wait 24 hours. And yes I know I should have just restored from TiBU, lesson learned.
Ya but I cant even install apps from the net and I have sideloading enabled

I had this problem too!! Where absolutely nothing would install after I went back to stock (flashed a full 1.26 sbf) after unlocking the bootloader and installing hk2.3.4
I was going crazy cause I couldn't even unmount my storages or anything and drivers kept constantly trying to reinstall on my comp!
The way I solved this is to install the newest tenfars CWM recovery and then I formatted every single thing that could be formatted and that finally did the trick! I'm so happy to finally have my atrix working normal again! I thought flashing a full sbf undoes most everything you do to the phone but I was definetly wrong!
FIXED !!! thanks
ok, ill try to make it simple, ive been working on my tab since 1pm and its 11pm and am still f*cked up
So to make a long story a short one here is what happened
Since i updated to ICS, everything was fine except for flash player not playing my videos anymore, i found a thread explaining how to fix it BUT i didnt reinstall CWM when i update so i actually did (by mistake) a complete reset on my tab (losing all datas, picture, apps etc)
I was wise enough to make a backup on sept 30 b4 i update to ICS
so i found how to re root the tab on ICS, i did it with success, install CWM with odin
then i took rom manager and restore my apps and data and this is where it got complicated
the md5 mismatch popped out, founded how to fix it using terminal emulator, did it then restore
all my apps and settings where back up except for my pictures (its okay i had them saved on my pc)
so i thought i would simply re update to ICS and my life would be great......NOT !
now i keep getting an error: system UI has stopped
went back to recovery tried to wipe everything to factory reset and start all over again,
well my tab is now reset BUT that freaking system UI error keeps coming up and i cant do nothing
the tab is reset but cwm is still installed and i can still restore from my backup so actually i guess it mean the tab is not fully reset.
more, when i plug the usb cable, it doesnt show up on my pc so i cant explore the tab manually
now i dont know what to do, i've been googling for the past 2 hours, cant find a decent solution.
All i want is toget rid of that system ui error, reset the tab and then try again to restore my old backup so i can have my apps then re update to ICS
please, am really desparate, i need help
EDIT :
i think i might have brick my tab
actually while i was waiting for a reply, i went back into Odin and flashed twrp recovery that i got from another website
then i went into recovery and tried again to wipe everythig (cache, devlak and factory reset) i was then back to honeycomb 3.1 but still getting that systemui error
then i've hit system wipe wich has wipe my rom so now my tab isnt rebooting
its stuck on the samsung galaxy tab screen
while i wait for your help, im looking around to find and set back the stock rom
i feel really dumb atm
Try re-install your rom again by using odin

If it were me I would flash stock recovery and stock Honeycomb image and then manually update to ICS using OTA's if stock rooted ICS was the goal. I would not mess with ROM manager or restore apps and data using it as it is likely where you started to get into trouble.
I have seen the system ui error message before myself and it was when I had restored all apps and data blindly over a new install of ICS using titanium. I had to reflash the ROM again and opted instead to manually install the apps after which I restored data for them individually using titanium. Its a pain to do it but the best way to ensure a stable end result. From that point on the lesson learned was to not restore all apps but just the missing ones.

thanks, after i sent that post, i finaly found the stock ICS rom for my tab and installed it,
now am back to the point where i want to restore my apps/data/pictures from my backup that i did with nandroid
thats where i need help, i still get the md5 mismatch but i know how to fix it using terminal emulator but i think the system ui problem comes up because the backup is from a honycomb 3.1 or 3.2 and now the tab is running ICS.
if i reinstall all my apps manually, do you know how i could restore my data from the nandroid backup ?
am trying to find my original 3.1 honeycomb rom but it seem that it doesnt exist on sammobile
Just manually reinstall everything and set it back up without restoring data. Otherwise you're looking for trouble in my opinion.
Just return back to original stock.

Hi there just wondered firstly if someone had hacked my android galaxy s3 would rooting it back to its original firmware wipe any hack that had been done?
And secondly - well basically the story is someone dodgy got hold of my s3 phone unlocked when I wasn't looking but they definitely did something on it. It might all be nothing but I did notice in one of the clipboards copy n paste windows the last one had this : *start. now I have searched for what this could be but I have had no luck - if anyone can guess that would be great too but in the mean time I guess I will root back to the original firmware and update to 4.1.2 again (After backing up stuff via kies). Thanks for any help!

"Rooting" is not the correct term. You mean "restoring." Anyways, yes, restoring your device to stock will remove anything which they may have placed on your device.
It could easily be the code to a run a script so be careful. Restoring to stock would be a wise thing to do just to be safe .

