CM12 with Cellular Data Fix - Android 5.0 - Unofficial Port - Redmi Note 4G
Firstly, this is not a flashable zip from receovery. This is a fully working ROM from TWRP backup. I tried to make it flashable zip but somehow didnt succeed and also didnt get time to work further. I will do it when I get little free time.
Instructions:
1. MUST HAVE TWRP RECOVERY ON YOUR DEVICE
2. Download the ROM on your computer and extract it.
3. Copy the extracted ROM to your sd card > TWRP > Backup folder
4. Wipe system, data, cache and dalvik cache
5. Restore > Select the copied ROM backup from SD card.
This includes GAPPS as well. Other addons you can flash as you want from other sources. As per my usage can be used as daily driver if you want change from MIUI and want to see lollipop in your Redmi Note 4G.
Data FIX:
I have included a script that needs to be executed when you toggle/enable mobile data.
1.) Toggle/enable mobile data
2.) After a min hit the "Data on: widget in home screen. You will get an IP address and data must work flawlessly!
If you get Invalid IP address, hold on for a min and hit data on widget again until you get IP address. Network takes few seconds to assign IP.
Note: If you do not want widget on home screen, you have to go to gscript and run the data on script when you toggle mobile data.
If you use another launcher, just add widget of gscript to home screen, it will ask for the script, point it to gscript.
If anyone can make it as flashable zip, you are most welcome. Please upload and give me link to add to this first post.

Its weird nowadays. That the common bugs hasn't being solved, but, some blokes kept posting new "ROMS" even though its not new. Just being ignorance, or just want to post things in XDA forum.

Assuming that OP wrote "This is a FULLY Working Rom" in the red lines, I think it should work. Anyway camera is just google camera, might try using another camera app. The biggest problem is Mobile Data connection.
if someone tested..please replay..
Just tested this ROM..after I restored it..it show 3g mobile connection.. but I just can't connect to any website LOL and camera force close..now I'm back to mokee ROM and I think this ROM isn't ready yet for daily use.

I think he only provide download when he thinks that the ROM is ready for daily usage and all function is working
Got work around for data!
after spending some good amount of time I managed to get a work around for mobile data(both 2g and 3G) that's working well. I'll upload my rom tomorrow.

Camera force closes.
I flashed all the files you provided according to the instructions and everything works except for the camera, I get a black screen then force closes. And there are 3 small bugs: one is on screen>advanced settings I press that option and it doesn't do anything, the other had something to do with the network settings but I forgot what was the problem, sorry. And the last one is that I can't activate the battery saver (maybe that's not a bug, I don't know.) But it's a great ROM overall

Ok, just dirty flashed 11/20 over 11/19. SD card, WiFi, NFC all appear to be working. I can't check mobile data/calling right now, though. Camera seems to be working fine on this one! (oddly enough, though, I can only activate Camera from my lockscreen because it doesn't show up in the app drawer, maybe I have it hidden) Only small thing, as mentioned above, is Settings > Display > Advanced Settings doesn't do anything. Not sure if this is only this ROM, or something related to CM12 in general. Battery saver, however, does seem to work for me.
Thanks again for the work, brothaedhung! This is already DD material for me. I'll test out the battery life over the next few days, and report back. Looking forward to more from you, particularly as the CM team implements more features.
Edit: One more minor thing. Even though I have Location Services turned off, the icon still appears in the status bar.
Rom fully working, but very fast buttery drained, i am repair from TB 20 apps, 1 reboot and my battery lasted for ~1h, deviec hot, i install Trickster mod uc to 384-1,1ghz(device laggy)
and yet noticed, when the phone is completely turned off and charging, the error ap watchdog bark detected with green screen
I have not can see the phone memory after repeated flashing(
take screenshot->"Couldnt capture screenshot. Cant take screenshot due to limiter storage space, or it isnt allowed by the app or your organization."

It is unencrypted and yes is can be encrypted just as easily as most other roms.
Do we need to unmount system and flash SuperSU?
Does anybody know how to get the google now launcher to work, as in get it as the default launcher. I tried clearing the defaults for launcher3 but it has the button for clearing the default settings is greyed out. Other than that the rom is great and smooth. Cant wait until its gets more features though

I used the full Gapps listed in the OP but still had to install the launcher from the play store. That cleared it up for me.

Yes and I wiped before flashing.
Finally, we are having CM11 at the normal level. We (andreya108 and myself) were working very hard on CM11 and this the outcome. This is the joint work by both of us so please thank andreya108. There are lot of unknown issues to be tested and fixed but the most disastrous bugs are not present anymore. E.g. uncontrolled processor, reboots, battery drain, unstable GPS etc. From here onwards, we can discuss the issues arisen from long-term use of firmware since before this nobody had used this for daily. We do not claim that this is the complete version hence please do not flood the thread. If you have an issue send a personal message. At this moment, it is only for CN layout. This is just a beginning……

Changing 2G/3G network mode using the Quick Settings toggle is not supported
Restart the phone after first boot.
It could take a while to get the SIM signal if you are in roaming, if not choose operator manually and restart.
Work in progress ... If you encounter problem try to find some apk which can do job for you.

