I have it. The case is VERY bulky with a thick backplate. Apart from that it looks like any boring old phone case, nothing special. The charging works fine. Buy it if you really want wireless charging. If you can live without it, don't. It's just too bulky and in hindsight I wouldn't buy it again, even though Qi charging is really cool.

So sad that Sony did such an amazing job with the Z3 design, but both the wireless charging cover and the window cover are ugly and definitely 'I wish I'd never bought one' accessories.
I really hope they can complement the Z4 with some decent accessories, especially if it becomes the last phone ever made by Sony Mobile!

So, it seems to be falling in the no-buy category, especially for the asking price ...
Is anyone aware of any third party case that has the same functionality?

The case takes away from the phone's design and looks big with no magnetic cover locking either....

I hope Incipio makes a Hive silicon case

Pretty slick design IMHO. I'am not all the worried about screen, but like the idea of having a way to just be able to toss it on the table and not fret. Good grip as well. I have an email blown into them to see what they say.

That's definitely a case I would consider buying for my TP.
i agree, but i think most users wouldn't like to have to remove the case every time they dock it, a slip on case like that is useless to most of the TFP users as most state the reason they buy the TFP is the dock, i'm not one of those people.. i want something like this, but black and rugged looking

i'm the type as well were i just want to throw mine around, i do alot of backpacking, camping ect and like to be able to just toss it in my backpack out on the table or down on a rock while hiking (lunch break with music, lol) and not worry about it to much....trouble is i don't think we'll see to many awesome case just due to the fact this thing is ment to have a dock attached to it for 50% of the time...i plan on only using the dock for out of country travel and just leave the netbook at home
Incipio emailed me.. no chance

Wow! I really like this. That's all I really need simple and convenient. I don't use the dock so will work for me.
Not a chance they will make those for TF right?
I would like to have this just for times when I NEED a case like this. It's like an Otterbox Defender with the screen protector.

Otter car dock mod!!

Don’t know if this is where this goes or not but it’s about accessories..
So I have the Sprint car dock and it works great (even if it only launches the dock half the time). I went out and bought the Otterbox commuter case and I love it. The good news is YES the case does if in the dock…. The bad news is the flap that covers the UBS port does not. So I had two choices, one cut the rubber that protects the USB port off and risk all kinds of pocket lint and dust getting in there or modify the dock… SO
I modified the dock… all I did was take a Dremel (best tool ever) and cut away the plastic edge. Now you have to be careful because it would be easy to “slip” and cut into your USB port. Also the LED power light is right there so watch that too!!!
Here is what 10 minutes of work look like!!

I will sand it a little but I think it turned out great!!! Now I can use my case and dock!!! I would take a picture of the phone in the dock but the phone is all I have to take pictures at the moment lol.
Let me know what you think??
Well done, problem solved. Looks fine to me. And yes, dremels are awesome ! Dremels, 5 min epoxy, and duct tape. I can do anything!
indeed nice! I bought mine today and was thinking.. just a little more room and I could totally Dock my otter box! but, I thought I would just cut off the little flap to the Charge port. instead, You've inspired me!
Thanks guys. I did not want to hurt the case as I get way more use out of it then the dock. But with the usb cover out it actually covers up the cut on the dock so you don't see it anyways. Looks great!

You made the right decision.
When you have to mod something , you want to avoid reducing functionality if you can. Cutting the dock doesn't change its functionality (even if it didn't fit after the cutout) , while removing the USB cover removes a feature.

The Cheapest (in more ways than one), functional Qi desktop stand

A while back I got one of these really cheap desktop phone stands given to me. It's actually very sturdy, but I didn't have much use for it, so it went into a box of misc. stuff in the closet.

More recently I picked up an inexpensive wireless charging puck that works quite well
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F6SPZWO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So I wondered if I could stick the puck to the back of the stand, and make a poor man's Tylt Vu charging stand. Sadly, the answer was no. The thickness of the plexiglass stand, added to the case for the charging puck, was too great for the Qi coils to bridge. But, I thought, what if I remove the thickness of the puck's case, and put the charging coil directly on the back of the plexi stand? So I disassembled the puck, and low and behold, that worked just fine.
Not wanting to give up the puck, I decided to order another. Being cheap, I saw a bunch of similar looking circular pucks for an even lower price, and thought they're probably the same thing. So I ordered one of these:

Well, it's not the same. It's definitely cheaper than the PowerBot, but it worked fine, so I took it apart. Combined with the freebie stand, I bring you..... FrankenCharger. Ugly as sin, but it works, and a total outlay of about $10 can't be beat. Similar looking pucks are available from ebay for $3 to $4 bucks.
The bumpers that the phone rests on are soft plastic, and are extras from kitchen cabinets, intended to keep the cabinet doors from slamming closed. I may try to figure out a better way to hold it together than electrical tape, but there's something honestly cheap about that solution that appeals to me.
Here's a shot of the back, and sitting next to my work PC. I may stick some thin cork dots, or something similar, on the bottom to keep it from sliding around, but where it's located it's atually pretty stable.
nice i did something similar, but i also use a laser cut, its good to have one

I do like that one but I think I'd rather use the turbo charger because a lot of times I don't stay in their long and I have to leave, so I usually look for a quick juice before I peace out. What will urs do of u plug in a charger and set it on the dock, does it charge with cable? Seems like it would just wanted to ask

Gear S charging problem

So my Gear S does not fully latch on to the charging cradle anymore it only adheres to the back what has happened. I don't want to get a new one that I have to pay alot for so for now I have a hair tie to hold it together that is the only way it will charge for now. However I don't want it to ruin my watch to the point where it will not charge at all. Any ideas or solutions

Try this .....
Ok so I just saw the charger the top piece broke off a little which holds the cradle in place. So for now I will try the pill bottle method if not hair tie it will be.
Both my clips broke
Both of mine broke and now it's a real PIA.
I really can't believe Samsung came up with such a horrible design when such a simple and effective method like what LG or even Apple is going to use exists. I still enjoy my gear S but now that both clips are broken, I really am ticked as it's making charging a PIA.
I've already made the decision to switch to the LG Urbane LTE the moment it's available in the US and while I don't know when that will be, I'm definitely going to make the move. IMO it looks 1000% better too.
In the mean time, I just jumped on Amazon and via Prime ordered the cheap charger only cradle for the Gear S. Due to arrive Tuesday so I'll post back the findings but the dozen plus reviews show it works perfectly. I don't really use the built in battery on the existing one much if at all since the Gear S holds a charge so long.
look here

Just call Samsung and they will replace it.
