CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 5.0.x (Lollipop), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
About CM
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Why not?I used RR for about two weeks,and today switched to this.For now everything seems OK.I'll keep cm and test further.
In next build I will set interactive governor with PA tweaks. It boost cm12 a lot I also hack settings to get working performance profiles and cpu settings in the same time
Are you going to build both CM12 and RR? Will you add the same features to both (like the interactive governor you said)?

Yes, I will do it. RR is based on CM so switching source and apply fixes is pretty easy

This is SiMaRom - Simple Mako Rom
I started with some customizations of RasSaber from rascarlo and sparksco for myself to learn how to build and customize android systems, working with git etc.
After rascarlo and sparksco decided to take a brake I published my "Customized RasSaber" and enhanced it quite a bit.
Then JellyBean 4.3 hit the floor and I decided to start from the scratch with an AOSP ROM and tweak it exactly the way I want JellyBean to be.
And this is SiMaRom.

Installation:
full wipe if coming from a different rom, else skip this step
if not a fullwipe I recommend a wipe cache/dalvik cache
flash zip
flash gapps-package of your liking (I currently use Banks one)

I could be wrong but I think this is a problem, currently every 4.3 ROM has.
As far as I can remember you have to install the keyboard from the playstore.
But will have a look into it :cyclops:

I believe any 4.3 ROM based on JSS15J AOSP has this problem. The ROMs based on Android 4.3 JWR66V factory image don't have this problem.

What Gapps did you flash? Try DroidTheory or Banks! I initially had same problem with Banks so I tried DroidTheory and it works for me now.

Why choose for CarbonRom?

There are two ways to use this interface.

How to use the app FauxSound Audio/Sound Control is pretty self explanatory so I will write on how to control using the sysfs interface...
BEFORE DOING ANY ADJUSTMENTS EXIT THE APPS LIKE MUSIC PLAYER/etc!!
The interface to control the sound output is located at:

(the number in the brackets correspond to the numbers displayed in the app)
say if u want to boost headphone output (both left and right channels) then use the following command:

u can also individually increase/decrease the gain for each right and left channel
similarly other interfaces can be controlled
TIP:
do not jump to maximum values as sometimes the headphones/speakers might start distorting the audio... slowly increase and do testing for the levels which suit you!
not all accessories will work well with boosted audio output
All of this wouldn't be possible without @Kali- and @Bin4ry helping with stuff and setting up device tree etc

Carbon settings/ lock screen/ targets - holding the lock icon makes carbon settings not respond
Also wifi and mobile icons not displayed on reboot. Shows 2 bars sometimes... (i think you know that bug though)
So far everything else is working.. camera is stock CM10.2 so thats always gonna be better than Sony.
Dark Carbon theme will save battery a little.. and looks better..
Over all a good experience...

its black Vs grey. Grey uses more while backlight, so will use more display, hence more battery. Not much, probably 3-4% each day..
I have been sharing my CM7/CM9/CM10/CM10.1/CM10.2/CM11-based builds for several devices. Now that I moved over to Nexus 5 as my daily driver, it is also time to mackay MackayROM for this device. MackayROM was first based on CyanogenMod sources, but I decided to move over to Omni as base for my ROM

No center clock for cm. I may add it later, I like it myself especially on tablet. But also nice for phone I guess.

I have ported most of the kernel feature controls from Synapse to Kernel Adiutor (GT-I9100) and modified Package Name & App Name of the original Kernel Adiutor by Grarak to avoid conflicts ONLY.

Dude, let me know if you're successfully mounting folder (especially between internal & external storage)..
As i've tried anything i have to alternate internal storage to external storage on Nougat.. i've nearly give up as "Link2sd" app also won't work..

im currently on aicp 12 and i tried this kernel,now my phone never get to deepsleep at all..my battery life is on a constant downhill...

I'm in AICP 12.1 build 7 Feb, the kernel works great, and the phone get to deepsleep as normal, maybe a problem of the build you're using...
Can someone post the best CPU and Governor settings for this kernel in the Adiutor for flawless running with bigger apps - always on 1200 MHz - is somebody working permanent with 1200 MHz, what about battery drain?

I don't think always running on 1200MHz will be good, think about cpu and battery temperature our device already have heating problems though. If you want you can try pegasusqplus I felt bit smoother with this one
UPDATE: From next build kernel will also support cm13
An other experience with the crDroid ROM @GreekDragon (latest build 01/26) . It runs good, flawless and smooth with the following settings:
CPU: min. 1000 MHz, max. 1200 MHz
Governor: pegasusqplus
I/O Scheduler: noop
Read-Ahead: 1280 kB
But: I have no more deepsleep and a little swap, see the following screenshots. The deepsleep mode in this ROM also doesn't work with the integrated power management, switched on "performance".

Here is a live test with AICP 12.1 build 02/07 - the deepsleep mode works perfect. CPU on both cores with 1200 MHz, no significant heat development - core 1 turns off if not in use. I've played with the I/O and came up for the most smooth run and the fastest response to the "deadline" setting - see screenshots.
Would you adjust the kernel to crDroid too (see above)? It's a wonderful Nougat ROM on Lineage base - I mean the deepsleep issues may be fixed by @GreekDragon.