Cyanogenmod for this device was beyond our imagination.
There still little bugs but the most important ones are fixed.
Also if you experience battery drain, it is due to gapps. serach xda to disbale the waklock by google play services using privacy option

Hello,
S226 is ROW version ROM. This cm ROM is for CN layout. First You have to flash CN based ROM using flashtool after that only flash this ROM using twrp recovery.

Yes, main bugs are fixed.
Using this ROM. Great ROM.
Till now working as mentioned in your main post. Not found any major bugs.
Can be used daily if cyanogenmod is your priority.

Please backup ur IMEI number. Also note that once ur on CM version and u restore ur IMEI, u will have to follow a process to hard write the IMEI number back to ur phone. Else every time u do a factory reset, it will erase the IMEI

Hi @stympy, thank you for your help. I flashed CM11-B2 successfully yesterday and so far everything seems to be good. I do have one question, however. The MIUI ROM you linked me to apparently disables internal phone memory and moves everything to external SD. Can you please link me to a FlashTool flashable CN based ROM that doesn't do this? Thank you!

Link. One of the best firmware. Unfortunately this one has no TWRP. You can install TWRP by using my tutorial fromQ&A section/Rooting tutorial for kitkat.

Hello and thanks for trying.. So it eventually booted? Supesu can cause those kind of reboots while it sets up. . The cm was was made for Tmobile and international.. You could try to make sure apn is right and change your data connection. Like from 4g to 3g. Sometimes that triggers it. And what modem are you using?

Then it would probably be due to the sprint CyanogenMod. I can't tell you how stable they are as I have an SM-N920I.. But if you tried the other Cm. Do you get data?

Try checking your apns and that they are correct. And changing.. If that doesn't work.. It might because of sprint device. Fingers crossed.

It is very much a work in progress and any issues should be reported here, please make any backup efs back ups, and nandroids

As that is what I am using as my daily driver and if you have random reboots there are ways to fix that. Just report what is making you reboot and I will help you as much as I can. Camera doesn't work.
Some apps don't work unless you personally remove it's libs and stop them from generating. (eg chomp sms on message send)

In install menu select install image(right side) then select img then tick boot and swipe to install. When installing zips select install zip back again
Or install an app called flashify and select that img as kernel and flash

3. Swapping Data sim card gives reboot. And then it gets bootloop. Then go to recovery and just dirty flash the MIUI MM 2 rom zip again and it will get fine.

How to flash
1. Download Miui_MM_3_Redmi2.zip and a-gapps package.
2. Reboot to twrp recovery
3. make backup of current rom
4. Now wipe data, cache, system and dalvik cache
5. now flash Miui_MM_3_Redmi2.zip and a-gapps
6. when flashing completes reboot to system
7. wait till rom boots, and it will take some time to load miui 8 setup.
Note. It shows no sim card...but dont worry it is fine. Sims are loaded properly ...
for Volte and data you need to set APN in setting.
Note2- Only for porters. If anyone is trying porting and editing chinese rom...and you want to delete chinese apps...you only need to delete superSU zip in rom. Chinese devs are containing their chinese app in SuperSu zip.

oh srry i forgot to mention....keyboard is removed because it was chinese and i didnt added any other keyboard to reduce rom size....
you can skip skip setup...and then install any keyboard apk from backup and then enable it ....
it will work fine...

I cant skip setup because in my previous miui rom i was signed in....so it asks me to type in my password stating this device was signed in using an account.
Im in love with this rom it was kind of my dream...please help

i was also signed in..but i didnt get this and i skipped setup.
Now go in this below link and download Google keyboard for arm device.
Dont download arm64 .....
and then flash it...it should work...

restore your old miui backup and turn off find device...
use that miui for 10-30 min with data ON
then flash this rom...
and then check is it saying same...

ROM Looks great. But have some doubt
1) is this based on lollipop firmware?
2) does this make worse experience in 1gb ram phone? Like miui LP ROM.

1. Is original MIUI framework is included in this ROM? Means will it support MIUI themes?
2. What is the structure of the zip? Does it contain separate data and system image along with all the loaders like MIUI or just the system.img like most other CM ROMs?
3. What about OTA and update stuff?

1. yes miui themes working... I tried only 2-5 themes...
2. It is a dirty port taking cm13 as base. So it is not containing data and system seperate images or .dat file...
It is having file system same as KK rom zip files.
3. Ota will not work.
