The rooted with Superuser...
after that, I have to be in debugging mode to connect to computer and everytime I connect to different computer, it keep asking me to install the driver.
Before root, it did not ask any driver, it was working with mass storage like USB thumb drive.
I try to unroot but it is not working I don't know why..
And I try to use Restore Backups through ROM Manager v2.5.0.4 but not working....
I am so frustrated with this root..... I just want to unroot and I really want to use 2.2froyo ....
adb shell
su
rm -r /system/app/Superuser.apk
rm -r /system/xbin/busybox
rm -r /system/bin/su
And I also try that, but it says, rm failed for /system/app/Superuser.apk, Read-only file system
all three same error message.
Could anyone please help me to unroot my phone or.... anyway to use my mass storage without installing the driver?
It is using the adb interface
The second issue is that /system is mounted read only have to remount read write

Ok first things first : If you installed some launcher and your touch screen is not responding and you dont have USB debugging enabled then the only way to fix that is to install the original firmware, dload from here : http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...huawei-ideos-s7-slim-official-firmware-4.html check post 35 for the one i used
If you do have debugging enabled the download Superoneclick from below.
The super one click can aslo root the S7 slim and it has adb installed. Unxip it somewhere and go into the \adb folder. Open command prompt from there and run
Adb devices
If it doesnt show your device the either the debugging is not enabled or the right driver is not loaded. (Menu, Settings, Applications, Development, USB Debugging (Yes))
type adb shell
cd\data\app
rm *launcher*.apk
exit
adb reboot
This will remove the launchers thats faulty and touch screen will work again.
If you guys find a clockworkmod that works then leme know here cause i loaded the wrong one and its messed up.
Use psneuter to root and use the adb in the zip for the above
Cia

ADB remount
adb push c:\bluetooth_power.sh /system/etc/
unzip attached file to c:\
Swapping sdcard and sdcard2 around
adb remount
adb push vold.fstab /system/etc/vold.fstab
if you get permission denied error when doing adb remount then try the following instead :
adb push vold.fstab /sdcard/vold.fstab
adb shell
su
mount -o remount rw /system
cp /sdcard/vold.fstab /system/etc/vold.fstab
mount -o remount ro /system
exit
exit
reboot
Copy attached file into ur adb directory (and unzip it has the modified and original file in the zip) and do the above

this works great - - i had a problem where i have not been able to recover my internal SD card - tried everything - even back to original eclair and all - now i just use the external sd (16gb) for everything. No problems with camera recognizing sd card or programs not downloading, etc, etc....
I'll still try to maybe swap out the internal card, or try to get it functional again somehow, but in the meantime, the S7 if again functional.
Rom
Im currently using this rom an dit works perfectly : http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...ical/15812-rom-tri_zet-ideos_s7-slim-mod.html
Only problem i had was updating google maps so i just loaded the new version via .apk manually
O yes If you load that rom and it comes on the first time the screen might not respond (stuck on lockscreen) but its busy loading software in the background. Mine came up on the lock screen saying connect charger although the battery wasnt low so i plugged the charge cable in. It then rebooted after a while and the touch screen is working perfectly.

I just got my Slim S7 yesterday, hated the launcher so I replaced it not thinking it would cause such a problem... long story short I tried installing the rom you linked hoping it would fix it(tried everything else) and the touch screen still is unresponsive and USB debugging is now disabled. Any ideas?

well I finally got it working. I ended up doing multiple battery pulls and installed the geeksu recovery, and that's all I did. I'm up and running on that rom. Only thing is thatbi somehow lost root, but that was no biggy.
Hello everyone!
I've recently purchased a Vodafone Smart Tab 10 running Honeycomb 3.2.
I would like very much to root the device and kill the bloat a bit.
The hardware is good, but it seems that Honeycomb + bloatware is not the best way to go for a smooth experince...
Maybe the process would be similar for the Vodafone Smart Tab 7, too:
[Q] How to root Vodafone Smart Tab 7
Smart Tab on Vodafone's site:
Vodafone Smart Tab 7/10
Thanks.
We need a compatible CW recovery. There is the 3e recovery onboard like in Samsung devices. We have a working adb and fastboot. Bootloader is unlocked.

You can get source on
HTML:
http://www.vodafone.com/content/index/about/what/devices/vodafone_smart_tab.html
You can pull config from device.
Yeah, this device is cheap and good, but we need root for it. Come on, I'm sure that someone can make custom recovery and root for this device.
I would go and try this.
But downloading of the source would take me years on my sucky hotel internet now. Maybe when I get home.
Yes but you'll need a rooted devices to dump recovery.img and to read the partition layout. We need to root it first. I have tried the gingerbreak with gingerbreak.apk and oneclickroot but without success. Any ideas?

Does anyone know the password to bluez package of the source?
Noup. Whay they set the password at all? Any progress with the recovery buildup?

BlueZ
Unless I'm mistaking, BlueZ is a package dealing only with bluetooth functionality.
It should be of no concern in the early stages of root/custom ROM implementation.

You are right about BlueZ. Any idea of the method we could use to root this device?

