hey that was quick. thanks
Flashed it twice yesterday. Once just the ROM + SuperSu and the second time ROM + Kernal (AGni) + SuperSu... Twice it remained stuck on the Samsung Logo for over 10 minutes.
Both times it was a clean install with everything wiped.

No, I'm on the 4.4.2 bootloader. Maybe it was just a bad download (which I doubt because it flashed), but let's see if anyone else has the same issue.
Anybody flashed it successfully? thx for feedback

Yes, have a look at my first comment. Tried it with and without AGni. Same issue, it's stuck at Samsung logo. Good luck, hope you fix the problem.

Hi, Is there any mode the device can boot into? Download mode? If the recovery flash went wrong you can still go into download mode. Do this by pressing (Vol Down + Home + Power ) all at the same time.
More information about the device would be great as well, ROM etc. :good::highfive:

Dear Friends,
I did updated my CWM with CWM_6.0.4.7_I9100.zip. It installed properly. I restarted the phone and its now showing the SGS2 Logo and then black screen.
I can get into recovery. Need help to revive it again. Though I m searching for the threads and posts in the forum. but any direct reference would be handful. My handset details and history of rooting and CWM update are as below :
Rooted with PhilZ Touch 5 Build Version 5.08.5 - i9100 CWM Base Version 6.0.3.3. with Stock ROM. updated CWM, with CWM_6.0.4.7_I9100.zip, by installing Zip option using recovery .

The CWM 6.0.4.7 is only useful to you to directly upgrade to a kitkat rom. When you flashed the recovery it replaced your kernel. Only use the newer recovery if you want to flash a new rom. Otherwise it is of no use to you.
So you can either use CWM 6.0.4.7 to flash kitkat or just flash the philz kernel you used before. You might need to wipe cache and dalvik cache before you reboot(this won't wipe any data).

Thanks again Noppy22. That really helped me understand the cause and I've revived it back to original.
This time took backup of everything, which I didn't even after reading in each and every OP to take backup first and then move on. Well then thats the way to learn

It's the Lollipop version for the nordic countries. Much more stable.
No, it will not trigger KNOX. Do not flash a custom recovery, that will trigger KNOX.
It's safe to flash. Go for it.
Yes, it's official Samsung firmware.

I read in another forum that when we flash a rom without the hidden image, the modem is not updating and we have to :
a) extract the rom and find modem.bin
b) open odin and flash modem.bin in the CP section of odin.
Can someone verify that this is true?

I thought I would flash this to see if this fixes the wireless charging problem, but it does not. At present, on Lollipop the phone does not fully charge via Qi. Only charges upto 69%.
Is there a way to root this version?

Hello everyone,
Firstly, I would like to apologize if this question has been answered before, I simply cannot find the answer for it. So I am currently rooted on 5.1.1 with, (according to the About Device section of my phone)
Kernel version:
3.10.61-S6_Unikernel_v9-0000initial
[email protected] #1
Thu Sep 10 19:10:19 BST 2015
Build Number: XtreStoLite Deo Mod v.2.4 - XXU3COI9
According to my model number, it says my model number is SM-G925K, but my original build number was SM-G925W8.
Also, I am using TWRP recovery
So like I have started in the title, I would like to update to 6.0.1 stock, and then root it and install a custom rom. I have bought my phone from Rogers, and am on a 2 year contract with them.
I am COMPLETE noob when it comes to this, so anything to help is appreciated, I recently switched from iPhone to Android
EDIT #1: I am only asking this question because my carrier has not rolled out the firmware yet, and I am not on stock firmware anymore so I was wondering if it was possible to update, I don't want to end up with a bricked device

Okay so instead of updating via smartswitch, I downloaded the firmware via a website (not sure if I am able to mention it here, but I won't anyway) for my model (SM-G925W8) and flashed it via Odin. Then I rooted via CF-AutoRoot by Chainfire, and am currently installing Xtrestolite 3.3.1

SELinux is a set of kernel modifications and user-space tools
u dont need custom kernel as my opinion
custom kernels with comes Permissive
and official kernels comes with enforcing

I don't know if this is significant, but the reason I asked about SELinux is because when I open TWRP manager and it tells me my TWRP version, it says Please set SELinux to Permissive in order to view this
Hi, new here with a little knowledge
Want to downgrade from 7.0 to 6.0.1 and believe I can do this using Odin, and have a version of 6.0.1 from sammobile.com.
my first attempt failed as sw check failed - device 5, binary 4.
So have downloaded a version binary 5 of 6.0.1 but this is BTU sw not the VOD version that's currently on the device.
I am a Voda UK customer with a locked device - can I load the BTU version on my device or does anyone know where I can find a binary v5 of the VOD 6.0.1 firmware?
thanks in advance.

You can flash BTU on to your device, however there's a chance Wi-Fi calling and voLTE will not work.
However the bad news... You can't downgrade once the bootloader has been updated. If you try it will fail, most likely at sboot.bin

Read up this thread. The guy flashed 6.0.1 BTU over 7.0 and it worked fine without issue. If you download your firmware from http://updato.com it comes in 5 files. Then you can flash the 6.0.1 BL separately.

I root my device with SuperSU and Magisk but when done and phone start up its netwotk was disable.
then is safe to root with magisk yet since people's network isn't working with root well yet. I think I'm gonna stay with the oreo stock for now till I'm sure its working out well for others.

hi Gary.i followed your post and it rooted but started freezing and lagging during fresh install . and my network is blocked so I can't even use wifi or finish the setup during boot after rooting with magisk. I have reverted back to stock but is there anyway around it?
