LG G3 Vigor - Where's the root? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, i currently have a LG G3 Vigor on Sprint which is like the G3's little brother. I have searched and searched and no luck for root. I was wondering if anyone can help me find a rooting method. I will tell you which programs i have used below.
Stump Root - I tried Stump Root plenty of time and it say's my phone is not supported/patched, plus the brute force was grayed out.
Towel Root - I tried many different code combinations and no luck. When ever i try some codes the button stays highlighted and app freezes for a while then closes without a force close message.
Framaroot - Frodo was the only exploit available and still no luck.
All PC Roots (Purple Drake, IOroot, ect.) - Once i get rebooted to recovery the computer reads device as unrecognized, yet i have the LGE Drivers installed, and i have tried ADB Drivers. I may just have some wrong drivers install.
SD Card (Update.zip) - I got the root.zip from the Purple Drake files and formatted my SD Card to EXT2 and when i try to install the .zip via recovery it fails to install every time.
Other - I've also tried apps like Kingo Root, and some Chinese apps, but still no luck

Okay, well I'm guessing nobody can help then, or even put out a suggestion.... [emoji22]

I've tried same thing except purple drake. Was thinking ill get same results. Im guessing not a high demand to root the vigor so we gets no love.

This is disappointing
I got the Vigor because I didn't want to carry around a tablet in my pocket (LG G3, HTC One M8, Samsung S5 etc.). I know that the Vigor is a little underpowered in comparison, but I didn't expect it to be completely ignored here.

This will root the vigor http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3049772

[Q] is the new version update geared to revoke root access?

I bought a brand new photon 4g and upon activating it.. I made the mistake of accepting the OTA 45.3.6 because now, despite all my efforts to root the device using AIO's, torpedo method, and even using the relatively new method that apparently works well with the Photon
@ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1235376
Im about ready to give up. Ive had plenty of experience rooting and flashing my HTC Hero CDMA and Samsung Epic however, i was not expecting this.
It seems the main problem with the AIO's is that they are outdated and I am only receiving error messages upon clicking the batch file (yes i have debugging while USB on)
If anybody could help me or give me an alternative rooting method I would be greatful. Would unlocking the bootloader before trying to root make a difference? Again any help would be super appreciated because I've ready the forums and used TFSE and im still coming up stock.
So I'm really new to the Photon too (came from an Evo4G), and had updated to the latest OTA as well. I just rooted using this method, it worked great:
[ROOT] Photon Torpedo, dockless root access
More specifically, I followed the directions here. Note: I did get an error message near the end of that process, but just kept going, and it worked just fine.
I haven't unlocked the bootloader, so someone else will have to chime in for advice on that....
That worked! And I happened to find another set of directions that made things even easier:

[Q] Help, troube rooting my 768g again

I'm new in this topic, though I had a samsung galaxy ace before and and could root it without a problem, but oh, well.
Then, back to business.
I rooted my lg l9 768g after I bought it and delete some bloatware, but then software update showed up for JB. I downloaded the update and tried to install it, couldn't do it, after a reboot displayed a message saying something about my device being rooted and because of that it could not update. I unrooted the phone using the SuperSU app, instead of using the software I used to root it. After that I tried updating again to JB but the same error showed up.
Since I could not update to JB via sofware update, I tried rooting my phone again, but it would only reboot but the SuperSU app will not show up. Tried doing it several times with same results.

I used this program to root my phone, which worked the first time, but I can't make it to work again.
I tried flashing JB using this tread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36351786
but I end up with an error
I keep my phone in SW Upgrade Mode and connect the usb to my laptop to see if the drivers weren't installed properly but nothing installs.
So, I would like help with re-rooting my phone or help with another method for flashing JB other than the link already mentioned above.
Thanks in advance.
My phone is a Lg optimus l9 768g
android ver: 4.0.4
kernel ver: 3.0.21
Do you have CWM working?
Try flashing with Your l9 turned on normally and connect the usb in LG software mode (wait for the drivers to connect properly). Sometimes it doesn't work when you start out with it connected in S/W upgrade mode first.

Hey so Ive installed both the apps. Fx and the other one. It asks me to update the drivers, but I don't know exactly which one to use. I chose cortex a8 neon. For both. But it says I don't have root and busybox. I do have both installed. I know super user works just fine. Because when I first opened the apps up they ask for permission. Which I granted. And I changed my build prompt like the post says in android development. I tried again and it reboots the phone, but it asks again " in order to use this app u have to update the v4a drivers " can someone help me out
Am I using the wrong rooting app ?

[Q] Downgrade & Root

Hi there
I've asked a couple of questions in various threads, but I'm not sure if they get noticed as they get buried a couple of pages deep or the threads don't get touched for a couple of days.
I bought my Z2 second hand, and the firmware is already 4.4.4 23 etc .167
My customisation version is 1281-1460, do I need to find a ftf 4.4.2 with the same customisation number or can I just pick a generic AU branded 4.4.2 to downgrade using flashtool and then root/backup from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2759934
then follow the rooted 4.4.4 flash guide contained here?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/4-4-4-creating-rooted-update-package-t2933155
Thanks very much
Glenn
After running a few different methods I finally got one method to work following a YouTube video. Took me three laptops and two different downloads to get the downgrade this morning (4.4.2/314) and about an hour of finding a root method that worked for me. I think half of it is driver issues because it was my wife's rubbish laptop that wound up doing both jobs.
I'll play around with 4.4.2 for a while before deciding on custom rom or 4.4.4

Here it is here.
ROOT Xperia Z2 [17.1.2.A.314]: http://youtu.be/oEWheFGJRJ0
Other than changing laptops one of the other things I did was change from MTP to MSC which I didn't see written anywhere. Not sure if it was that, the method, the third laptop or just dumb luck, but it worked.

Use sunshine
Sent from my HTC_One_max using XDA-Developers mobile app
well your not gonna be able to unlock the BL because htc and all the toolkits do not work anymore, Verizon variants are the worst big red likes to keep things locked up. You can use sunshine I don't know if it actually works all it does is s, off your device allowing you to root and unlock the bootloader. Its 25$ for the s, off service. My 6600lvw max is still locked up and is gonna remain locked because htc is the under dog and theres not much really out there for mods anyway. Do yourself either use the phone the way it is or sell it and buy a nexus 6 or 6p and use the NRT and youll be in heaven. Myself I refuse to pay the 25$ for the S, off its not that important to have it. do yourself a favor stop wasting your time trying to do it yourself you'll give yourself a ulcer trying to pull it off.
Do what the rest are saying about sunshine. It will unlock the bootloader and root the device cant remember about s-off its been so long. Before you pay for the app it will test the device to make sure the app will work.
Thanks for help guys But that sunshine its apps payantes not free ?????
I bought sunshine and it worked great. It dosent root your device it S off the security and unlocks the bootloader it gives temp root to obtain the mods, very happy I bit the bullet on this the device works so much better. Do the S, off install twrp 3.0.2 flash supersu not the app from playstore, install busy box, and SElinux mode changer it makes it easier to install twrp flash supersu 2.46 with twrp itll gain root permanently but until you do in stall weaksauce 2 for temporary root. Theres tons of roms. If you like 6.0.1 marshmallow CM 13 has it but remove your sim card before flashing.
