I ordered the Ghost Glass and I see people always talking about Temperated Glass but never mention Mime..This is my first Temperate glass so I just bought what I felt looked nice from the reviews. Is Mime not a good company or is everyone just more interested in Spigen?

Spigen is just more well known. Mime is pretty popular as well.
I also just ordered one. I'm hoping that I'll be satisfied with it and that it'll fit in future cases. $28 is a pretty sizable investment in a screen protector for me

I have the MIME sitting on my desk. I chose them because of quicker shipping, warranty, and customer service.
MIME USA makes some great stuff, the only reason I didn't get theirs on the GN3 was I don't like how much of the top is exposed compared to others. I ended up getting BodyGuardz with a 20% returning customer discount on top of a 10% promo code AND it shipped today so my expectation is I will have it by Thursday in my mailbox.
Well I decided to opt for the Zagg Invisible Shield screen protector having read good things. It's been on my SGN3 for nearly 12 weeks now and I thought I would post an update on its performance to date.
I was a tad sceptical about going for this as it isn't tempered glass but is instead a highly advanced polymer. My experience of plastic protectors to date has been dismissive. They scratch, are difficult to apply and end up having to be changed within weeks.
The Zagg makes a big thing about its military spec roots and that it is used to protect helicopter rotors and is self healing using nano technology.
I dismissed this but what prompted me to post this update was what happened over the last 24 hours.
I'm an engineer and when on site am in an extreme environment. Yesterday the phone with its zerolemon set up got dropped and landed on its screen. The Zagg protector had a nasty impact crater and was almost pierced and scratched. I made a note to order a glass protector but when I picked up the phone 24 hours later the Zagg has self healed and is in perfect condition.
Pretty impressive. I've just ordered zagg for Mrs Scooters iphone and Juniors Nexus 7 and my galaxy gear.
It's not cheap but comparing this to a typical plastic protector is like comparing a smart phone to a calculator.
I'm very happy with it and now understand how they can offer the warranty.

I had a zagg hd on my S4 and though it was really good. Can be a pain though installing wet application protectors. Zagg also don't do a case friendly protector (or didn't) and can be prone to lifting around the edges when used with a case.
At the minute I use a tech 21 impact shield on my note 3. I really rate it to be honest and it is lasting really well.
Some people do complain about the feel that Zagg protectors add but I actually really like it lol

My one had thd option to buy as either cut for a case or cut to the edge. I have a case cut one with a Zerolemon set up...removed the Zerolemon protector and glue and binned it. Fits fine

That's good then, at the time I was using zagg they only did case optimised protectors for the iPhone.
I also found mixing my own application solution using hand soap made fitting alot easier. I've never really rated the zagg solution. Did you use the zagg stuff?

Lets see... I started using Zagg on my orginial S1... the captivate. You're right the original zagg is terrible with cases and has a textured skin feel but that is why they offer a full zagg cover for a lot of phones. Gives you something to grip and not easily drop.
I used my zagg protector on that phone for two whole years. My dad went through prob thirty plastic non-zaggs and he is more careful with his phone then I am. After I retired that phone... i took the worn out zagg off got a free replacement. PUT both in a box into the closet... with an attempt to use as a back up. Used my Xperia TL with another original zagg on it for two whole years... not one issue... no lifting on edges and I used a case and a holster with it. Retired that phone.
I now have a Note3 with the Zagg Hi-def screen protector... even better quality... I can't see it except the edges. Was much easier to put on too. I have had it on since Feb. Since I have dropped the phone... used a fake Spigen Sview on it ... which cut into my Zagg... self healed. Removed that [email protected]$$ case and now use it with a real Neo Hybrid. I highly recommend it... feels like class and I play games all the time.
My sister needed a phone... gave her the captivate with zagg... she keeps it caseless in her purse ... not a single issue.
As the title says, Zagg has finally added Original and HDX style screen protectors. They both ship more-or-less immediately, but their tempered glass one is still out of stock.
Head on over to http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/google-nexus-6-cases-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields to see.
I will be more than likely getting this.
I'm kinda curious to see if ZAGG can release a glass screen protector that fits the N6 correctly or should I say "seals" correctly.
I've been looking at my BodyGaurdz and I think the flat design would be OK if the adhesive was a little more, um, adhesive.
So anyway what is HDX? It's basically plastic right?
I've already gone though 2 of the glass ones from zagg ( they have been available in store since they launched the n6 ). The original from sprint, and the updated sku version directly from zagg ( not sure what changed ).. They do not fit any better then the others. They go right to the edge of the device, and over the curved screen to produce wonderful halo effects right over the proximity sensor ( no cut outs for camera or sensor ). My second one is in the mail box right now waiting to go back to them... I can live with some halo effects ( some, not what i'm getting ), but with no cut outs, it does effect the device. Stick with your bodyguards for now ( at least its got the cut outs for camera/proximity), or get the orzly which is cut smaller then the screen to avoid the curved edges. Only other option would be plastic ones, like the zagg HDX.
Save your money....

