I bought the Fierce 2 new in November from MetroPCS. It was a pretty solid phone that got the job done. Come January I decided to check for a system update. There was so I proceeded to install. This is where I got stumped. It said there was an error installing the update. So I rebooted my phone in hopes that it still worked, Nope. It got stuck on a screen that said MetroPCS. I wiped the phone to see if that would help but it didn't. It ended up getting stuck on a screen that said Alcatel Fierce 2. I came here in hopes that someone could help me get the phone operational again, if it's even possible. Please and thank you!
Yeah we were one of the many that was bricked by the OTA update. And Alcatel doesn't give a rat's arse. Their customer service is HORRIBLE! I was guessing I had the brick coz I got kingroot on my phone. Nothing else. but reading about it it seems even people who never rooted/modified their phone got bricked. And as always, Alcatel doesn't give a rat's arse. I am thinking now they did it so people will be forced to buy a new phone!!!
What a wanker company. Ugh. Anyway this is a year old thread. I am assuming you have anew phone by now as I do. Mission accomplished Alcatel huh?!!! Well you lost me as a customer forever for sure though.
The poster Big country really is a big help. although he didn't fix my phone, maybe he can fix yours. And if you got a fix can you share what you did?
I am trying to fix this phone so I can sell it and my Galaxy ON5.
I have zmax pro now. At first I was excited coz of VR capability of the phone and it's cheap and it has huge screen. But there are just waaaaayyy too many bugs on zmax pro it really is NOT fun anymore.

Hey all,
Hope this is the right forum..Im wondering if anyone can help me with this issue, and I ask because Ive seen all you dev's and other android supermen and women do,and help me do some amazing things with the platform...My daughter has a 1st gen Tabeo (an7dg3c) from toys r us (I know it sux) lol but after sending it in 6 times in two years to get fixed and now as our warranty is expired this last time I feel like they screwed us on purpose..The issue it was having was the battery temp would get hot,get stuck on a bootloader, and when I could get a charge for second to turn it on,the battery level would always say 0 then immediately turn off..Im wondering there is anything I can do to install ClockModRecov, maybe flash Firmware? I cant even find the right driver for this.. I heard the same firmware as an Archos Tab..If anyone can help me get this back on fixed and working I have no problem sending a nice gracious donation to help my daughter and I out.Rooting and ROMing for a couple years helped me understand what you all do.Message me! Thanks!!

Hi there. I found a forum specifically for your tablet here (though looks like a ghost town now):
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/arnova-7d-g3/
Drivers:
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/featured/adb-driver-update-for-archos-arnova-devices/
Custom firmware and installation instructions (MUST have the capacitive touch screen model):
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/featu...-capacitive-android-4-1-1-jb-custom-firmware/
However, this could be a risky venture if the tablet is prone to shutting off due to overheating. It's quite possible if you could get the tablet to load that, if it shuts off in the middle of trying to install, it could be a lost cause.
Thanks so much, yea I seen that but its not working somehow..Thanks for your time,im gonna have mto buy a new tablet and trash this..Bad company, horrible tablet...
Last night I was charging my phone while using the mobile hotspot app and it randomly just cut off and wont boot past the unable to check your software for corruption lock your bootloader screen or it wont show anything and just vibrate the whole time. any suggestions on what the problem might be and any solutions. Desperatly need to keep this phone goin
Welcome to the club. Sorry to tell you this, but it's dead. It has the bootloop of death. Mine had the same thing happen. Sometimes it will boot to that screen and turn off and other times it won't turn on at all. I just got mine back today from LG today. They replaced the motherboard for free. It's something to do with the solder joints.
Mine died today as well.how did you get in touch with lg? Thanks
help - i seem to have the exact same issue
my phone is doing the exact same thing. it suddenly just gets to the "device software cant' be verified..." screen then sometimes it goes to the LG screen and sometimes it just dies from there?
Should i be contacting LG for this ?
Will I loose root if I send it

I realize you asked this over a week ago, and I assume you found your own answer, but in case anyone else finds this by search, yes, you will absolutely lose root. If you can get LG to fix it, they will replace the main board. But, your phone is completely dead unless you can get LG to fix it, so it's dead phone or stock phone, my friend. If you're not familiar with this issue, ask google about LG V10 bootloop. For fun, add the word "freezer" to your search. It's crazy, but it's a known thing with this and similar LG devices... g'luck.

