Does anyone know what the actual wifi chipset(EX broadcom bcm4354) used in the z ultra is?
looks like the kernel source call it the "pronto" and uses the "prima" wifi driver. A google search doesn't really give me much
Answer for posterity:WCN3680
single spatial stream 802.11ac, max throughput 230mbps or roughly half of what is peak for that particular ac configuration.

Does anyone know the maximum published speed of the IR port on an XDA I? I've been looking all over but have found many conflicting reports.
why don't you give it a try .. connect it to the laptop and check transmission speed, i.e. speed at which connection has been established
regards, monika
I've done it before on a friends laptop, its usually about 14k a second
Negotiated speed of the IR port on my XDA and notebook is 115kbps
Average speed ~85kbps

Max IR port speed...
Interesting, when I use Wmodem I only get 9.6K out of the IR port, when I use the IR port for Active Sync, I get 115kbs (less overhead of about 20kbps). Now I've opened up a hornets nest because I want to know why Wmodem has such a low transmission speed. Has anybody else witnessed this strange behavior?
I believe you will not get 115kb transfer speed using wmodem because of the limitation on the wmodem connection (give or take around 9.6k for gsm dialup and 56k for gprs). If you use your infrared port to link to another source for file transfer you may get the 115kb transfer rate on the infrared port if the other source can transfer/receive at that speed. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I in no way claim to be the "know-it-all" in this area. Thanks.
I get about 0.5mb/s speed on the local Wi-Fi network. I get up to 8mb/s on the computer (802.11N card). What about you? Maybe it depends on kernel/rom..?

Little answer please

You didn't get an answer because this info is easily found via a Google search Look for the SGS2 entry at Wikipedia, then follow the links to the article on the relevant WiFi standards.
Oh yeah "802.11 a/b/g/n Wifi" is it? Do you know which speed each of these letters is supposed to give..? I do, so i'm going to tell you that with 802.11n (which my router fully support) you're supposed to get up to 450mb/s. In reality you get let less, but it's still up to about 250mb/s, now you can even divide that by eight, which result in 31,25, far from 0.5 (the speed i get, if not lower, which my 1st post mention, did you read it fully..?) isn't it? Now you might see things that others don't, if so just tell me.
Hmm..?

It depends on many things. Bug in the kernel, faulty hardware, the distance from the router (phones have smaller antennae than laptops due to the size constraint, so laptops will constantly get higher strength signal than phones), faulty routers are all factors, if your phone is the only wifi device that's not getting the speed it should.
I don't know what the real life max speed of GS2 is, but I've hit somewhere between 20~50Mbps on a N router that has 1000Mbps internet connection (~750Mbps realistically, and I wasn't the only one connected to the router). So it should be able to get 8Mbps that your computer is getting, assuming the GS2 is right next to the router.
It doesn't change depending on placing.. And I can go faster when downloading. So I don't think hardware is défective..

I just got a gigabit connection, and my 2x2 mimo laptop is able to get close to 600mbps down aI just got a gigabit connection, and my 2x2 mimo laptop is able to get close to 600mbps down and up on wifi, but my phone struggles to even pass 200 (with a link speed of 867). What are the maximum that you guys are seeing, and do you have an tips or settings to achieve that? My sisters' iPhone is able to get over 500mbps down, so my Moto Z should be able to as well.
Even my old LG G4 which has a link speed of 433 can download 270+ with no sweat.nd up on wifi, but my phone struggles to even pass 200. What are the maximum that you guys are seeing, and do you have an tips or settings to achieve that?
Why?
Umm, so I can maximize my speed and download faster? WTF kind of question is that?

Sorry, but I can't imagine for what purpose you could use 200+ Mbit/s transferrates on a Smartphone. Regardless of my personal opinion, I have absolutely no clue how to "optimize" the settings to reach these rates. But I will test it for myself so I can provide you some comparative values. :good:

Hello, two days ago I bought this great little thing that is X96 Mini 2GB 16GB
I had everything ready and installed but there was this one little yet huge problem which was the slow internet speed
I have 4 Mbps internet but I always got at best results 1.2 Mbps on X96 Mini
on all other devices I got the full 4Mbps so I after a LOOOONG and boring search though the internet I came up with the solution (finally)
I use D-Link 2740U 300Mbps*
.
keep in mind the things that I tried and DID NOT work for me:
1) I updated the firmware to the latest stock version (OTA) which is 20180512.
2) I flashed a custom ROM which is atvXperience by*NayamAmarshe, (if you don't know about it yet then go check it out, it made everything better and faster (EVERYTHING) and I thank him for his great work) but unfortunately it didn't solve my main problem.
3) I heard that changing the encryption type on my wifi router settings from Mixed (TKIP+AES) to AES only would solve the issue, tried that.. it was temporarily solved (30 mins) then it was back just like before.
one of the things that helped me find the solution was this, when I send something through the router to the device the speed did not pass 1.4 Mbps.. when I send something DIRECTLY the speed was normal (20 Mbps or even more)
so the key thing is in the router settings, nothing is wrong on the devices side
I started playing with the router settings till I finally finally GOT TO THE POINT
THE SOLUTION IS:
you need to change the WiFI Band from 2.4 Ghz (B+G+N) TO 2.4 Ghz (B) OR 2.4 Ghz (B+G)
after changing this setting I was able to get my full router speed at all times no matter how far the device is from the router (6 meters is the distance that I am dealing with)
the problem is that the N stands for newer bands which is okay and supported in most devices but not totally on X96 mini, so when the router detects that a device is using an older band, it kinda sets the priority to the newer devices (that's what I understood from a small article explaining the difference among these bands)
anyways I am very happy to see my X96 Mini buffering 1080p YouTube videos without a glitch (yes atvXperienve gives you 1080p YouTube playback) and I wanted to share my Xperience with you
have a good day.. *Bye

