Looking to root this device but I see with the n4 conversion you can use all n4 roms and kernels, but do we loose lte and sd?
What are the pros and cons?
For non n4 conversion I'm looking for a stock experience, but tweaked and lean.
N4, who knows lol I miss having a nexus because of the dev section

Good lord did you look at anything in our forums before posting? I'm all for being helpful but your conversion questions are answered in the conversion thread, and honestly there is no benefit to the conversion unless you like headaches, and if you ask what you need to do every time you have an issue with the conversion you'll definitely have headaches... And as for rooting and unlocking get freegee from the play store

Hi all
who can know that when G2 eat android 4.4 kitkat
Sent from my LT25i using Tapatalk 2
considering it came with 4.2.2, they will likely jump to 4.3 before 4.4 and that might be a couple/few months

I dont know if LG is going to release 4.3. I think LG is just going to wait until 4.4 before providing an update. I just dont trust LG yet to provide multiple software updates because they havent built that reputation.

lol well if someone can see into the future to answer this... forget 4.4 and go right for 5.0 Android Lemon-aid... or lolly-pop?
My amazement is the fact that you are asking to speculate on a release date for our phone, when the Version hasn't even launched yet. That's like asking the exact release date of a phone that hasn't been announced yet

I'd think that would be the smart choice for them, especially considering that the g2 is the basis for the nexus 5. I'd imagine they're developing both in parallel.
Not sure if there's any validity to this but here goes... translate away:

VZW for sure will be the last to get it, but on the bright side, maybe the DEV's will be able what to tell what it does to those of us that are rooted.
It seems to me that LG is very eager to ensure the success of their G2 flagship phone, especially given the fact that Samsung and HTC are now a bit behind with the hardware. LG will probably provide the KitKat in order to send a message that they can also provide timely updates, which is one of the reasons that's keeping the enthusiasts adopting their phone (and the enthusiasts are powerful marketing vectors). It would be great to have the KitKat for the G2 in the same day the Nexus 5 is lauched, it would be a very powerful marketing message from LG.
Having used the Optimus 2X for a while, I find this extremely hard to believe. The Nexus 5 reportedly has lower specs than the G2. If the G2 gets 4.4 on the same day as the Nexus 5 is out, it'd seriously hurt the sales of the N5 for Google. But of course, if this is true, it'd be incredible.
How about 4.3 now? Let alone promising 4.4 when it is not even released yet.
-LG G2
Korean models will be for sure the 1st to get it,good to have one lol

Why waste time on 4.3 when they are working out the kinks on 4.2 and then do a direct jump to 4.4? Personally I hope they arent wasting anything on 4.3.
Agreed 4.3 is anyway just a hogwash, i would rather take 4.4 directly(if it brings anything good to table). 4.2.2 was the last major update for me, and anyway performance has been top notch of 4.2.2.
So iron out the kinks in 4.2.2 then upgrade directly to 4.4 and then concentrate on your next flagship.
According to recent leaks, the Nexus 5 will be almost identical (hardware wise) to the international G2! LG is making the Nexus 5 so they have access to the Android 4.4 Code for sure. They may have struck some deal with Google and be able to bring 4.4 to the G2 sooner than we think!

So:
- Different display
- Different camera
- Different battery
- Probably no FM radio
- Different circuit board (given the different button placement)
What more should be different in order to qualify the Nexus 5 as "different" from the G2 (given the fact that the CPU is a common CPU which will be used by all manufacturers in their phones) ?

Taking LG history of not updating there phones add to that the carriers lack of timelynes plus the N5 is set to drop soon i highly doubt we will see 4.4 till at least Q2
Wait, it's from a PRIVATE Facebook chat? There was once LG posted that the next major update was coming to the Optimus 2X the following month. And it never did. So no, my hopes aren't high.

4.2.2 is running fine atm. No need to rush to 4.4.
As said before, I think Nexus 5 will have 4.4 alone for few months, after that LG will follow.

Why the G3 news keep resurfacing in G2 sub-forum?
People know there is a G3 forum, right?

I dont know if anyone is aware, the sprint LG G3 subforum is lacking in kernels and roms. If you want other roms or kernels go to the LG G3 Android Development. not sprint. Almost all of the roms and kernels support LS990. I'm using Xenon HD with the AOSP 777 kernel. Euphoria OS 1.1 also works fine. They are not GSM only and most of them support all variants.

Ive been using cloudyrom g3 2.5 has most g4 port including system ui, also on google + there is a banned member from xda who made lion rom 5.1 and it is amazing for the most part. So weird that the other variants have a lot more custom roms than in the sprint lg g3 subforum. I guest sprint variant is least popular...

Right? I just found this out. I love my LG G3. Like a lot. I haven't enjoyed a nice android device in a long time, and I was just hoping to help everyone out since the subforum for the sprint variant isnt as busy with new stuff.
Me and @engine95 have beening working on kernel so don't count us out