To my understanding, it's possible to perform a root through ADB.
Since the device is unlocked in just about every other possible way, it shouldn't be too much of a chore.
I'll be having a look over possible ways to do that tonight.
$ adb shell /system/bin/cmdclient ec_micswitch ‘`mount -o remount,rw /system`’
adb shell /system/bin/cmdclient ec_micswitch '`mount -o remount,rw /system`'
liuyuanyuan prjName is <V11A>
liuyuanyuan exit adbd if usb_mass_storage is enabled on V66 or V68
error: device not found
What the f this liuyuanyuan wants from me He is good o yes
EDIT: This device does not have cmdclient & cmd_server_daemon running!

I think it's more likely that you don't have the proper device drivers on your computer.
I have the links at work, I'll try to see about them tomorrow. Were you in Recovery or Development mode?
I'm using a pached by myself drivers from ZTE 3g phone archive that I found somewhere. ADB works fine. This is a root method for the Acer iconia 100 but it doesn't work because our device does not have cmdline binary in /sys/bin. I tried to pull it out from some Iconia ROM and adb pushed it to /data/local but there is the catch also. Cmd_server_daemon needs to be started which is impossible without the root permissions.
If you have the original drivers for this device please provide us a link.
Sent from my SmartTab10 using Tapatalk
Here's a link to the original V71 drivers, which I'm assuming would be the same for the V11 here.
For my device, the daemon runs properly with these drivers, but I need to have no drivers installed first, connect the device, then install the drivers with the device connected. The drivers came included on the device.
You should first try uninstalling all drivers relating to tablets/phones, then connecting the device and seeing if any drivers show up in a new detected "CD Drive" (ZTE loves doing this).
Also, any owners of the SmartTab7/SmartTab10 a.k.a v71a or v11a please vote for these devices on the new device voting thread. We need all the effort we can spend if we're going to see these devices properly supported.

For me, i could push files to /data/local just fine, i can perform apk installations through adb, however i can't execute almost any command.
Everything would have been fine if we could do $adb shell su, but i get permissions error even with modified su file, so i have no idea what to do.
The weird thing is that cmd_server_daemon runs just fine for me, however i can't get any permissions at all.
Using adb root tells me that root is not available for production models.
Do you have the cmd_server_daemon listed in ls -l /system/bin ?
If you have you can use this Method
Sent from my SmartTab10 using Tapatalk
No, i don't have it listed. Which is weird, because I've seen mentions of it booting and running successfully... i think.
We are pretty stuck. If someone could get stock firmware. We need a boot.img or a hc 3.2 exploit.
We're not stuck at all, actually.
We have the source code, remember?
If i can find any instructions on how to integrate root with it, I can just build the rom.
Hi all,
I'm rooted and running Cyanogenmod 10.2.0. I'm trying to access some files on my device through ADB that require root access. I can change to the directory but when I attempt to list the contents of the directory I get a "permission denied" error.
I did enable Root access for "Apps and ADB" in the developer options on the phone.
Any ideas what's going wrong or (most likely) what I'm doing wrong?
TIA!

Will you please provide which command did you execute in cmd?
Please write it in same syntax as in adb

Here are the commands I executed
Code:
adb shell

ls
The ls is where I get the error. It does change to the directory but it won't list the files. I have verified that I can see the files with root explorer.

I have 2 answers. First - Go to adb
Code:
adb start-server
adb devices
adb shell
su
cd data/data/com.whatabou.pixeldungeon/files/
ls
Don't forget "su" command
When you give "su" command (depending on your phone) screen shows toast message or Superuser access for shell. In latter case give access.
Second- if above doesn't help
Then this will help to pinpoint problem.
Install terminal emulator from Play Store. Open and give Superuser access.
Code:
su
cd data/ /data/com.whatabou.pixeldungeon/files/
ls
Don't forget "su" command.
If 2nd method works then there is a problem with adb. If second method doesn't work then problem in phone.
Press thanks if helped

Thanks for the response.
I KNOW the problem was that I forgot the su. Stupid me! I was assuming that since I was rooted that the shell was automatically elevated.
But now I have a different problem. I'm unable to use the original PC that I was working with and I've switched to another. Now I can't seem to get ADB to connect to my device. As first it showed no devices when I did the devices command. I realized it was likley because I didn't have the Samsung drivers installed, so I installed those and now I see the phone but it shows offline.
Any ideas what might be going wrong now?
I'm going to do a bunch of Googling to try to figure it out, but if I'm not successful maybe someone here will have an answer.
Thanks tons!
OK all solved!
I'm not sure what along the way I did that fixed my device offline problem. (It may just be that I never saw the RSA fingerprint notification on the phone the first bunch of times.)
The su took care of not being able to see the files when executing ls.
Thanks @hnkotnis

Glad to help you.
I also had the adb saying offline problem. First it wouldn't show device. Then after Computer and phone reboot, it showed offline. I reinstalled Samsung adb drivers. It said I already have drivers. I said yes still install and rebooted. Problem solved. It occurred once again, but was repaired automatically.

hi,
My phone touchscreen is broken. I want to backup some data from the phone.
I'd like to do this via titanium backup.
I was able to successfully get into adb shell and want to disable touchscreen.
I found this command:
Code:
touchpad -m bootloader
but it says /system/bin/sh touchpad: not found
anyone know how i might accomplish this?
thanks
