I have a X10 mini, after flashing the custom kernel by nAa and my phone wont make phone calls and use wifi. However when I tried to reflash into stock, it still wont work. How should I fix this without resorting it to flashing back to stock via Pc companion?

Hi
I have ics and i am going to install gb kernel&rom
I will make back up in my recovery now .. When i install the new gb kernel & rom can i restore all thing or i need to flash my current ics kernel to restore my current system and all thing ?
To restore an ICS firmware, you only need a Recovery. You can restore the backup from Gingerbread, but then don't forget to flash ICS kernel, otherwise the phone won't boot properly
I have xperia mini ST15i rooted with stock kernel and ROM ICS. Now I want to use some custom ROM like CM10 JB for it but there is no way to install the clockworkmode recovery on it I tried a tutorial which let me install the tool on my device ad I installed the ROM manger but it is reporting that CWM is not compatible with my device. When I press the Backup current ROM it just reboot and nothing happens, while in article they recommend the CWM to use a custom ROM.
I tried to install the CWM from http://mobilecon.info/install-sony-xperia-clockworkmod-for-ics-and-gingerbread.html
It is installing it but no way to use it.
I'm looking on this article to install the JB on my device.
http://www.teamandroid.com/2012/09/21/update-xperia-mini-st15i-st15a-android-411-jelly-bean-cm10-custom-firmware/
Now I want to know how can I use CWM to use make a recovery of stock ROM and use custom ROM, also how can I go back to stock ROM if custom ROM doesn't work.

Try downloading xparts/xperia parts from playstore and install it. Hope your device is rooted when you try it
Btw for cyanogenmod you have to unlock the bootloader which voids warranty. If you want to unlock look in my signature there's a guide!

I have already tried xparts but it also say that its not compatible with my device while I have rooted my phone already.
Check the command prompt log. is it saying successful installation?if then pressing the correct key after sony logo appears on start-up will put it on the CWM

First of all, download the stock firmware from here: http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/35239?start=0&tstart=0 (For security,if anytime, anything goes wrong..you can revert back to your stock)
Flashtool for flashing custom rom and kernel: http://androxyde.github.com/index.html?1350887833000
You can flash a custom kernel with CWM. I am using kernel Panic : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1861905
Firmware Flashing tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695514
You have to unlock bootloader for flashing custom kernel.I think for flshing JB,sooner or later, you have to flash custom kernel anyway.Decide about unlocking bootloader.Searc google for "Official bootloader unlocking method"
Note: Installed CWM sometimes doesn't work if your phone gets stuck at sony logo after flashing custom roms. But custom kernel's CWM stays allways active. So,it is better.Just take a backup before flashing custom rom

But why should he unlock bootloader if he only wants to install cwm?
@OP: Please make some screenshots of the installation progress in cmd and in the app. This error message could maybe help us :good:
Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1773227 it should work with locked bl too
then you need to reboot your phone and try to press volume down for multiple times when kernel logo (sony) appears
Hi!
I updated to 4.1.B.0.587 and tried rooting but it's impossible. The only method I found involved flashing an older kernel from other phone model, but all except one can't be flashed because Flashtool pops an error. The ST18i kernel is the one that can be flashed, but on restart it gives a black screen. The only way to get out from there is to flash back the original 4.1.B.0.587 firmware for my phone.
Any idea what to do there?
If not, I'm aware you can unlock the bootloader and install whatever you want. I understand the bootloader unlocking part (and I have "Boot loader unlocked allow: yes"), but then how do I root exactly? I see threads here where you can install a custom (already rooted) kernel, but I'd like to root the stock kernel/firmware. I need CWM I believe. Can someone post the steps how to do this?
Thanks
Btw, I have the America variation, wt19a. Does that change anything?
You can unlock bootloader and flash a custom pre-rooted kernel and that's the only way you can get root without downgrading your phone. There is a extended stock kernel in dev section which is just a rooted, CWM installed stock kernel. You can try that after unlocking your bootloader. It's always better to use a custom prerooted kernel because by installing it the root and CWM is permanent but if you downgrade, root and install CWM via x-parts, it is only temporary and you can easily lose the root by flashing some mods itself.

Thanks, I just got stock root with .587 with this guide. I didn't look into it at first because it was meant for .431 (this thread has it the same). But it works like a peach. I used Xperia-ROOT.rev4 and made a "factory reset" after the process. Ended up with a fresh .587 rooted, Superuser app survived the reset. Installed SuperSU from market and deleted the Superuser apk from /system/app. Everything looks good and feels fine.
If anyone sees this, forget downgrading if you have a LWW, use that guide.
Btw, the ghost of GB haunts me... my last phone was a Galaxy Note and I had to go back to GB, wipe and then install an ICS rom (because of the eMMC bug). Now I get a LWW and the only way to root is falling back to GB, root and install ICS. **** :silly:
hello this is my first aid, suffer some devices fail.
corruptea SD card, and you can not flash a rom.
eg
you use a CM9 rom ics (achojan) normal
after flashing the kernel CM10 (scricht007)
You can no longer re-flash the CM9 rom ever.
I tried to give him a hard reset xperia x10, unlock the bootloader, I downgraded the firmware to gb, micro sd've changed, and nothing has given me solution, I could not install a CM9 rom. all is not lost.
solution:
lock the boot loader
use seus, update firmware, to gb.
open, FlashTool. 2.1 flash rom piece, the phone normally.
turn off the phone, and open seus updates the firmware to gingerbread
root to mobile
unlock the bootloader
flash the custom kernel, and enjoyment.
achojan rom flash kernel v6 feravolt
sorry for my bad English (google translate)
