I recently replaced the USB charging port/ribbon in my Tab 3 10.1 (GT-P5210) Stock firmware, never rooted or modded in any way.
When rebooting the tablet, I noticed a bit of green specs and lines across the screen then it went black.
I have maticulously made sure each ribbon cable is in correctly and I can access the memory of the tablet via USB cable from my computer but I cannot get anything to show on the screen.
Is there a way to troubleshoot if this is the LED that is bad?
I followed some of the other threads on here and tried the power drain method, booting into recovery or download, etc but can get absolutely nothing to show on the screen.
Wrong thread.

During a recent system update to my Galaxy SII, Windows crashed and I am having some problems which were not present before the failed update.
After the crash, I used Kies on a Windows 7 desktop computer (it had failed on an XP laptop), and it allowed me to update the phone software to Jelly Bean with a system recovery option.
Everything initially seemed to be working well, but now when I am charging the phone when it is powered off and it claims to be fully charged, the charging icon still remains on the screen after the charger has been unplugged. It flashes from green to empty and the progress circle sometimes spins. This is usually accompanied by seemingly random vibrations.
This loop is extremely hard to interrupt to turn the phone on, and I've found it increasingly common to have to use volume up/home/power to select reboot system to get the phone to turn on.
I have since used Odin to flash the official firmware from SamMobile, but the same thing is happening.
If anyone else has experienced this or can think of a fix, it would be very much appreciated.
Thank you.
Replace USB board. Been covered here a lot lately, search for similar threads re: which part you need to order (There's different parts for different SGS2 variants). Cheap, quick & easy to do yourself.
To complicate things still further. ....there's 3 different versions of the board for the international I9100 alone....
You need to check the board you remove to see which one you have.....
Sent from my rooted, de bloated, stock JB powered S2 via PhilZ kernel and XDA developers app
Excellent. Thank you both.
I have ordered the correct replacement part from ebay.
The new USB board is fitted and the problem has been solved. Thanks again!
Hello, I have a Galaxy Note II sgh-t889. The phone worked perfect until I recently flashed it to Android 6 with cynogen mod. The phone worked fine for a few weeks, now the phone only powers on when connected to a charger. When removed from charged it goes back to the Samsung note II logo screen and won't boot past. I don't think it's a battery issue as I can boot in bios and it shows the battery is %95 full. It will sit on the logo screen until charger is plugged in, then will boot fine to OS. I've factory reset multiple times to no avail. I've read other forums of users who experienced similar issues and have narrowed it down to a possibly corrupt flash. The problem being, when connected to my pc the phone won't boot to home screen, it just sits on the logo screen. (So Odin does not detect the phone) The solution I was told is to flash it back to stock/oem rom. The problem is I can't get it to bboot to home screen when connected to pc, only on wall charger. If someone could please give me some insight, I would be more than grateful. I don't have the money atm to buy a new phone, so my only option is to try and get this fixed. Also I don't have an external sd. Can someone point me in the right direction of what to do ? I'm so stumped and I can't stand having to pack my phone around on the charger all the time...
Hello guys,
First my phone went into boot loop all of a sudden. Kept showing samsung logo..then would show battery icon as grey, then green.
So I then followed the guide Restoring the firmware guide here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71481676&postcount=587
When I connected to ODin, first it said PIT fail..so then I removed the PIT and then it said Fail connection error. After that my phone went black...doesn't turn on now.
Background Info: I have stock samsung official rom updated
Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks
My phone's full name is Samsung S2 GT-19100M
So absolutely no reaction? The screen stays off? Or is the screen backlight on, the screen just displays black? No download or recovery mode?

After using odin and after it showed failed status for PIT and then no connection...it has gone dark meaning the phone doesn't turn on by pressing any combination of buttons.
I'm assuming phone went into 'hard brick' mode after odin. Any solutions? I have seen people mentioning the usb jig. When i take apart the usb, my micro-usb connector only had 4 wires instead of the 5 that is the in the online guides. Another usb had only 2 wires and 4 metal points and in both cases, both usb connection points are in straight line instead of 3 on one side and 2 on other side like in the online guides.
Hi, can anyone help me out?
I have a Samsung galaxy tab s3 -(Sm-T820 ud) rev. pie9.
I changed the battery because it would not turn on, when it tried to do so, it would just shut off,(never passed the galaxy tab page).
now with the new battery fully charged although it never shows the battery level, the tablet wont turn on and is stuck with the message recovery booting..... and with black screen, it just turns off and then on over and over.
I tried to connect to my pc but the tab is not detectable threw USB cable.
attached is a photo of the screen.
Please if anyone can give me some suggestions on how to get it up and ready again.
Do I have to reinstall everything or what????? and how to do it and what to use.
Hi! its been a year since your post but i am having the same problem as yours. Where you able to find a fix for this?
Ive been facing same problem since more than a year... no solution.
I was told by someone that the motherboard is corrupt.
Hi to all the XDA community,
It looks like that I am a new member but I have been for several year on XDA (but I lost all the log in details).
The problems I am facing is with a Samsung J6 that my mother in law gave me because one morning didn't show anything on the screen. These are the steps I did:
1. Screen is black, first thought lets charge it. I kept on the charger for ages. When I got back home I was sure that the phone is fully charged (it shows it on my usb hub). Tried to switch it on - Result, nothing is coming up to the screen
2. Hard reset by pressing power button and volume up or down - Result, nothing is coming up to the screen
3. Connect the phone on a laptop to check if the laptop recognises it. The laptop is doing the noise that something is connected and start installing drivers. Seconds later the device disconnected and connected again and this loop of connection and disconnection is happening for ever -Result nothing, only question marks.
4. Thought that is a hardware failure and since the screen doesn't shows anything I bought a new screen. I didn't by an OLED, I bough the cheap one. - Result, nothing is coming up to the new screen
5. I disconnected the battery and install the screen again connect the battery and try the same steps 1 & 2. - Results the same as the steps 1 & 2.
For me it looks like that the phone is bricked (I forgot to mention that my mother in law gave it to someone else before she pass the phone to me, no trust ) and the other guy probably tried to change the ROM or something similar. The boot loop that the phone is doing when I connected on my laptop is not normal (noise of connection and after 1sec noise of disconnection).
Additionally, I am not sure if the screen is working and I am on dilemma, do I have to return the screen to the seller of keep it until find out what is the problem with the phone. Maybe the screen is the faulty part that cause another issue. When I connect the phone on the laptop without the screen is doing the boot loop noise of connection/disconnection. I found out that when the phone is connected on the laptop and I press the power button the disconnection noise is delayed by couple more seconds.
Any help or guidance will be more than welcome.
Obtain the Stock image for your fone from samsung, load it into the version of Odin they suggest, but dont start it yet.
Disconnect fone from pc, and turn it off.
Start Odin flashing
plug fone in
Mb a few steps dif since I last flashed a samsung, but this will fix your fone.
Make sure you got the samsung driver installed in your pc

Thanks for your response.
Samsung drivers are already installed.
The problem that I am encountering is that I can put the phone on download mode. Firstly because I can't see anyhting on the screen and secondly because my laptops can see the device. I tried different cables too but nothing worked.
Since the phone cannot be recognised by the PC, the Odin app cannot see it either.
