[Q] Need suggestions on updating - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I have an Verizon S4 with build version ME7 and ANdroid version 4.2.2 that I rooted when I first got it. It is still stock and I have taken some of the bloatware off of it. I am looking to update it and after reading for 2 day now, I cant figure out which way i need to go. I cant remember what method I used to root and I dont have a custom rom on it. If someone could just lead me in the easiest direction and I can figure it out from there.
THanks

[Q] Need help on flashing stock

Hi guys,
I posted a question similar to this before, but did not get much reply.
I have a chinese Razr, and I would like to install an English stock 4.1.2 onto it. This is mostly because for some reason gapps do not work and I really do want gapps.
I have not flashed phones for two years so I have no idea what everything is. And it seemed like all these requires root. Which is my other problem: I cannot install root on this phone no matter what I try. Someone suggested to me that this was because someone had rooted this phone before in an unconventional way and this locked the phone for any future roots. And when I had updated to 4.0.4 I had lost the root and cannot regain it. I must have tried 20 different methods to root this phone already so I'm pretty sure this is hopeless until I flash a different rom.
In any case, my android version is 4.1.2 and system version is 672.300.384.XT910ChinaRetail.en.CN
And I would like to flash a stock 4.1.2 on it.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus (GT-9105P)

Hello, guys. I need some help, if you can.
First question is if i need to root my device before installing a 4.2.2 rom. Currently i have 4.1.2 JB, but it's from factory and i haven't got the update from official soft. I don't care why i haven't, but i want it to be done.
I've read thousands of forums about rooting, installing roms and etc, but i still have some questions.
Second one is: If i finally manage to do that update to 4.2.2, what rom should i go to from there on? Stay at 4.2.2 or go further? I need a stable one, i'm not really a andoid geek, but sounds fun to get into it.
Which rom should i trust to install? First of all, i know that if i want to install a newer one, i still need to go from a 4.2.2 so i'm stuck at him for now.
And the most important: Can you provide me a link to instructions? I haven't ever done a root or installed a rom, so i'm virgin in this kind of stuff.
Best regards, Dezaxat.
Up, please ?

[Q] Traveling with Root

Hoping someone could answer a few questions I have for my Saferooted Samsung S4 MK2 4.3
I plan to take a business trip to Europe later this month. Does anyone know if I will run into issues not having the latest 4.4.2 update on my phone? I hate to guess that it'll be fine just to get over there and my phone not work but I also do not care for the idea of losing root because of having to update.
Being it's been over a year since I rooted the phone and I haven't been following this scene. I'm not sure what my options are as far as rooting the S4 with 4.4.2. still gotta search that one. I appreciate any advice. Thanks.
Can anyone help?
I see that rooting 4.4.2 is still not an option. Will I need to unroot and update?
If I were you, just to be safe I would upgrade to 4.4.2 and stay on stock rooted software while on the trip.
You can upgrade by flashing a no wipe or (recommended) full wipe nc5 tar file with Odin. You can't use an OTA update when you're rooted, it will fail.
You can root 4.4.2 using www.towelroot.com , one click and you're rooted basically
Thank you for replying joshm.
I will look at it now to figure out what to do. Hoping it's not too difficult.
Thanks again for the help.

[Q] Update to Lollipop from 4.4.2 NC5

I'm just your average Android enthusiast, not nearly as talented and skilled as you devs, but I know my way around my phone. I am currently rocking the Galaxy S4 SCH-I545 NC5 (Rooted with Towelroot and Safestrap 3.72 installed). I never thought highly of Samsung's user interface and have wanted to upgrade to CM forever, but as each new update comes I really, really want it, so I carelessly take the OTA. I've done this far too many times so I decided to disable the system update app so I wouldn't be bothered by the new updates that come around.
Anyway, I think it's time to upgrade to Lollipop now that it's available, but I really want to keep root access, and since you guys are the professionals, I want to know the best way to flash the new update instead of take the OTA, which, if I'm not mistaken, will let me keep root and the small possibility that I can get Cyanogen some day. Is it best for me to just go ahead and take the risk-free OTA update, or should I flash? If so, can someone guide me through the process? I'm sorry if this sounds like child's play to you but I don't want to brick my phone in any situation, so it'd be great if someone could help me with this. Thanks in advance!

Update: I followed a tutorial to update to OC1, but was not successful (Wouldn't boot). I used Odin to reflash the NC5 and now I'm back where I started. Anyone have an idea?
Here's the link to the tutorial:

Edit: Tried this twice, both didn't work. I'm considering just taking the OTA and not getting root. What should I do?

Hello world, can I get some help please?

What's up XDA,it's been awhile.
I'm trying to bring my old beast back to life so that I can pass her along to my son.
It's been quite awhile since I messed with it at all and there are so many threads here to get info from I'm alittle confused.
Right now I'm back to stock running 4.1.1 VRAMC3.
Not rooted and no custom recovery.
I'd like to make my way to pac-man ROM as that is what used to run real good on my Note.
Could someone guide me to a thread I can use to safely root and put a custom recovery on it so I can then flash pac-man?
I believe I was able to bring her out of a bootloop using this thread.http://forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-galaxy-note-2-rooting-roms-hacks/233850-how-vzw-gnote2-return-100-stock-updated-5-12-13-a.html
I'm just not sure how to proceed from here.
Any help greatly appreciated.
