So i went to my local Verizon store to return my Lapdock 100 that i have no use for and had to ask them when ICS would be official and they said it should have been out 2 weeks ago but their was a few bugs left to fix but the official date they gave me was June 27!!! so we will see huh....
Please don't post crap in the Development section : a) You are no a developer b) This is NOT development.
You're new, may i suggest you go HERE and spend a little of your time?
^Echo...
You should only make threads in Development if you are releasing something or making a how to (and that last one depends). Moving to General.
Cheers
Edit: Unapproved my post as it was my mistake.
Just wondering if any beta testers have anything to report on the latest release from Asus ... When did you receave it, How is performance ? Does it address the I/O issues?
If you can - please update here to help everyone at xda-developers.com

Esp for those you wish to keep to stock!
I have not received anything since the 28.5 firmware update a LONG time ago.
If JB is coming in the "coming months" as announced today.. who cares about some updates to ICS now. It's old news.
I care, because, I'd like to have a tablet I can use. Right now, it's pretty damned annoying.
Just like "months" is irritating. I'd get excited about early august.

Exactly. JB is great and all, but how about providing me with a decent, usable tablet first. It's been almost 8 friggin' months now.
so, rather than agressively work on the next latest OS, you want them to continue to dilly dally with ICS versus just getting on with it? it takes them months between ICS releases and the issues are not improving. Why not take months and get on with JB and making it happen.
not me. ICS, forget about it... lets get on to the next OS versus wasting time, resources, effort, on an ICS

Well first of all, hello all Prime users. I am relatively new to forum and checking this section because I recently purchased Infinity. I believe it may perhaps be two different things. ICS & JB are OS but they can potentially fix the issue based on the Kernel if so they probably should as there is probably a good chance they are going to use the kernel on JB. So what I mean is JB may show up but if they continue to use the same Kernel and if it is indeed the issue.... So yeah if these firmware update are referring to OS tuning then won't worth it but if it is Kernel, which they use for both JB & ICS then they should fix it on ICS before potentially introducing new issue with JB.
Nothing they do to IML74K 4.0.3 will solve the 201's problems.. just my opinion
If they push JB they better have an updated kernel.

I hope so too. I suspect a lot of problems would be solved with a fresh kernel with updated drivers.

Lets try again: Where are all the many beta testers of alfa softwareversion, there should have been ready 8 month ago! Gary from ASUS mention them all the time. Can't se any clue of them....

I agree but no way to know for sure until Gary stops blowing smoke up our asses and actually posts new firmware that is if any actually exist.
For me I'd rather be testing new JB software with a 3.1.x kernel like the one on the Nexus 7 than dicking around with 4.0.3.
The thing is - they say "months". Which is how many, exactly, 3 or 5 or 7 ? And wouldn't it be a little bit unpleasant, if after 3 months of waiting we'd get same crashing crap, like 28 is ?
And damn I hate this secrecy. Honestly, waiting wouldn't be so much of a trouble if I knew what the problem is and what're the chances they're fixed in JB.
No-one would wait if it were for a TV, don't see how it's different for a tablet.

Based on the ASUS previous reputation/track record, which is now further strengthened by the fact they are the official Nexus maker for tablet, we will still see it before anybody else.
Developer Options Limit background processes
I would love to have JB and I keep coming back to the forums to see if there's any good news but never what I want to hear. I too would like to beta test any firmware that came down the pipe.... The one thing I have done and found it on another thread in here, Limit background processes to 4 in Developer Options. It has made all the difference to me on how the tablet runs. Its always quick and runs more like I had hoped. There's always a bunch of nonsense on why the tablet is terribly slow, but this has made me happy until JB comes out. I expect Asus to mess it up and continue to messing it up but when its all said and done I'm still pretty happy!

Any news on the new version Gary announced on 16th July 2012?
It seems Gary is too busy dealing with the damage control over on the tf700 forum unfortunately. I think the Prime's are going to take a seat even further back(although I didn't know that was possible)
only info known on it so far from speaking to him.

It will address I/O issues. Could possibly have some JB features/components in it. This is likely the last ICS update before JB. Beta version for testing hasn't released yet because its not ready yet, or at least when I spoke to Gary few days ago.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...e-updated-to-android-4-3-by-end-of-september/
Who else is as excited as I am?
Jumping straight from 4.1.2 to 4.3. By the end of September at that!
Just read this from AP as well and came here to see if their was a discussion about it. I am very excited. Currently using CM 10.2 but will be excited to try out Sense 5 4.3
I failed to notice someone already posted a Thread re this. My apologies. Delete if need be
He says it needs certification. Wait for Verizon to give that certification.
I'll give you a hint: don't start holding your breath in September waiting.
The same page that posted and then deleted an image (see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/m4-aqua/general/android-6-marshmallow-m4-t3205768) related to updates to Sony Xperia devices published today (06.10.2015) a list of 14 devices that will receive.
The post is says:
"With the arrival of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, we received many questions about our devices that will be updated, so that's the official list:
[devices]
The dual-SIM models of these devices will also be updated. We are working hard to ensure that this Chege update in as many devices as possible, as fast as we can.
We will release more details about the improvements and new developments that the new version will bring the Xperia devices soon, so keep an eye! "
As we can see in the list, it seems that the update will come first for the dipositivos series Xperia Z, and then M5, C5, M4, C4. I think that more devices will receive this update, this seems to be the first who will receive.
Thanks for reading.
Oh my god... Why do you start a new thread?? And you quote from an existing thread of the same topic...
I dont get it.
Ok its good news but not worth a new thread.. Especially because it will probably take months before we'll get M on the M4

The whole M4 Aqua general section is just reposts of the same thing, even within a thread.. it's sad
So, I usually change ROM on my N9 LTE every once in a while, and it's that time again. Are there any upcoming Custom ROMs coming soon for the N9? Google and XDA Search didn't give me an answer. If that's the case, I'd rather wait a week for it than flashing stock.
Be patient. Marshmallow is brand new. Development will come, but the guys who make it are doing it in their free time and asking for ETAs is against the rules of this forum.
Also, Marshmallow is awesome and I'd recommend using it in the meantime until someone has made a custom ROM.
EDIT: there is one already, posted a day before you asked this question: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-9/development/rom-t3219572
It may be a while. This seems to be the LEAST supported nexus tablet ever.