HDX is plastic like their original, but smoother and more transparent
Good to see, but I'm only interested in Glass which is still unavailable.
Zagg Glass in my experience are the easiest to put on, due to the easy plastic handles on the sides. Helps you line everything up perfectly.
Yeah that's kind of what I'm waiting for too is glass. I currently have a bodyguardz pure and it is not sealing on the edges.

I have been certain I wanted to get a glass screen protector for the N6, but the more I read about them the more it seems like it is unlikely I will find one that fits the N6 screen well. So I've been looking at the Zagg HDX. According to Zagg, the HDX actually provides better drop protection than the glass. However, the glass is better at resisting fingerprints. In regular day-to-day use, I"d probably have more issues with fingerprints than drops. However, fingerprints can be easily wiped away. A drop could do a lot of damage. So I'm starting to waver in my conviction that a glass screen protector is best.
Do you believe that the HDX would provide better protection from damage to the screen? And, if you've used the HDX or seen it, what do you think of the clarity? Any glare?
---------- Post added at 12:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:28 AM ----------
Since posting above, I did a little looking online to see what I could find out about Zagg HDX v Zagg glass screen protector. I ended up on Amazon. Since there are no reviews on these products for the N6, I took a look at the ratings for them on the iPhone 6+, thinking that it would be the most similar to the N6 in size and shape. Looking at the 30 most recent reviews, the glass averaged 3.95 and the HDX 2.88 out of a possible 5. From the glass reviews, the ones that concerned me the most mentioned chipping on the edges leading to cracks in the glass. From the HDX reviews, the most concerning were comments on how hard it was to apply, the lack of clarity, and problems with smudges and fingerprints. I'm still considering.
Edited to add: I went back to Amazon and checked out the reviews on the HDX for the Note 4, and they were much better---4.5 out of 5.
Just my experience with Zagg as a company I was a loyal invisishield user and was replacing two items through there warranty exchange. The items never came. I contacted them and they said they wouldn't charge me for not returning the items as they were moving locations and shipping was delayed. Long story short, I never got the items, Zagg charged me for not returning the defective products (because I never received replacement) and refused to refund me and fought my cc dispute. Pretty shady over 40 bucks. Just my experience

The best non glass one I've used (after trying 6 non glass and 3-4 glass) is the Spigen Crystal plastic one. I would recommend trying it. I still want glass, but I'll wait until they get it right.

On my previous phone - icarez was by far the best i've come across. I tried a few glass ones, but the halo left me reaching for a plastic one again.
Currently : http://www.amazon.com/Protector-Spigen®-Crystal-JAPANESE-Definition/dp/B00P1HJC2E on my phone and my wife's phone. As the previous poster said, hoping these companies will eventually get the glass protectors right.

I will confirm this. Have the Zagg Glass on my Nexus 6 and it has seal issues. Mostly around the speaker ports and slightly on the edges. It's a little better than some of the others out there, but IMO not near good enough. I've ordered a HDX replacement back on Dec. 26th and it was showing expected ship date as Dec 30th and still is. Spoke to them this morning and they said it was back ordered and they don't expect the HDX for N6 to be available until end of Jan.
I too find myself in a quandary regarding glass - its preferable, but if none of them are cut correctly then it seems something else will have to work in the meantime. Has anyone compared Spigen Crystal (one of the best "standard" plastic I've found), Zagg HDX, and Rhinoshield - in terms of color/clarity/fit/anti-fingerprint coating etc...? Zagg HDX and Rhinoshield are suppose to be "not quite glass, but impact resistant harder/clearer than normal film" types, so I wonder if it stands up.
Edit: I hear that Spigen and some other plastics manage to obscure/trigger certain sensors like proximity... has this been your experience with Spigen, HDX, Rhinoshield etc...? Also, I wonder how close the Rearth/Ringke protector is compared to Spigen - the Ringke design seems to have a proximity cut out where the Spigen does not...but I hear that few standard protectors have the clarity/slick glassy feel of the Spigen.