And thanks again ...yer restored - I wiped factory reset and cache but not davik in download mode then flashed the original ROM started up and factory reset in android then wiped the external SD card too. Changed my main account passwords - hope I didn't forget one :S . I was just worried there might be a place to hide that does not get wiped but ill just have to go with this I guess thanks.

Restoring to stock and erasing the SD card would remove anything which may have been placed, so there is no other place to "hide" anything. Cheers .

Hi Guys
Awhile back i used towelroot to root my phone. Now with all the talk about the Flashlight app I want to reset my phone. The news article that I read said that if your flashlight app is over a meg in size then it most likely contains spyware. I am not able to boot into recovery mode. I have even tried to use a couple apps called Reboot Recovery and Quick Boot. When I try these two apps or use the pwr, home and vol up it boots to this screen then boots normally
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fkxyrqz1tf6daqs/20141031_014341.jpg?dl=0
The phone has nothing of importance on it because its new, all I want is to get back to factory settings. Its a Samsung Galaxy 3 (Canada)
Thanks
Rick

The size of the Flashlight app wouldn't be the main indicator. Did you get the app from the Play Store? If so, look at the permissions of the app. Does it request to look at your contacts, SMS, etc? If so, then be worried and reset. If not, then unlikely it's doing anything untoward. As far as resetting, it's odd that CF Auto Root didn't restore the stock recovery. At this point, you will want to do 1 of 2 things:
1) Use Odin to install the stock recovery.
2) Use Odin to install a proper custom recovery.
With a working recovery in place, then resetting the phone will be a breeze.
Ok i used Odin to install a stock recovery. Odin failed and now I get a messege when I reboot the phone
Firware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again.
Keis will not connect.
Any ideas
ok i was able to use kies to get my phone back to where it was before using Odin.
In Kies I used tools - Firware upgrade and initalization. Got a message that said the device can be initalized to its original settings. All settings and data will be deleted and the latest software version will be installed.
When it was all said and done nothing was deleted all my apps and accounts I installed were still there. I did notice that it removed root
Whats going on
I still want to reset to factory settings
anyone have another way

So after the restore, you still can't get into the stock recovery? And it sounds like you used the wrong recovery. Let me know the model number of your S3 and which build version of the software you are on and I let you know what you should use.
Thanks you were right I got the wrong recovery found the right one did it again and Im good to go
Thanks again

So I rooted my Galaxy Grand Prime (SM-G530W android 5.1.1) following this guide: skyneel .com/ root-samsung-galaxy-grand-prime-sm-g530w
Odin gave it a pass and everything works fine and it boots. Except for the part where it boots to a blank homescreen (just the wallpaper that I can't interact with) and then loads the lockscreen like 5 minutes later. I can unlock it from there and access only apps that are in my task manager which include settings and snapchat. I get about 2 minutes before settings crashes, and then all I can access is the lockscreen for a bit until it starts working again. My phone constantly vibrates as everything crashes one by one (it gives me the unfortunately x has stopped message; things like media storage server, contacts, touchwiz crash). I can access camera but cant take pictures because media storage crashes. Same with phone but contacts crashes. I've tried clearing the cache partition but that didn't help. SuperSU IS on my phone
TLDR: rooted phone, now everything is crashing constantly, making phone pretty much unusable. Lock screen and notification center is all that works consistently
I did make a backup before using this guide: techrepublic .com/article/how-to-create-a-full-backup-of-your-android-device-without-root/
Sounds like you might not be on the correct build that that root guide is meant for. Did you confirm that you were on the G530WVLU1AOFB update as shown in Settings > About Phone > Build Number? If so, a factory reset might help. If not, that's what caused this and you will need to reload the original firmware via Odin and root with the method for your particular update.

Yes, I did make absolute that I do have that exact version. I'm currently downloading my stock firmware from SamMobile (I'm with Fido/Canada).
Are you saying to factory reset then try and root again?
It should be rooted already. My suggestion is to reset it now. If that does not work, then flash the stock firmware via Odin and try again.

By reset it, do you mean through settings?
And if I reset it, can I restore from backup? I have some game progress that I don't really want to lose
Yes, or through recovery. Depends on what kind of backup and what kind of game it is as to whether it can be restored.

It's an adb backup done through android sdk
I dunno what the game is or what kind of backup it supports, so couldn't tell you. Either way, I doubt your phone will be fixed without doing some kind of reset. Either via factory reset or reloading the firmware with Odin, which often resets the phone as well, though it depends on the firmware.

Does the reset keep root?
A factory reset will, but not if you reload the firmware via Odin. Root is placed in the /system partition and a factory data reset wipes /data.
Alright, I'm factory resetting now
Okay apparentlty I'm not root after the factory reset.
Alright, I rooted again, and now it works. Thanks.
Unrelated, but which SDK do I download for Xposed framework? I know it's SDK22, but I'm not sure between arm, arm64, and x86 (for a SM-G530w)
