Put this file http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RTEY0Q97 to the TOOLS folder of the SDK (they were taken out by Google in the R08 version for some reason and need to be put back).
You should see a serial number pop up, it’s the serial number of your phone. This means you are all set.

the device manager shows android platform usb modem.. but not LGE virtual modem, as in this thread.. (this modem needs to be disabled)

I'm a little paranoid about bricking the phone and I didnt wanna take the risk needlessly ..
Is it enough to disable the usb modem and continue?

Hey guys
I got root, but then I changed the build prop to the one given in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2782159
However it didn't boot properly,i.e. only the grey logo showed up, then black screen. No bootloop.
Then I thought factory reset would fix it?
no. now the pc doesn't recognise it. Please help! Same grey logo stuff but no PC recognition.
Edit:
No luck yet, but I remember a way I did before.It's not quite the same situation but...
I left the kindle on for a long time, and pressed the power button beyond the point from where it showed out of battery screen. It had like no batterypower at ALL. Yhen i plugged back up to PC and...
I'm trying it out now, if anyone is in the same position as me do the same!
Remember,charge only about 1-2%,if it doesn't work!
Thank you guys a LOT for support! I am in process of getting adb and stuff to work on linux...
let's see how it goes...

Hashcode and I have talked about it. There IS a working fastboot, but you can't get to it with a fastboot cable, and it's very buggy and not too useful. So it sounds like you are SOL. Sorry. :/

Hi,
I was in the same situation. Luckily, the Kindle was semi-recognized with Linux (adb devices shows ??????? with no permissions), I just had to add the udev rules to allow the device listed in lsusb and then I was able to chmod build.prop to get everything back to work.
Hope it helps

Connect your device to your computer.
By typing "adb devices", you should get this output :
Code:
List of devices attached
???????????? no permissions
Then type "lsusb" and note the ID of the Google Device (Should be 18d1:0001, but I'm not sure you will get the same).
Edit the file "/etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules" and add the following lines (If the file doesn't exists create it). Replace 18d1 and 0001 with the values you get in lsusb :
Code:
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="18d1", MODE="0666"
SUBSYSTEM=="usb",ATTR{idVendor}=="18d1",ATTR{idProduct}=="0001",SYMLINK+="android_adb"
SUBSYSTEM=="usb",ATTR{idVendor}=="18d1",ATTR{idProduct}=="0001",SYMLINK+="android_fastboot"
Run "sudo chmod a+r /etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules".
Restart your computer and you should be access your device using "adb shell".
Follow this post to restore your device : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53388919&postcount=23

the OP has a problem that can be FIXED
you can often FIX a device which has a incorrect kernel flashed to a locked bootloader, parts of the bootloader are intact which keep the device working
your device may have bricked due to the fact that CM11 is still in a unstable state, any device can hard brick with CM11, its just rare.
now would you kindly quit posting irrelevant information.

Hey guys i have been using my dell tablet for more than a year. I also rooted it at the same time i bought the tab. Now a week ago when i was using my tab it was completly turned off. I have tried charging it for a day nothing happens. it dosent Show any Boot animation or charging animation nor does it even enter fastboot mode. It doesn't even turn on. It has just become like a paper weight. When i connect it to pc, it shows under the Device Manager CLOVERVIEW PLUS Device. I checked out some other posts and it shows reflashing it through xFTSK, but i searched everywhere but it doesn't have any firmware or software for Dell Venue 7 HSPA+ 3730. Pls Guys Help me out here, really appreciated. Thanks.

if it is showing up a response in Device Manager then it means your boot is still alive. There is hope brother, so first of all we need to know if it has juice or not?
also please READ some stuff here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/intel-android-devices-root-temp-cwm-t2975096
and download and extract this package http://https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23622183712464837 from @social-design-concepts and please don't flash stuff just right away. I would suggest that you read first what they have to say, then cautiously proceed with the Toolkit.
do also thank @social-design-concepts on his thread by the way.. :good:

and then there is the good old METHOD number 2,
it's easier as far as I know,
make an easy ADB folder.
Just boot in FASTBOOT mode.
extract the ::Venue_7_3G_KK4.4.2v1.33_FLASHPKG.7z:: archive
and take out Venue_7_3G_KK4.4.2v1.33.system.img.gz (place it in same folder as adb.
after that in fastboot mode
write command
fastboot flash system Venue_7_3G_KK4.4.2v1.33.system.img.gz

wait for it to finish.
after that fastboot reboot
and profit!

It might be possible that the charging IC has been damaged, if after a continuous 2/3 hour connection with PC/charger the tablet does not turn on. Means it isn't getting enough charge to even boot up. It might be a good idea to get it checked by a technician but I am afraid parts/ replacements and finding an expert on Dell devices is quiet rare because of it's less popularity.
yeah even i am thinking it is a hardware problem, if i was a software problem, i might have been able to solve it on my own.
Anyway's thanks for help.

Hello guys, it looks like this forum is still alive (unlike my phone lol) so let me explain what happened to my D620r.
Firstly - my friend bricked the phone during bootloader unlock process (xD rip) now the phone shows up as QDLoader 9008 yesterday it was like "QHSUSB_BULK" or something like this but after installing some drivers its QDLoader now lol xD (sometimes QDLoader disappears from device manager AND SHOWS UP AS http://imgur.com/a/qJSzE then i have to click the testpoint again)
BASICALLY
I'VE TRIED DOING THIS https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
nothing happened
and btw all partitions disappeared now there's only QDLoader in Device Manager that's all
Try this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g2-mini/general/guide-unbrick-bricked-wrong-aboot-img-t3128896
Nope, screen dont even light up when i connect the phone (one case was when i connected phone without battery then screen was lighting up but now there's nothing) btw im trying this right now https://forum.xda-developers.com/g2-mini/help/lg-g2-minid620r-hard-brick-recovery-t3543466 but i dont really know how to use this emmc software download app
You can follow the procedure in post #2 of the thread I linked.