The Spigen has never given me any sensor issues and I've been using it since late november. I've seen people saying the Rhino Shield is cut way too big so it has a halo effect. The Spigen is the largest fit I have seen with plastic ones so far. I have tried Mr. Sheilds, Invisible Shield, iCarez, Spigen, Xtreme Guards, Jelly Comb etc.. and all of them have issues except for Spigen. I didn't like Spigens other Nexus 6 products (Neo Hybrid broke in a week, Slim Armor kickstand was too weak) however they nailed the screen protector in my opinion.
running the HDX here and no complaints with quality, came from the glass protector and it had the nasty halo effect, returned it told the dude at the kiosk, happily gave a refund and hooked me up with a free HDX, he had to get it specially cut in the machine, i guess this was when HDX was still unavailable at the time, but either way had a sheet of that stuff and just bam put it on, a few places of imperfections of the shield not completely "drying" out but beats better than having a naked glass for the meantime!
I just received my HDX in the mail today, after waiting more than 3 weeks for it to even ship. There is no cutout for the sensor or camera, which leaves me in dismay. There is also no fluid, this is a dry application screen protector, my first from Zagg. I've purchased at least 5 different screen protectors from Zagg, for tablets and phonesl and they have always been "wet" applications, so thats a little odd for me. The protector went on quite easily. The only "bubbles" are near the edges where it isnt sealing/adhering quite perfectly, especially at the speaker ports. I dont use the front camera too often so hopefully there wont be any issues from the screen protector covering it. 8/10
Edit: As a side note, I'm pretty worried that my case will push up on the edges of the screen protector, as it doesnt seal quite perfectly. I did not have this issue with my skinomi protector that I just replaced with this Zagg one.
Which skin brands are the best for the Nexus 6? And, will carbon fiber or leather provide the best level of grip and protection?

The 2 best right now is DBrand and SlickWraps...and ultimately it's really just preference... DBrand ships from Canada without tracking....so if you're lucky you get it in a week as a happy surprise, SlickWrap is probably be the fastest delivery time.
DBrand have most customization for the back... but SlickWrap will try to accommodate custom request and they also have skin for the side of the phone as well.
Quality is the same for both so no pro or con there.
Grip between carbon fiber and leather is personal preference as well. A lot of people think the leather provide the better grip. I personally say meh.. they're about the same in grip with the carbon fiber giving the better look.
Hopefully that help some
Also there is the round up.

Lol well when it comes to screen protector, it comes down to 2 factors.. do you want a traditional plastic SP or a tempered glass SP?
If its plastic you want, well good news you can really have your pick of the litter.
I personally like Skinomi screen protector http://www.amazon.com/Skinomi®-TechSkin-Replacement-Definition-Anti-Bubble/dp/B00OC1OL12
They are easy to install and once install its very clear without any yellowing or anything like that however, Skinomi is a wet application (wet = easy install)
For dry install I would recommend Spigen Crystal http://www.amazon.com/Protector-Spig...rystal+nexus+6
A lot of people favor it and said that it gives a glass like feel in addition to its clarity.
If you want tempered glass SP that works perfectly for everyone 100% of the times well.....so does everyone else lol
TGSP is really a giant hit or miss for everyone so far due to the Nexus 6 curve screen which result in a haloing effect near the edges (kinda of like a rainbow effect resulting from the SP not being able to adhere flush against the phone screen)
Jelly Comb as been the most successful for people http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QN2X718/
Others have success with Yootech http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NWL33OO
and Orzly http://www.amazon.com/Orzly®-Tempered-Protective-Protector-SmartPhone/dp/B00ORYY4IO
However, those last 2 does not cover a significant portion of the screen (that will have to be up to your personal preference if you can live with that)
There is also this thread you can search through http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/accessories/tempered-glass-screen-protectors-t2922645
Good Luck
I will never purchase from Slickwraps again. Due to the amount of Drama they start.
Never had an issue with Dbrand. Lead time is usually 5-7 days. Great Quality.

Again, many thanks! You're a tremendous resource.
For the last couple of weeks I had a Spigen SP installed, but the edges on it were a bit harsh. Last night I switched to a Skinomi SP, and am yet undecided. The edges are softer on the Skinomi, but the look and feel I think were better on the Spigen. I'm waiting out the multi day period on the Skinomi for the remaining bubbles, etc. to clear.
I also installed a Skinomi carbon skin last night, and so far the edge/frame pieces have come off completely, which is what spawned this discussion. From your feedback, a short while ago, I ordered a SlickWrap skin. And, I requested a refund from Skinomi.

