Gear S charging problem - Samsung Gear S

So my Gear S does not fully latch on to the charging cradle anymore it only adheres to the back what has happened. I don't want to get a new one that I have to pay alot for so for now I have a hair tie to hold it together that is the only way it will charge for now. However I don't want it to ruin my watch to the point where it will not charge at all. Any ideas or solutions

Try this .....

Ok so I just saw the charger the top piece broke off a little which holds the cradle in place. So for now I will try the pill bottle method if not hair tie it will be.

Both my clips broke
Both of mine broke and now it's a real PIA.
I really can't believe Samsung came up with such a horrible design when such a simple and effective method like what LG or even Apple is going to use exists. I still enjoy my gear S but now that both clips are broken, I really am ticked as it's making charging a PIA.
I've already made the decision to switch to the LG Urbane LTE the moment it's available in the US and while I don't know when that will be, I'm definitely going to make the move. IMO it looks 1000% better too.
In the mean time, I just jumped on Amazon and via Prime ordered the cheap charger only cradle for the Gear S. Due to arrive Tuesday so I'll post back the findings but the dozen plus reviews show it works perfectly. I don't really use the built in battery on the existing one much if at all since the Gear S holds a charge so long.

Just call Samsung and they will replace it.

Paper Dock

Saw this on Gizmondo, it's for a iPhone but don't see any reason why it wouldnt work for the G1
http://www.dessinemoiunobjet.com/iphone-and-itouch-paper-stand-dock/
As soon as I can get to a printer I'm going to try it out.
Use CARD not Paper though (despite what the title says)
nice!
the G1 might be a bit heavy but let us know how it goes, i wouldn't mind trying this either!
Will try on Saturday at the earliest, don't have access to a printer ATM.
I guess if its card it'll be ok
I've tried this for my G1 and I'm very pleased with it. Slight modification is needed as the G1 is a little thicker. All I did was widen the top of the 'T' shape that needs to be cut out by about 1/2cm and then it was perfect. I also cut out a little square underneath the dock to accommodate the charger lead.
I'm really happy with it! And I thought it was a tad ironic that I used the box from my Apple keyboard for the purpose - worked great!
I'm currently working on a modified template fitting the G1.
For the iPhone and iPod touch it looks awesome already.

Got any photos mate?
Breen - Excellent work! will you be posting the modded version on here?
Here's a little photo of the modified dock. Note I've bent the back flaps a little bit as well as that seems to support the G1's weight better:

Desktop Charger

I've tried having a look around and I can't find a desk charger/cradle for the Lumia 800, I know the hinged door cover makes it hard but does anyone know of one that is compatible?
Thanks!
I bought this N9 charger and it works well:

Unfortunately, it's out of stock on amazon but may be available in UK

Thanks, I'll have a look at it. Where is the micro usb socket on the n9? How does this dock deal with the open door on the 800?
Same place, top left. The N9 & Lumia 800 have the same body (barring camera button and flash LED placement).

Awesome, thanks! I was a bit worried that the phone would have to be put upside down in the cradle.
I'm off to see I can find it in stock somewhere.
That only stands the phone up, the USB charger goes in the top as normal. You'd be better off (and save money) by just leaning it against something while it's charging.
It's not the same as an iPhone dock (or some HTC docks) which connect the phone directly to a charger when you place it in the dock.

htc rhyme has connectors on the back... thats what i call dock
I say, this is a marvelous find on my behalf, I was getting to the notion that I may just have to leave my phone in a horizontal position on my desk for the rest of eternity.

LG G2 (Verizon) Removable Battery Thread

So I took the plunge and upgraded to the LG G2 from a Samsung SIII and over all I enjoy it. The one thing that I will miss most is quickly swapping batteries in and out on the go and having a fresh full charge.
I pulled the back off of the G2, and the battery is still looking a big difficult for quick replacements. I'm a bit nervous to dig into mine (it is under an hour old) but I found a picture of the BL-T7 battery removed here: http://gsminsider.com/2013/08/lg-g2-bt-t7-3000mah-battery-hands-on/

Interesting. It wouldn't seem to far fetched to make a quick dongle out of the power terminal tether for quick swaps. Also cutting every other plastic snap latch from the housing back would make the thing come off with ease.

you may need to mod the housing... there is very little room to work with. They crammed as much as they could in that tight area. Personally with a 3000 mah battery I don't see the need. Just replace it after a year or two and keep on trucking.

As Joshua posted, I don't know why you would even bother.
The battery in thi sphone lasts over twice as long as most other phone's I've used.
So far on average im getting over a day and half and in some cases 2.5 days even with 4+ hours of screen on time
I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering if anyone actually did any modding, or if they changed the battery or anything. Let us know what happened!

The Cheapest (in more ways than one), functional Qi desktop stand

A while back I got one of these really cheap desktop phone stands given to me. It's actually very sturdy, but I didn't have much use for it, so it went into a box of misc. stuff in the closet.

More recently I picked up an inexpensive wireless charging puck that works quite well
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F6SPZWO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So I wondered if I could stick the puck to the back of the stand, and make a poor man's Tylt Vu charging stand. Sadly, the answer was no. The thickness of the plexiglass stand, added to the case for the charging puck, was too great for the Qi coils to bridge. But, I thought, what if I remove the thickness of the puck's case, and put the charging coil directly on the back of the plexi stand? So I disassembled the puck, and low and behold, that worked just fine.
Not wanting to give up the puck, I decided to order another. Being cheap, I saw a bunch of similar looking circular pucks for an even lower price, and thought they're probably the same thing. So I ordered one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/MuchBuy-Wirel...638&sr=1-11&keywords=docooler+qi+charging+pad
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Well, it's not the same. It's definitely cheaper than the PowerBot, but it worked fine, so I took it apart. Combined with the freebie stand, I bring you..... FrankenCharger. Ugly as sin, but it works, and a total outlay of about $10 can't be beat. Similar looking pucks are available from ebay for $3 to $4 bucks.
The bumpers that the phone rests on are soft plastic, and are extras from kitchen cabinets, intended to keep the cabinet doors from slamming closed. I may try to figure out a better way to hold it together than electrical tape, but there's something honestly cheap about that solution that appeals to me.
Here's a shot of the back, and sitting next to my work PC. I may stick some thin cork dots, or something similar, on the bottom to keep it from sliding around, but where it's located it's atually pretty stable.
nice i did something similar, but i also use a laser cut, its good to have one

I have it. The case is VERY bulky with a thick backplate. Apart from that it looks like any boring old phone case, nothing special. The charging works fine. Buy it if you really want wireless charging. If you can live without it, don't. It's just too bulky and in hindsight I wouldn't buy it again, even though Qi charging is really cool.

So sad that Sony did such an amazing job with the Z3 design, but both the wireless charging cover and the window cover are ugly and definitely 'I wish I'd never bought one' accessories.
I really hope they can complement the Z4 with some decent accessories, especially if it becomes the last phone ever made by Sony Mobile!
So, it seems to be falling in the no-buy category, especially for the asking price ...
Is anyone aware of any third party case that has the same functionality?
The case takes away from the phone's design and looks big with no magnetic cover locking either....
