When I was using my chromecast yesterday I noticed my tablet wasn't deep sleeping. Don't think I had this problem on my Nexus 7.
As far as your issue, are you running stock?

Yep, completely stock...

Download GSam battery monitor from the app store to see what's running and eating your battery

Found out what was eating the battery...
Wi-Fi was preventing my Cpu from deep sleep.
Does anyone experienced something like that?

Hi,
I experienced the same issue yesterday.
How did you fix it ? Because I tried to reboot with no effect...

I had a similar issue.
I went into the advanced wifi settings and set "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" to Never.
Now I get reasonable battery drain when the tablet isn't in use.

I have the same problem, but setting "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" to Never makes my N9 not to receive notifications because the wifi is off when the tablet is locked.
Is there any other way to fix this?

If you enable 3G and WiFi at the same time Android will only use one connection, first will try to connect via WiFi and if not will connect via 3G. It won't connect via WiFi AND 3G at the same time.
Yes its normal.
looks pretty similar to what I have seen on mine.
The main exception is the Awake time without the sreen being on? Maybe something still running. I found my biggest battery killer for backround apps was my Jorte / calendar running when using alarms on appointments.
stopped that and much better!
Alright thnx mate and how do u came to know that which app created problems regarding awake ?
seems to be awake for quite a bit there in the middle without the screen on. is that just music streaming??
its normal

Better Battery stats is very helpfull for seeing what is potentially eating battery life, whilst the screen is of.
This is a thread on maximising battery life - quite helpfull! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351663&highlight=better+battery+stat
This thread explains and shows what Android OS is and is not - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18140918
Here is thread for better battery stats, well worth a read all the way through the first 2 posts - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
The partial Wakelocks was the most telling for me, cant remember the exect procces now but for me it was something like: android.starting.alarm.calendar (I know thats not it exact, but it was always high!!)

Should I exchange this note 3 for this pathetic battery life?

Wifi, sync, gps are all off for most of the time. Power saving mode is always on.
I am only getting 2.5 hours of screen on time. Just Web browsing, no games.
Android OS is taking 46% of the battery, which had been the case for a week now. I factory reset the phone 3 times already not it didn't change anything.
I installed a battery monitor app few days ago, find out that under android os, something called w1_bus_master is the main cause but I can't get any info about it.
Maybe the weak 3g signal keep draining the battery? But if I turn off the data at night and kill all the process and the battery only drop 3%.

Try a factory data reset

Since you have a weak 3g signal I'm assuming you do not have 4g in your area. Have you tried putting the phone in cdma only mode? It's under the connections tab then more networks>mobile networks>network mode. Also force stop Google play services.

[Q] Fast Dormancy?

Hi,
Just curious for the Z2, is there a way to check the fast dormancy setting? I like to turn it on if it is off.
Thanks
I just uninstalled the app.

yeah used titanium backup

I had this problem with my xperia Z ultra. Something to do with the 3G network which causes battery drain. Uninstalled it on that, didn't see a difference.
I use fast reboot to clear ram on my phone, and it pops up with com.sonyerricson.android.wakeup which is in fact fast dormancy.
I'm now using 4G and I guess its still running! Causing battery drain. But as I'm not rooted I can't check wakelock detector to see If it is actually draining battery.
So annoyed by this, my galaxy s3 didn't have this problem
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Free mobile app
I'm not sure what to look for since I'm not rooted to check the setting.
install Better Battery Stats and check for Alarms !

Is it listed under a different name, cant see it in the list?
You do need to be rooted but there is an uninstall option in titanium backup. See attached, albeit for a different system app
You may also be able to freeze it
Browser 4.4. is not Fast Dormancy, as I said I dont see anything fastdormany-like on my list. Of course its rooted, does TB even do anything without root?
On Android 4 I always deleted the apk, but with TB it would be more elegant.
I think that currently Fast Dormancy does a good job switching Networks.
I've deleted it now on. 726 and my network is ALWAYS active on 4g.....
So there are a lot of Wakelocks. Yes. But overall batterydrain is reduced due to better mobile network connections.
BTW here you can see fast dormancy settings for. 726 CH swisscom.
I'm on a provider that does not support ist, so I guess I could get rid of the wakelocks without any restrictions.

[Q] Nexus 9 Randomly Powers Off

I have a weird issue with my nexus. About a week ago I was using it bed time with about 50% battery, put it down and woke up next day and battery was completely depleted. I was watching a flash video so I thought maybe Puffin running flash could cause this so I ignored it. (maybe it continued to run in the background)
Today however, I wrote up to find out my Nexus had turned off again over night without the battery being depleted. It's as if it decided to turn off on its own. I want doing anything fancy with it either. Was just browsing, put it on my desk, wake up next day and it was turned off.
Had anyone else got this issue? Or have an idea what might be wrong,?
It actually happened to me again last night. Is there a log file somewhere I can have a look at that does system crashes or something before I RMA it?

On the shield there is an auto shutdown feature where you can have the tablet shutdown after a given duration of inactivity.
I don't know if there is a similar setting on the Nexus 9 but it may be a possibility.

Thanks

Dont think the Nexus has such option
My Nexus 9 has done this a few times. Last night I started a movie in bed, couldn't finish it, so I went to bed. I woke up and went to check my tablet and the double tap wouldn't wake it up. I had to hold the power button down for 30 seconds before It booted.
Ok, @ombadboy, could you please show a screen shot of settings/battery/Usage.
This should show a list of apps which are consuming your battery. From the one which most consumes it to the least.
Then just to make sure also post a screenshot of settings/apps/running.
From this we can see which apps have highest running priority, and are using too much RAM.