Unfortunately the Skinomi doesn't have the greatest feel so I usually get the mated finish that way I just know it's not suppose to have a glass feel to it lol. Their skin is also crap. I've had both slickwrap and dbrand and they are both the same quality for the nexus 6.

I ordered 2 of these for my wife's and my Galaxy S8. After applying them, I waited at least 12 hours before putting a case on my wife's phone. The edges peeled up almost immediately. I have 3 different cases, 2 Ringke and a leather wallet style. All 3 of them had the same issue, on both phones. I was looking at the reviews for this on Amazon and noticed the seller, New Tech Accessories, said that Armorsuit has released an updated version of this screen protector that has a more precise cut.
I know these protectors were very popular for the S7 Edge, so if anyone else is in the same boat, contact the seller through Amazon. Looks like they are going to exchange the defective ones.

Oh no, I put an Armorsuit protector on my S8 last night. It's been on for over 12 hours but I haven't touched it yet. It looks really good on the phone. I have a Spigen ultra hybrid clear case. I hope I have better luck when I put the case on.
It shouldn't be an issue getting an exchange if you need it. Here is the reply to a user review on Amazon:
"Thank you for taking your time to leave us a feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your purchase.
It is possible that you may have received a defective item. The manufacturer ArmorSuit recently released an updated version of the screen protector for the Galaxy S8 so there is a more precise cut that is replacing the first version. It is possible that you may have still received the first version.
If you wish to place a case over your device, we recommend you allow the screen protector to completely dry for 12-72 hours.
We are more than happy to assist you with a free replacement if you would like to give our product another try.
We will gladly assist you with this issue. Please contact us through Amazon's Contact Seller Link. We are unable to assist you more deeply by reviews. Please mention this review [OR use the 'Permalink' to link us to your review] and include your Order # in your message to us. We look forward to serving you."

To my surprise I received 2 NEW improved design cut free of charge (only ordered one BTW) and didn't even ask the company for them! Getting my phone today so now I know why they sent them to me! You should be getting replacements too. If you haven't call or email them they stand behind their product!!
I have already sent them a message through Amazon.
I left mine on for 18 hours before trying with the case. It's buckled a tiny bit in the upper right corner and lower left corner. Other than that it's OK but very close to the case and I can see it possibly lifting on the edges with use. I assume I have one of the problem first batch. I'll contact them for a replacement either way just in case.
New Tech Accessories is sending me 2 new screen protectors. They did say if there were any more issues, I would have to do a warranty claim, which I don't think would be a problem. Also, they are just sending the protectors, so hopefully anyone else who is having an issue kept their squeegees and solution.
Same here. I have the zagg hd screen protector. My case came to days later and this is the result

You should be getting replacements too. If you haven't call or email them they stand behind their product!!

Are you going to be putting a case on your phone? Please let us know if the new designs work.
I got my new protectors. Not only did they send me replacements for the 2 that I ordered, but they sent me 4 extra. Haven't had a chance to try them yet, will do that tomorrow.
I can verify that the new protectors fit better. Tried multiple cases and no lifting at the edges.
After a couple of days the original Armorsuit protector started lifting up around the edges from contact with my Spigen Hybrid Ultra case. They sent me two of the revised more case friendly version without me even asking. I put it on 2 days ago and it is much improved. Fits my S8 with the Spigen perfectly. It looks great except for fingerprints. I just wish they come out with a glass protector that actually works and don't cost an arm and a leg. I really prefer that glass feel. Picture is attached but it doesn't do it justice because of reflections.
I bought an Armour Suit screen protector of Ebay and had no issues installing it. It fits great and the edges are not lifting. When installing, the edges did lift slightly, but I ended up using a hair dryer to let the edges stick. After applying the spray solution, when the skin adhesive drys a bit, it helps to adhere better. Also, my case doesn't cover up the edges as much as most popular cases which helps.

You probably received the newer version. The first version was labeled as case friendly but wasn't. The newer one is actually case friendly and fits correctly. Armorsuit is sending out new protectors to those who received the non-case friendly ones.
New version working well with Spigen Rugged Armor. I recommend trying the case on during the install, while everything is still wet, to see if the corners are positioned properly. Also, don't "pull" to hard on the protector while squeegeeing it, since the material can stretch (and if it does, it will be too close to the edges and then will lift when a case is snapped on).

Maybe OP should update thread title to reflect that the new version is "a go", especially considering Armorsuit sent everyone free replacements.
Not sure how to edit the title.
