Hello,
I bought recently my TS and now I need to upgrade it to 4.4 KK, but I don't know how to do this and which of ROMs is better to my TS.
Somebody can give me a suggestion ?

See kuronosan's thread for flashing with Unova Ironman KK:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oma...rom-omate-truesmart-ironman-firmware-t2998434
However, it is very likely that you semibrick the TS in the process. Just flash again and again.
But there are no full brick that I know of. (I had to flash like 40 times until it worked the first time, but most reflash since then has been OK.)

What they said. I was able to upgrade from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2 successfully with minimal issues along the way. I have even been able to get AT&T 3G working on my Truesmart!
The only things that don't work on my Truesmart are sensors, but it's a compromise I was happy to make for much better battery life

hello all!
it's been awhile when i last flashed my rooted s3. the firmware which i've used is: I9300XXUGMK6
it worked well, but now it's struggling and hanging. goes back to the home screen from itself and such.
i don't have much extra apps running, almost slim. i do have one of those devices which have this
memory bug. has this been resolved by now or can i dodge this device into the trash??
besides that, i've looked through the forums but can't get along with all the thread jungle here.
is there any newer version than 4.3 which is able to run on this device? i've read that 4.4 kitkat
isn't made for this device but've also seen that some guys managed to fix something together.
is it save yet to use such a firmware or is there any firmware which fixes the memory bug?
sincerly

It's normal, every rom after more time of use may lag or freeze, a solution is to format internal sdcard or flash a AOSP custom rom like cyanogenmod, omnirom etc

don't understand this, but I suggest [Nano 8.1](http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/rom-ncsrom-v8-0-nh4-19-09-2014-t2895496) : your S3 will fly. With 4.4-TouchWiz-Roms I would wait still 2 month...

The memory bug you are referring to only affected CM based roms and not the others.
There are quite a few kitkat roms for the i9300.
Ditch the stock and flash something else.
Dear friends,
It looks like we lost few great dev so far, and face a lot of abandoned rom. Since then, i would try to use one custom ROM for my daily driver, and to use it a long time (since i would go abroad and will not flashing the device on abroad). Which custom ROM is most stable for daily use, and no need to update baseband (because i found it so hard to update). Thanks friends..

Hello.
I'm using currently Rammars Paranoid 4.4.4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-l9/development/rom-paranoidandroid-4-6-t2933958 , been using it for daily use(mostly twitter, whatsapp and instagram), no problem with that, pretty smooth fast, i suggest using Nova launcher, and if you like eye candy, get the Androidl theme from playstore, as far as you keep away from gaming, and really heavy apps, it is stable. No kernel panics, no unexpected shutdowns/reboots. All great. But the onlydownside, surprinsgly the best battery life i stumbled upon was for rammars lollipop, 5.3.2 the most stable to be exact.
Still, i`m right now about to restore CWM backup of a nandroid (v20h) to be back on stock, becaue, honestly, there won't be a more stable ROM than stock.
If you still have a stock rom installed, updating rom and baseband won't be difficult, if OTA or the LG Flash Tool won't give you anything newer than v20h(like in Europe) you need the appropiate KDZ file.
With a custom rom, seemingly the LG drivers and tools no longer recognize the phone, and getting back to stock or updating bb gets a bit complicated. I wrote down my sad story in Artas' thread, an finally I even succeeded, it's all there.

Sorry for offtopic, but getting back to stock is pretty easy if u use NANDROID, but if you want a full wiple, like the way you bought it, no CWM no nothing, KDZ flashing does the trick.
I'm sorry, didn't notice the baseband thing, on what baseband are you at?
hi i'm used 4.4.4. artas and think it's the better i have a p768
My boyfriend's AT&T Galaxy Alpha just auto-updated to lollipop.. nothing seem to work correctly, even with a factory reset. Everything was working perfectly fine on Kit Kat. I was wondering is it possible to downgrade back to Kit Kat with this phone?
I have limited experience with Android. I know it is possible to do this for devices that is rooted (e.g my Galaxy S5 or my Nexus 7). But I don't quite know where to start for the SM-850A, where the device is not rooted.