This can be done by modding the /system/etc/wifi confirguration files
My poison rom for example has additional modifications thus why the big speed increase.
Functions like checksum offloading, timeouts etc are all optimized

Could you share the modified files for x905w chips? We can just swap them with the original ones and we are good to go..
BTW thanks for the info
I'm super keen to know some tips on modding the wifi config file as I have the same problem. I had to run another wifi network via my router (which I had turned off) instead of using my ubiquiti AP as I cannot change the band settings on the AP. 2 networks at home is not my ideal setup.
Ricky Divjakovski can you provide an insight at all??
Thanks
My router won't allow me to do just B/G. The x96 has been slower that ever. Can we actually mod the wifi config file to help?
HI everyone! I have two X96 mini tv boxes with different stocks.
One of them opens this program without any problem. Link for program is here:
https://cloud.mail.ru/stock/7uRgfhaTfR9ebxC4Nj58cd9X
Another tv box doesn't open this program. Opens then closes in a few seconds. Can u help me please. what is the prolem?
I need this program!
Thank you for your attention!
I have also changed router setting as mentioned above but my wifi is still very slow
When i connect through mobile hotspot it runs fine and when i connect x96 mini with wifi router it works slow
Kindly help how to resolve the issue
Hello,
So I recently made a first time purchase of android box H96 Max X2.
All is fine, however I noticed the wifi speed is really slow. The speed test shows I'm getting 4 mbps instead of the normal 35 mbps I'm getting from other devices.
I'm pretty sure its due to the weak wifi antennae in the box. My question is, can I plug in a USB Wifi adapter? Will it be compatible with the box?
Many Thanks,
I tried 2 USB WiFi dongles ,EDUP & Mediatec .
BOX doesn't see them
Hi, I have 2 brand new Nokia 7.2 and an old (my previous phone) Nokia 5.1 Plus, and I have a problem that it's freaking me out. The issue is very simple, I almost cannot navigate while using a WiFi connection in my main Nokia 7.2, I have to use the mobile data connection so I can watch a video without any lag or resolution issue but that is not ideal.
So, I perform some test and I find out that my 7.2 does have like 50% of speed from WiFi (both in 5GHz and 2.4GHz) compared to the 5.1, and I'm not talking about external speed test, but in LAN (between my phone connected by WiFi, and my computer connected by gigabit ethernet) using iperf3.
After testing I got this results:
(Result's format: '-Band: AVG Speed (Min Speed -> Max Speed)')
Nokia 5.1 Plus:
-5GHz: 241Mbps AVG (214Mbps -> 252Mbps)
-2.4GHz: 41Mbps AVG (31.5Mbps -> 53.1Mbps)
Nokia 7.2 (both):
-5GHz: 116Mbps AVG (85.9Mbps -> 140Mbps)
-2.4Ghz*: 24.3Mbps AVG (18.5Mbps -> 29.2Mbps)
* I did perform like 3 tests in this case, and those numbers are from the best result. The worst result was like 15.6Mbps AVG
And that is not all. The setup is all the same. Same wireless router (I have 2, and I always check that both phone are connected to the best one), same phone position (like 0.5 meters away from the router, even less), the computer (server) is not doing anything that could use the network card or the CPU, and of course testing one phone first then the other one, and then doing the same but swiping the order. Also both phones (5.1 Plus and my main 7.2) show that have the same link speed (433Mbps) and both phones have Android 9 (Android 10 is not here yet).
The only difference between the 5.1 and the 7.2 is that the 5.1 has 802.11a while the 7.2 doesn't, but the issue about that is that standard is for 5GHz (and it's just for 54Mbps), so I don't think that this is the issue, because that should mean that the 2.4GHz's speed should be the same.
Also, is not like a hardware malfunction beacuse, as I said before, I did the same test with both 7.2 that I have and both have exactly the same issue.
I want to know if anyone has (or had) the same issue. I think that this could be a mis-setting or another battery saver package included in the OS limitating the speed just like when 5.1 had a battery saver that limitates the Background processes
Hi. I didn't experience as much as you did but I can confirm the phone is pretty slow on WiFi. My friend's Samsung J7 loads videos easily while mine gets stuck on buffering for eternity. I looked for this problem on Nokia Forums but I couldn't find anyone experiencing it beside me. I did read somewhere that forgetting your network and adding it again might solve it. I know, it doesn't make any sense and I might be delusional but I think the speed is a bit better now!
Anyway, I still believe there's a problem regarding WiFi speed on this phone. Perhaps it's a software thing just like you said. Anyone else who can provide an explanation of some kind?