Thank you. I need to get in touch with lg and get it fix. Im using a sony xperia z5c now and miss my phablet
Hi, I have had reboots before but never like this and always with several months to half year apart, yesterday my phone started rebooting if i touched something in the menu. Of course I thought it were virus or malware that had infected the system or some faulty app that had done something to the ROM.
Therefore I got the stock ROM I had saved for just in case and another one I would try if ever I got tired of this phone(then use it for test purpose):
Stock ROM: Lenovo_A916_USR_S1205_141013
Second one, without bloatware: A916_USR_S206_baralajbi
Both from www.needrom.com
And I flashed the phone with first A916_USR_S206_baralajbi - unfortunately this one has problem with the charging animation when the phone is off, a small issue but enough for me to go back to stock ROM.
So I flashed with stock ROM.
Unfortunately in both cases it did not solve the reboot issue, so now I'm a big ?
Can it be the battery that suddently went dead?
Or can it be some other issue, like the ram being filled up and need to be zeroed out(read somewhere that this type of ram is not like HDD so not getting emptied just by deleting files, it will happened over time, when its overwritten)?
I really need some geniuses here, I'm in the Philippines right now until end of may, of course I could buy another phone, Dogee, HomTom, cherry mobile or asus zenphone but all has a price a bit out of my budget, and i need to save money for the trip home. Unfortunately I really need my phone.
Most of my data is backed up so I can just restore it, to new phone.
Hope someone has a way to bring back my Lenovo
JBJ
EDIT: I'm still in need of help with this, I'm just sitting here waiting for someone to answer - can't do much else.
No one know what to do about this or what the cause is?
Hi guys, another one for the Solutions Corner, it was the battery - strange that "geniuses" at Lenovo + nobody here couldn't come up with that!
With new battery the phone is no longer rebooting!

Has this ever happened to anyone? With wanting to use a new rom, and the power going out recently in my home it got me thinking about it... although it would be rare, are you totally screwed if that were to happen, or would you just rewipe your device and start the process again?
I lost the battery for my laptop a couple years ago and never bothered to replace it... just wondering if i should as those are alot cheaper than a new S7. but im not as worried if you can simply just restart the process again
hydro went out here again tonight... so now its *really* got me thinking about it!
Hi, I'm new in this but I'm also desperate for help. For starters, I live in Venezuela so it's a bit troublesome to visit a proper tech service and stuff. Well, as I said in the title, the problem with my phone is that it keeps getting stuck in the LG logo. I've already flash it several times, but this solution only seems to work for a few days. I'll explain the problems in a chronological order
1) I dropped my phone in january and the screen broke, so I bought a new one along with a new touch screen. At that time, the only problem that I had was that, even though I had a SIM card in my phone, it didn't have any mobile network signal. I tried many things but gave up on that and the problem's still with me
2) In an attempt to fix that issue, I factory reseted my phone and since that time I got the feeling that something was off with my device but I dind't pay attention to it cos my phone was working appareantly fine
3)After that my device started to get laggy and I tought it was the battery because sometimes it was at 87% and when you turn it off and turn it on again, the battery was at 67% in an instant. It wasn't that bad so I kept using it like that
4) Sometime around last month my phone reboot itself (it was usual that when my device got reaaally laggy it reboots itself). The problem was that it got stuck in the LG logo so I look for solutions and end up flashing it.
5) It worked for a few weeks but the cycle started again. Laggy and then stuck in LG logo. I bought a new battery (wich works fine) thinking that this would solve the problem so I did a factory reset, flash it and then turn it on but the problem still didn't go away.
I'm desperate for help cos I need my phone to work and since I live in Venezuela, I really need the money and obviosuly, I can't afford to buy a new device. Could someone help me?
A little note here. I tried upgrading the software using "LG Mobile Support Tool 2014" but the app shuts down before downloading the upgrade. I don't know if it's due to my laptop being really old (Acer Aspire 5920). I know I have A LOT of troubles but I'm in need of a friendly help!