Hello,
Downgrading is not shown as an option, neither is someone working on a root exploit for either of the versions (KitKat and Lollipop in this case) so I guess you're stuck with the Lollipop version. Although its not that bad you could wait for someone to release a rooting method so it could get easier for you to downgrade but until then you're stuck :/ Sad to say there arent much choices with that model :/
Best regards,
James

Thanks James! yeah I know this model doesn't have a root and I don't think it will ever be an option (never say never but meh!)... But curious was it possible to downgrade without a root. Thanks for answering my question I like the phone, I did buy it for myself (and the bf too).. but I returned it after seeing there was no root... but the bf kept his...now he is hating it!
Did you tried to download your stock KK ROM and flash it with odin??

Hello,
The issue is that you cannot get the KitKat firmware from anywhere, nobody has ever tried to upload it at all, otherwise I would of recommended it for sure.
Best regards,
James
you should try to download the stock KK from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G850F/

I need someone to help me port a custom recovery to my device: Blu Life One 2015. All I really need is a stock ROM. I am on a Google+ page and tons of people bricked their devices because they installed a stagefright update OTA while rooted. I know it seems obvious and they shouldve unrooted first, but these people paid good money for their phones and the manufacturers aren't helping at all., let alone just releasing the stock rom So, is there anyone out there who could help me. I'd be happy to send you any data you need just keep in mind, I can't use any recovery or ROM to do this.
beep.... need it too

Hey - followed the old thread after I pulled my bricked life one out of a drawer.
Yeah I rooted mine, Yeah it went into a boot loop after the OTA attempt.
Yeah, I spent hours on the phone with Blu...
So here is what is different for me
1) after loading a pc with the qualcom drivers, and qfil program, and the V17 rom - the device does not communicate over usb. (so these tools are useless to me)
2) it no longer boot loops, and ends up after a couple of minutes in ktu84p recovery. The recovery does have an update from sd card option.
Anyone have an update for this method?
If not suggest how to make one from the V17 image?
or
Advise how to get USB working?
Thanks!
Hey guys,
Got on hands noname Chinese android phone with lollipop on board (even though it says 6.0.1 in settings) and MTK6580 quad processor, 3.10.72 kernel
can I somehow put cyanogen rom from another phone?
Yes, find another phone using that chip: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_devices_using_Mediatek_SoCs
Then go here: http://www.needrom.com and find THAT phone(s) and see if there is a custom rom for THAT phone also using the same kernal 3.10/3.12 etc
Download that rom and port it yourself using the boot.img from YOUR phone using this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-how-to-port-lollipop-based-roms-t3223938
And get it at least booting on your phone, out of loads I've done on MTK phones, 95% boot up first time, 50% of those have no issues, the other 50% have issues with cameras/wifi/video/phone that can be fixed literally with trial and error of swapping files from your stock rom to the new rom, can take hours/days of trial and error or could take minutes.
Have fun
EDIT: try to use a custom rom from a brand you have at least kinda heard of, doogee, walton, infinix...etc to make it more likely to work well.

Thank you for your response!
After few hours of research I have found many ROMs that are applicable for my phone. The thing is, I want it to be and look as close to stock android as possible, and as close to most recent version as well.
But still I have few questions:
1)Am I right by saying that kernel 3.10.72 is suitable only for android 5.x?
2)Is it possible to put android 6.x or 7.x?
3)If it is do I need to ugrade kernel?
4)Is it possible to upgrade kernel?
I really hope it's not too much to ask from you.

Your phone is basically the same as mine, and sadly the kernal has to be the same for every custom ROM, there are no kernel sources so no custom kernels, which means we are both stuck with lollipop
The infinix hot 2 for example, is the same MTK chip and was released with lollipop and kernel 3.10 but then infinix released a stock marshmallow upgrade, with a stock 3.12 kernel so they could get a custom 6.0 rom which im 99% sure we will never get.
If you go here: http://www.needrom.com/author/robneymcplum/ this is me on there, where I have ported the best 5.1.1 roms with our kernel. You will need to port to your phone, which is literally just swapping about 10 files from your stock rom so make a backup of your stock rom or find stock firmware, and get the files from there and use the guide i already posted.
Hope this helps. And if you have never done it, its way, WAY easier than you think it might be
