I got a nextbook 7 for Christmas last year and wanted to root it, but I couldn't find any useful guides because of a lack of links to needed files.
My. tablets model number is NX700QC if that is important. Any help received is greately appreciated.
I'm looking for root for this thing as well
Any luck yet?

No luck yet it seems. People seem to know how to root the nextbook 7 premium though.

And didn't catch the name of the user suggesting cyanogen mod but I'm sorry to say that it probably won't be of any use but some of the apps can be used on any rooted tablet/phone if I'm not mistaken.
Well I got the full 16gigs now... Anyone heard anything new on rooting the nx700qc with Android 4.4.2?

Hello,
I have a new tablet now (Toshiba Regza AT570) with Android 4.0.3 - it's possible to rooting this gadget? It has no branding.
Edit:
(Maybe in the outside of Japan is the tablet called as "Toshiba Excite 7.7")
Any idea, which tool I can use to root it?

There's not much happening on the Thrive Forums for the Excite/Regza 7.7 series.

ASUS seem to be? - I've got an ASUS Padfone 2 and they seem to provide everything you need on their own website!

Ya but by the looks of it the padphone doesnt work in the USA.
Yeah Samsung is pretty much the "root friendliest" AFAIK, their phones are always super easy to root and have a lot of developer support. LG has the newest Nexus phone though, it's real nice, no expandable memory but you can get at least 50GB of cloud storage for free without even looking for more than five minutes.

I want to know and have searched everywhere and blew up a ton of mainboard pics without a answer. Im going to have a local electronics expert get eather a 64 or a 128gb flash memory. Hopeing the new generation of the super fast ones. And clone my 16gb stock one and solder it into my main board. I know its overkill. But I would have a maxed out note 2. I just dont wana rip mine apart just to get the number. Im hoping some has it already. Thanks

I am very eager to do this as well as upgrade other hardware components (camera, speakers, lte antenna, etc). I hope you are successful in the memory swap. I will let you know if I have any luck.

The 16GB is part of the NAND. Replacing the whole thing might not be too hard. Getting it working again will be.
Yea ill see once I get a 64 or 128 chip. Again after I find out the pinout of the stock one. And find a flashing jig to clone the 16's memory onto it. Ill keep you guys informed but I still need the numbers. Thers a electronic store about 20 miles from me thats loaded to the brim with anything you could dream of and the owner has a lot of jigs and he told me he could clone if / when I find the oe number and if he has it.

I have all the new part numbers from samsung. Have the owner ready to do it. Would anybody be willing to donate a doner phone or somw funds for a phone and some chips. I dont wana decommission my phone. I need it fir everyday stuff and for work. So if people wana get a fund going and if it works out all donaters would get priority on this hard mod. What do you guys think?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
Never mind. It would be better to have something to show before asking for a 500 phone.

No I have one. And dont realy wana brake mine . If no one wants in thats fine. I may go forward I may not. Idk

And I was more thinking of if someone lost and then found there phone after they got anew one. Or thers got broken screen and got a hole phone as a replacement kinda thing.

Hey dude just ignore me. All I was saying is hard to get a device for recognized developers who is going to produce a product. It may be hard to get one to a new member with an experimental idea, but your never know. It would be awesome if it worked!
Sent from my SCH-I605 (AKA NOTE 2)
Someone could also donate 600 bucks to me and I'll play the lottery...IF the tickets win the donators will get priority of the winnings.
Well if I get it going ill update on progress. It would change tha game if I can get it to work . But I do need to comeup with the funding eather myself or with help. But gota love s.a. remarks. I guess I no who will not get any if it works.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
But how it would work. Is have people send me there mainboard. I have/do the upgrade. Flash/clone there old memory and send it back. It would be like your phones the same with just extra sd0 card space.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
Like do you guys remember the ddwrt mods for the wrt54's where you upgraded the flash memory to a bigger chip to get mega ddwrt on one that could only run the minis or not flashable at all. Its just an idea. I dont like being held back by verizon and samsung to only 16gb. I need help is why I started this tread. Yea could use coin. But more for info from people that are good at flashing/programming experience. And info on the stock chip. Just stufd to see if or make this happen. That is all.

People on XDA get skittish when people want money for work unseen or high risk jobs. It is compounded by your unknown status in the community.
You will have to build a reputation with the community or show evidence that you can actually do this (I don't actually think you can). Until then, you will have to put up with the smart ass remarks.
I no im new regestered wise but I have been along for years just never realy signed up or made posts. But yea I hear what yall are saying . If it works it worka if not o well. But samy charges 100 to go from 16 to 32. Or 200 to 64. Say the chips costed 30 and I paid someone labor to do soldering an ad flashing say 50. I and a bunch of others would jump on the opertunity. But yea trial and error for now. But a 128gb note 2 and a 64 sd would be money!

Adryn said he didn't think it would work. I don't think I said that. However I actually don't think it will because I would imagine there is kind of major software mods that would need to be done. Kind of like how phones have limits on the size of sd cards they can use. But I'm no developer so I could be completely off, if it did work though it would be sick to have 64gb internal!

Yea I just saw you didnt post it I saw the thanks on his post . I think software thing maybee on the 128 nut they made a 64 international one on or around launch day. Idk

Ya I was thanking him for clarifying what I was trying to say. It may work, but he is a dev and doesn't think it will maybe some kernel changes will be needed or use the international kernel. ...I wouldn't really know

I wouldn't be surprised if that never happens. It's our L9 and we barely have development.

talk about "being stuck".. last year spend about 2 Grand on personal stuff, now I've have to tolerate this phone for at least 3 more years, hopes on LG 4.4 kitkat update.
Well I'm getting a Nokia Lumia 920 next week or after that, it's getting shipped to me. I don't know what color it is, but I'm excited about being introduced to WP8
I might get the Jolla and go for the true Linux phone without all of this bootloader nonsense.

I've never heard of a Jolla. I'll look it up later.
They have some unboxing and hands on clips on YouTube. The Sailfish os is still new but they are constantly updating. By later this year, it should be all good. A good feature is the ability to install android apps. Not all of the apps work yet but that's why they are updating.

I watched one video of the Jolla phone and I wasn't really thrilled with the phone. But that's just my honest opinion. If you get it, enjoy.
Basically, as owners of this tablet. I was wondering if I should get it. All the specs seem good, the reviews I have read are almost all positive. I have managed to find one used for Canadian 200$. Should I buy and why or why not.
Thanks

it depends on the future use. I wouldn't recommend buying it for games, cause it's not the fastest one on the market now, but for everything else if you have the money, why not?
