Is there any way to permanently change the mac address on my phone, evidently there is a bug in cm that causes the mac address not to be properly read and so a temp address, 00:90:4c:c5:12:38, is used. Problem is I just updated my z2 tablet to a lollipop rom and now both my phone and tablet have that same Mac address causing issues when I connect to my WiFi at home with both of them. This issue was also on the nexus 5 but was supposedly fixed so I'm hoping that a fix will come soon but in the meantime I'm trying to find a work around.
I'm currently on illusion 5.5 using the 777 kernel with multi rom, it sounds like it would be an issue on any cm based rom though, as I'm using a different rom on my tablet. Does anyone else have this Mac address, 00:90:4c:c5:12:38, on their phone or is it just me?
Dont do on lollipop it will brake you wifi and everything else only do kitkat lg
So there is no way to change my Mac address on lollipop then?
Not that I know of I mean you can try pryfi if you want but the beta i did and it didn't work but it did in the stock rom. I just don't think it's a good idea.
I tried to change my mac adress on my lg g3 d855, android version 4.4.2 and now my wifi won't work

What did you do? Is your mac address the same as the on mentioned in the op, is it a stock or cm based rom? I found an app that works for me for now, it's only temporary but it works in a pinch when my tablets mac reverts back to the bugged one mentioned in the op.
This is the app i use. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wireless.macchanger&hl=en
Even though im very far behind the time, I figured if anyone needed this theyd see this. To change my mac address i installed xposed on my phone and a module called hijack suite free. From there you can spoof your mac persistently. Ive rebooted many times and i still have my spoofed mac. None of the other methods and apps have worked for my device this is the first. Im using the d850 on cm 12.1 with stock cm kernel

Anybody got a suggestion of a ROM that supports 802.1X out of the box?
Note I do have to put in a Windows domain/user which may be another factor that's making it harder.
Oh and my Nexus 7 running PA 3.5 works.....
(or assistance to get my Android Revolution HD v25 working )
Thanks in advanced.
isn't the WiFi protocol more a kernel & hardware related issue then a ROM related one?
I have a Netgear PTV3000 that I use to stream HDMI wirelessly on my AppRadio2 in my truck. This has been working FLAWLESSLY on all 4.4.X ROMs, but when I load a 5.0 ROM the "Miracast" option is now replaced with a "Cast Screen" button. When I try "Cast Screen", my PTV3000 does not show up to connect to. Does anybody know if Miracast is possible on Android 5.0 Lollipop? Has anyone gotten this to work? Thank you for any assistance!
I was having this exact problem. I've got a fix, but I changed so many things I want to nail down the essential changes before I pass it on. Will update soon.
I'd love to know your fix too!

@Neeku, thank you for taking the time to post. I would be curious as to what fixed it, as well. I have found that it seems to be related to the new 12B modem, as I have tried it on the Lollipop Roms: SkyDragon, LiquidSmooth 4.0, and Paranoid Android 5+. I have also found that it does not work on the new 12B Jasmine Rom 4.0. These all no longer work.
Any update?
Any news on this? This is the only thing I've been able to find on this issue.

Referring to the Jasmine 4.0 issue. I'm running eclipse on 12B modern stock kernel and my Miracast works fine

Miracast on Lollipop
Hi,
Miracast does work on Android 5.x.x.
But, when my Huawei P8max was updated OTA from 5.0.2 to 5.1.1 ,my Multiscreen, which launches the screen mirroring to my Samsung EAD T10 dongle failed to connect....it saw it OK.
My only recourse after messing about for 2 days was to do a Factory Reset....this did the trick and screen mirroring is back.
NOTE: All my data, apps, contacts et al were put back using Huawei's HiSuite app.
Also the factory reset only took 2 minutes.

Hello everyone,
I’ve running resurrection remix for the last few months and it is running almost flawlessly except for one thing: my cell phone can’t be seen or find other deviced. I think it is probably related to the weird BT MAC address issue. I’ve read some guide - some say it is needed to restore the efs partition, others have a very complicated method to restore it.. Anyway, what’s the definitive guide to fix this issue ?
It's fixed in Lineage OS so that's an option for you.

Hey,
I try recently to change my ROM of my Honor 5X, but I have a big problem with the WI-FI. My phone can't find the channels higher than 11 and my WI-FI is in 13 channel :/ . I check different post in this forum, with different things to do, but nothing work. (I try to change the region in the build.prop, and i haven't any /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db in my phone files :/ )If anyone has an idea to change the configuration of the WI-FI channels in android 7.1.1. (If you want, I'm using the Aospextended ROM but I t'y with a lot of more ROM and there is the same problem :/ )
Thank you for your future help

No one has an idea to fix that ? :crying:
Device : Redmi Note 4X 16GB / 3GB
I noticed something with my MAC address .
In stock MIUI rom it's f4-f5-XX-XX-XX-XX, that's okay, wifi works fine either hidden networks
In other roms the MAC address changed to something else 00-0a-XX-XX-XX-XX, with this MAC wifi and hidden networks works fine. (( NOT ALL ROMS, THERE'S ROMS DOESN'T CHANGE THE MAC BY USING MIUI STOCK MAC, SO THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST))
After flash farncokernel the MAC changes to the MIUI one, but hidden networks doesn't work.
Is that's wired ?

Maybe you should report this to the dev of franco kernel. could possibly be a kernel bug.
