I updated my Moto E to the Android 5.0.2 Brazilian soak test version, anyways when I go to cpu z app after this I see that my Java VM (virtual machine) still in dalvik and not in ART as I expected. I read in the whole Web even in official sites that the new Android L will be entirely changed to ART... So why do I see dalvik there? How to change it? Is the cpu z app wrong?

Hi All,
Android kitkat have a 2 Runtime (Dalvik and ART)
As you can see benchmark supporting that ART is faster than Dalvik
Note:I cannot paste a link inthe website androidpolice you can see benchmark,
Also seems battery preety good than Dalvik
We must only wait for app developers to rewrite their work to support ART. I see, it's bug step forward in Android project. Ram usage is also a bit lower in ART mode.

Hey guys,
I was playing around with my Moto X 2014 running Android Lollipop and saw that there are still .odex files corresponding to each system application's .apk file. I have also seen Android lollipop ROMs here that says it's deodexed. Now I'm confused about the difference between odex and deodex for ART? I thought everything is compiled into byte-code when it's first installed?
Any explanation would be appreciated!
I think this is done by them to reduce boot time and reduce the overall system size (as ELF is supposed to use larger space).
BTW can you check if "/data/dalvik-cache" is still present ?
Guys, I'm using Xperia U 4.4 kitkat (CM11) and after playing around for some time I decided to switch to Art, but the phone always "upgrades the android" on every boot. As far as I know it supposed to optimize all the apps only once but its happening every time and it also takes bout 10 mins. So help me out on this folks!!
Btw I don't have whatsapp or xposed framework installed either.
CM11 doesn't support ART till date... So u have to reflash your ROM and run on deault Dalvik runtime...
Hello! I have Nexus 7. Recently I updated to 5.0 but now one of my favourite apps aren't working
I think it's because of new ART runtime. Is there any way to convert this app to this runtime or switch back to Dalvik? (Option from developer options is removed).
Thanks, Poiuy2010_2011
You will have to wait for the app to be updated
