Got a new phone, it takes a nano Sim,so I bought a Sim cutter. Cut fine and went in new phone fine. Put in adapter tray and put back in note ii and i think something was just off and it won't read the Sim. I hear some scraping as it came out.
Was going to keep it for tethering while on vaca since I can't root the new phone, still on unlimited.
Anyone know where I can have it repaired? Typical phone repair shops? I have never had to have a phone fixed before.... Kinda bummed now...

Brand new Ameo, when I put the SIM in it wont work. The phone doesnt recognise it.
Now is a T-Mobile SIM and a T-Mobile Phone, apart from the Network lock is there any kind of SIM lock that would stop other T-Mobile sims working in the phone?
Has anybody else had this problem?
Sounds to me like a SIM lock, is it t-mobile sim?
When I first got it, I did put the sim card in the wrong way up! Check the manual to make sure u've put it in correctly. The door closes and everything even if u've put it in wrong, and I initially got the same problem.
one of my tmob sims wouldnt work in my ameo but my other one does.
same message missing or invalid. call customer support (08454125000) and describe the issue to get a replacement sim sent out. If u bought it in a store you should be able to get it done in the store.
cheers
Its definately a T-Mobile Sim and Phone, Wouldnt a SIM lock give some kind of locked message?
It was in the way it showed on the instructions. The little sticker on the plastic showed where the notch in the corner goes, and I made sure it fitted with no pressure or forcing. Due to the notch, and the plastic on the cover im sure it wouldnt fit any other way.
I went into a T-Mob store and the guy there tried his SIM, which he assured me had actualy been used in a Demo AMEO in that store, and that SIM wouldnt work either.
When I called they said it wouldnt be the SIM as that worked in other phones (inlcuding a m600i also bought on w&w tarif).
I have T-Mob supposedly replacing the phone this morning (Courier didnt turn up yesterday) so Ill update if there are problems with the new Phone.
UPDATE-
New phone works fine, just worked with no trouble. Was definately a faulty sim reader in the other phone.
Glad u've eventually sorted it!
I guess it has to do something with the nistallation of extended ROM..mine also didn't read, when I soft reset to avoid Ext ROM..when allowed installation..it detected
It seems like invalid SIM issue is quite common among Athena. My was plaqing with the same issue as well and just got my replacement unit from Dopod. By the way my is U1000.
So WireFly did an unboxing, and if you pause the video and read the plastic that is protecting the screen when he takes it out of the box, the middle says to use the new sim card that is in the box, and that your old sim card will not work with all functions. What's that about? I'm planning on getting this off contract, and my sim will be a year old next month. I wonder if we need to get new ones to use with this phone? http://www.tmonews.com/2011/10/wirefly-unboxes-the-htc-amaze-4g/

It will come with a new one in the box all phone do. you will just have to call them to activate it.

Yeah, it does say that. This is from the screen cover on the front of mine.
Wait I'm so confused, what region do you guys live in? I'm here in the US and the phone isn't even out but I thought it was a US only phone. On top of that I likes my SIM D: what does the phone do that specifically needs this SIM in the box?

Not really sure but I'm using my old sim card and everything seems to be working to me.
I'm in the US too, and that confused me. I bought a LG Optimus, Defy, Desire HD, and a Nexus One. Not one of those came with a sim card. I always just swapped my original one when I signed up with T-Mo, and it always worked, but not one had that message on the plastic saying my old one won't work. I guess I will ask when I go to the store to pick it up. Maybe it has to do with the 42MBPS speed thing. Very strange.
It says that but my old one seems to work the same and I'm still getting 4g.
Where did you buy your phone?
wifi calling will not work with the old cards you will get error ER05 "update sim card" I have to go get one since mine did not get the SIM card when i got mine
Ok that makes sense. I don't use WiFi calling at all though.
I have to in my apartment it has crappy reception without it hell in anypart of the town i am in
The one from WIND mobile (Canada) does not have that message on the box or protector... it must be for wifi calling only as I am pulling about 8mbps (on the high end for WIND) most the time, and everyhting is working perfectly
I am so ****ed right now...
My SIM card got jammed and I pulled it out and broke one of the three golden sim connectors and now it won't read any SIM cards!
What really annoys me is that it isn't like I had an alternative. I couldn't take it to a Nokia store and get a genius to sort me out as they don't exist.
Now I have to call up Nokia and get it fixed. God knows how much they will charge. It isn't a big thing to fix but it is new.
If anyone has any tips or advice I would welcome it? How much will it cost me to get this fixed? I read that the whole board would need to be replaced which is very expensive?

