I am currently investigating this device as a second phone I am currently in service with Sprint and am curious if I should be looking for a GPe or which model of standard device I should be looking for. LTE is not a big thing in my area as of yet because I live in a rural area as long as I have the 3g or 3g+ I am fine. I would prefer to have a device that the LTE works with.

I don't believe it will work with sprint.
I believe a user posted about getting it on sprint, honestly If you have sprint go with the C6806 which is the GPE as well gpe is stock Android..
My wife has the c6806 and I'm trying to find a way to root and unlock the bootloader the phone currently has 4.4.4..thanks

Sprint is CDMA network, without proof to the contrary I will not believe any ZU will work. Also not all C6806 phones are GPe models, you should really check your facts prior to posting.

I am pretty sure the C6806 GPe will not have the Xperia logo on the back, I am positive it will not have the FM radio app.
The Build number for Sony 4.4.4 will be 14.4.A.0.108, I assume the GPe will not be the same.

This thread is up to date for Sony ZU, I want to stress the need to back up TA partition after rooting and before unlocking your bootloader.

Anyways... Like I said your best bet is to get the C6806 I've owner every color and every model. So speaking from xperience (pun).
Hope you do get it, still the best big phone everyday I get the "is that a phone" and proving it's water proof is fun.
Sprint is similar to VZW, which uses CDMA technology. ZU uses global GSM, making this phone incompatible with both Sprint and VZW.
Two very different technologies, and radio bands as well.

We are at&t galaxy note users that are on Tmobiles network and we need the new Tmobile radio to make the at&t note work better and maybe fully on the HSDPA network at 42 Mbps and not 24 Mbps that we currently are using. Please devs if you can post it. A lot of us can use our phones without the unstable radios we are currently on. Thank you

Rotohammer? Did he start a thread? did he tried whole whole rom or only the radio?
You are a near neighbor to Rotohammer. He hails from NJ.
I have a Rotohammer. It makes drilling concrete fun!
Modem is actually a contraction of words. . . or is it an acronym? I forget. Modular something or other.
Ok, get the drift? None of this also has anything to do with rom development.

And I did notice he hails from NJ!
He has a tmo note. Not sure exactly what he did. He said something about swapping antennas tomorrow to see if that does the trick. So he must have a tmo and an att note.
this shouldnt be in development section unless you were posting the actual radio for users.

The latest link you sent me was like a WIKI for this phone but I still can't pinpoint where exactly I should be going to get this phone totally stock. Zedomax thread is waaaaaay to outdated and almost everyone who tried the method posted on his website ran into problems. HTC makes some nice phones but I forgot how UN ROOT friendly they are.
To answer your question: my wife has a friend that is up for a Sprint contract renewal. She's interested in the Evo LTE 4G (which still goes for $200 with a new contract.) So what I'm going to do is GIVE her my phone for free and give her the $$$ to buy the NOTE 2 for me! Win Win!
Now, all I gotta do is unroot this POS so I can get this deal done.

Idk but this bump stuff seemed sketchy since the beginning
The bumped site went down because someone reverse engineered it and released on their own - making the site unnecessary since it can be done locally on a machine, but making it all but certain that devices upgraded to factory lollipop and beyond will be locked down tight.

Locked bootloader means no development. So.....
I guess its over for us unless the t-mobile unlock once released somehow works for us too. What a shame I doubt the t-mobile unlock will work as it would likely be for that variant only. Im done with Samsung
That's why I signed the t-mobile petition, and started one for Sprint. We need to pressure samsung on all fronts!

Oh yeah if you call Samsung ask for advanced tech support right out of the gate the people that first answer are not that aware of what a bootloader is. They always think that its about rooting even though similar they are very very different. Check this link out this one guy is claiming that rooting works.

I am not 100 percent sure but I bet the ceo gets Samsung to do it. I am only speculating at this point. I'm hopeful but just look at samsungs history with certain carriers. What we need is a way to sign a modified firmware with sammys keys but that would be nearly impossible.
If t-mobile gets n unlock method, I'm sure we will. Seeing as the hardware is the same, if we don't get one, one the awesome development here will find a way to make it work.

Kingroot doesn't work. OEM lock is basically reactivation lock.

Metal, what bad stuff besides possibly tripping knox would turning on OEM unlock and trying to root might happen? I guess this is like asking when the white rabbit is going to show up.

Metal have you seen the chainfire thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/sm-g930-exynos-cf-auto-root-t3337353
OEM unlock won't trip knox, Chainfire root will just fail and nothing will change. If we eventually get unlocked bootloaders, then yes, normal rooting will trip Knox and disable samsung pay.
Is it possible to flash say a stock image T-Mobile firmware on a Sprint variant (or any other US variant given that inside they are all the same device)?
