I acquired a Samsung Galaxy S3 (ATT) SGH-I747 that is seemingly soft/hard bricked. Here is the background as I know it. The individual from whom I obtained this device had previously installed a custom recovery, rooted and ran Cyanogen XX.x.
The device when booted flashes the Samsung logo (briefly) then Galaxy S3 appears in the middle with a Angry looking cyanogen dude at the bottom. The phone boots into download mode and since i have little to no knowledge of this, here is what i I have tried.
Kies 2.6 recovery = Fail
Odin 3.07 and 3.09 trying to flash different recoverys and or ROMs = Fail
I need some help getting the steps in the right order. Odin appears to freeze when verifying tar.md5's.
My objective is to return this device to STOCK, then learn how to mod.

Hi,
I have spent the last half day viewing various threads on bricked galaxy and tried some workarounds to no avail
I rooted my galaxy s2 with the K14 root and after I got a pass in Odin3 I the phone rebooted with the Samsung home screen and I got the yellow triangle with an exclamation mark.
I have tried the workaround on this site but I am not sure which stock kernel is for my model because I did not write down the full part named in the about of settings.
Is there anything that I can do to restore this to stock kernel please?
Found stock kernel for i9100 on a dutch forum. Download the zImage.zip. You need to flash that onto your phone.

Have an AT&T Galaxy Note II.
It was rooted and there were some strange problems happening with the phone from time to time so I decided to go ahead and unroot it.
As I have done before, I decided to restore the Galaxy Note II to its original firmware.
I got the AT&T SGH-I317 firmware from Sammobile.
Loaded Odin in Windows. Loaded the downloaded TAR file.
Upon hitting start the recovery would go about halfway then suddenly FAIL.
Tried it on a different computer. Same thing.
Now I cannot boot my phone. When I do, it goes into a firmware error mode and suggests KIES recovery.
KIES cannot even see my phone at this point.
Anyone have any suggestions? I am in the process of redownloading the firmware file, but I am guessing that is not the problem.
Thanks
(*Here's how the whole story started.) So I recently wanted to update my Galaxy S3, and for some reason the Baseband Version was different from other AT&T Galaxy S3 Devices. So, after I brought it in to Best-Buy they said they can't fix it, even though I contacted Samsung and they told me they could flash it with this ''SMART'' Tool (Which Probably is Odin3) Rooted or Not. I was tired of trying to fix this because, I was on 4.0.4 Ice-Cream Sandwich, and my friends bragging about the 4.4 KitKat Update they received. I literally tried everything, from clearing the Google Services and the AT&T Software Update on the Application Manager. I had the Baseband Version: I747UCLF5. I was tired of not getting the update, so I just flashed the Original ROM from Samsung-Updates, using Odin3. Samsung-Updates had only 4.1.1 Jelly-Bean, so I thought about just updating from Jelly-Bean.
(*Here's how the Samsung Galaxy S3 wouldn't turn on), and was stuck on a boot-loop.) So, continuing the story, I successfully updated to 4.1.1. Jelly-Bean. So, when I was on the 4.1.1 Jelly-Bean I checked for updates, and I successfully updated to 4.3 Jelly-Bean. Yes, I know that the 4.4 Kit-Kat update was out, so I continued updating the phone via OTA. When it finished, it started updating with AT&T Logo on top and the Percent with the Bar on the bottom. After it reached 100%, it was rebooting crazy. The Samsung logo went on and off and the phone went vibrating every second. I'm pretty sure my power button is not broken and when I put it in Recovery-Mode the same updating process came. (AT&T Logo, Loading Bar with Percent and a message saying ''Updating...''). Ever since that day, I re-charged it and I put it in Recovery-Mode, and same thing happens and when it finishes it's doing the boot-loop. I tried putting it in Download-Mode and tried to flash it with Odin3, but it didn't work at all. It had this error message. I'm pretty sure the Boot-Loop is caused by a Locked Boot-Loader. This is What it says in Download Mode.

Hi,
Yesterday my Tablet rebooted and ever since has been stuck on the Samsung Logo?
I'm fairly familiar with Odin since I rooted my device a year ago.
Looking at the guides on the net and youtube, It appears that I have load a Stock firmware or a Clockmod recovery onto the device whilst in download mode.
I have had several attempts where Odin displays failed at the end of the process?
Where can I get some decent stock roms or do I need a new rom altogether as I have already rooted my tablet (I never got around to loading a custom rom)
Most of the links on the net are very old and dead links.
Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can provide.