Last year I had a problem with my focus and I went to an ATT service center(I don't know the proper name) and got an instant replacement. I believe these places are not widespread; you'd have to look it up. Hopefully whoever looks at it will see that it was stuck. If you forced it out, that could be a problem. First talk to the place where you bought the phone. Reattaching a connector doesn't sound like an extreme problem.
Hi, I've got this same problem and they have asked me the price of a new one as they say they have to change all the circuits. Have you find a way to fix it already?
any hints on this matter?
Cheers!
Roberto.
Damn, I had this happen yesterday, After I had successfully flashed UK firmware from Polish and got the black update, Booked it in for collection and repair, Stupid nano to micro sim adapter was to blame as it got jammed in sim tray, I guess I will be charged for repair centre to fix?
I think something like this happened as well.
I think the person who had this phone inserted the sim wrong
then that might of broke or bent one the pins
I'l looking and can only see two of the three clearly.
So will take it to get checked out. Hopefully can be fixed quite easily.
Just curious. I opted on my order to use my existing sim, but to my surprise, there was one already in the slot. Wondering if the phone ships this way. Thanks.
I received my DNA with a SIM already installed.

Mine was already installed. Bought retail and when I got home I saw it wasn't in the box. Used the tool to take it out, it was already in the phone.
The SIM from my ReZound is a lot bigger than the SIM for the DNA ... So I could not use the same one.
Yeah they come with one. The guy at VZW was bumbling around looking for SIM cards in the closet finally found one and realized there was one in there already lol. I didn't know or I would have told him as I usually have to help them out. Then he had to start over. Irritating.

Got mine on launch at a local verizon. The lady setting it up started jamming the sim unlock tool in the hole on the bottom of the phone. She was pressing as hard as she could trying to get the sim out. I wasn't paying attention at first but when i noticed what she was doing i told her that was the mic. Oh she said and continued looking at the phone to find the sim hole and proceeded to remove and set up the phone. I waited till she was all finished and then told her no i wanted a different phone cause you just brutally violated the DNA's mic hole. she rudely started saying their was nothing wrong with what she did. anyway got a virgin mic holed phone and all is good. I feel sorry for the guy who gets that poor raped phone. but yes the sim was in it as well.
As easy as it was for them to have that little tray for a SIM... Why couldn't they have done that for the sdcard as well lol
-HTC Droid DNA-
Mine was already installed....confused the Verizon Rep because she actually got a new SIM out of the drawer, popped open the SIM Tray, and voila-already there.
Mine was on a card that was waiting to be installed in the phone. Yes I did get mine at the Verizon store too.
I got my DNA online for free with the promotional code and there were 2 sim cards. One sim in the phone and another in the sealed card that you have to break out. Any reason for that or isit just how they do it. My wife's S3 for Amazon only came with one. I didn't activate the DNA yet, I'm waiting to root it before it wants to update. Why 2 cards, just a backup?

Guys,
I picked up a Blue 32GB HTC One from Best Buy yesterday for $599.99 off contact, got them to price match AT&T...Anyways, I went ahead and got S-Off on the device, but then when I went to put in my SIM card, I noticed that it was really hard to eject the sim card. I finally got it out, but the tray won't go back in all the way. I played with it a bunch last night and got it better, but it still sticks out. I have had a bunch of dev editions of the One and never had this issue, it was always flush or sunk in a little bit, never stuck out. There are also a few minor nicks in the blue around the sim card tray slot. Has anyone else had this problem? I was thinking about going to try to exchange it today, but I need to put the stock software back on it first, which takes an hour or so to complete the process. I'm not sure they will give me a replacement or not, I suppose I could tell them the SIM card isn't detected some of the time. I don't think they were really supposed to price match the blue version at 599.99 as they are the only ones carrying it. I'm afraid they won't give me a replacement at the same price. Any thoughts or help is appreciated.
Y2J
They give you a 14 day exchange policy so you shouldn't have an issue exchanging it since you have a hardware issue from what it sounds.
