Page "Ajuda Xperia" facebook confirms Android 6.0 Marshmallow - Sony Xperia M4 Aqua

The same page that posted and then deleted an image (see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/m4-aqua/general/android-6-marshmallow-m4-t3205768) related to updates to Sony Xperia devices published today (06.10.2015) a list of 14 devices that will receive.
The post is says:
"With the arrival of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, we received many questions about our devices that will be updated, so that's the official list:
[devices]
The dual-SIM models of these devices will also be updated. We are working hard to ensure that this Chege update in as many devices as possible, as fast as we can.
We will release more details about the improvements and new developments that the new version will bring the Xperia devices soon, so keep an eye! "
As we can see in the list, it seems that the update will come first for the dipositivos series Xperia Z, and then M5, C5, M4, C4. I think that more devices will receive this update, this seems to be the first who will receive.
Thanks for reading.

Oh my god... Why do you start a new thread?? And you quote from an existing thread of the same topic...
I dont get it.
Ok its good news but not worth a new thread.. Especially because it will probably take months before we'll get M on the M4

thats the only reason why its delayed ;-)
update for NEO was also delayed and got 4.0.4 instead of 4.0.3....

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we'll get it by the end of the year.
I hope Sony doesn't further delay ICS (it was supposed to be released by now per Sony's schedule, but delayed for the end of July) because of JB, I want 4.x ASAP.
i hope sony skips ics and gives us JB instead the offline voice messaging feature is awesome

they cant afford to miss ics i would suggeest as the phone has so many problems in its current state i.e software bugs and call/network dropping. If they dont sort these quickly then nobody will care about jellybean as they will have got rid of the phone by the time that happens. Im on the verge of this now...at the end of the day it has to function as a reliable phone and at the moment its not.
It most certainly is on it's most current released firmware, B.1.564. You can downgrade back to it, B.3.162 was pulled and you should not be using it.

so what am i missing here then?
so they brought the phone out, then released an update for it to solve what?....and then realised that actually it created more problems than it solved and then pulled it?.....where have they then come out and said that you should roll back and put the original firmware back on it?
seems to be very few forums for the xperia p anywhere so ive not come across much information about how this problem is being fixed. Would appreciate any links or info you have though as i really want to give this phone a chance but its being let down terribly at the moment.
Already explained here. I suggest reading the stickies in order to familiarize yourself with Flashtool and for other useful information regarding the NXT line.

yes you gave me the link etc in the xperia p thread which i thanked you for however my question was around the fact that having released a firmware (.62) in a bid i assume to correct some problems it seems that it actually created more than it solved. You have recommended that i roll back to the earlier build that i have not actually ever had as the phone updated itself within a few mins of having it. I am willing to roll back if you feel this will make the phone more reliabe as a phone however i was interested to know where it had been said by sony that we should do this or where the general discusion on here was about it.
what ever we get we get it quick and bug free i heard xperia p has alot of bugs in gingerbread

Exactly my point which is why they can't afford to wait until the end of the year. They need to sort it and sort it fast, don't think there has been one solid phone in the xperia range released yet. All have so much potential, fantastic hardware and then ruined by shoddy software.

You're definitely getting it sooner or later.
I'm guessing ICS in late July or early August, and JB somewhere in Q4 2012.
Though the sooner we get ICS and Sony releases it's kernel sources, the better... I'd like to see some custom ROMs floating around, especially FreeXperia's CM for the P.
ICS is on the way right now as we've seen with the Xperia S and other handsets. As for Jellybean, you'll be looking later in the year, if not in the new year. Well, I suspect.

Compared to the SGS2, the P is actually in a little lower range. The S is about the same.

Android L

Hey folks,
Do you know if there are any developers working on porting Android L Developers Preview to our G2?
It's just that the Nexus 5 and the LG G2 are very similar on hardware, it seems like it's not that complicated.
Thanks.
Please don't move the thread to Q&A, it's less a question and more a discussion.
you already have a thread(s) with this question and it's been answered just a few days ago...

Well, depends on how difficult it is to port it to the G2. If it's difficult and could take a lot of time I agree with you, start developing a ROM would be a waste of time.
But if it's an easy work (as I said earlier, the Nexus 5 and the G2 are similar) then making a ROM that matches the exact one running on the Nexus without any more features, would be very nice and something to play with until the full version comes out. And my guess is that the full L will be close (in the way of how it works) to the preview, so it might help developing later.
I think will be develop L port for our device after will be published official L sources by google

I agree with you. It would be fun to play with. I don't see why it's such a pain to do seeing that the devices are so close in specs.
Giga they are close in specs with chipset and screen but they have lots of differences regarding hardware. Its also hard to port an android version what your phone doesn't have yet and also taking the risk to do it the biggest problems are the kerne i guess. It would be theoritically possible to just flash the android l from the nexus 5 on the g2 and it might boot but its highly risky and things like wifi etc probably don't work and it could cause screen problems like the stripes issue since we don't know yet what it causes to get like that.

Calling for developer to take over Paranoid Android Project

According to this Google+ post, support for the Xperia Z Ultra will be dropped for Paranoid Android because there isnt a maintainer anymore or something. I just wanted to call out any developers who are willing to take over this project. I have no coding skills whatsoever but I think plenty of people on this thread still want to use Paranoid Android, especially after the Lollipop update.

sorry i can't figure out a way to link to a particular post so instead I took a screenshot of the aforementioned post.
Let's wait and see when the first builds start dropping! For now, the Z1 and Z1 Compact are still officially supported (thank you, SuperHanss and OmarEinea), which are very similar and not difficult to adapt to the Ultra. :good:

[Q] GPE Lollipop Update

Are there any Information when the GPE will receive the Lollipop Update?
Since Sony is closely to release Lollipop for the Z-Line, it shouldn't be that far away...
Sony itself says: "The first device receiving Lollipop will be the Xperia Z U GPE"

Google Play edition devices
Updates to Google Play edition devices are managed by the device manufacturers, not by Google. Google works closely with the manufacturers to provide system updates shortly after a new version is released. Once an update is available, it can take up to two weeks for it to reach your device. Google Play edition devices may not receive the latest version of Android if they fall outside of the update window, which is usually around 18 months after a device has been released.
Above paragraph copied from this link. https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/4457705?hl=en
Edit....I take the part about two weeks to refer to a staged rollout, and not two weeks from Googles release of the OS.
So what does that put the ETA at? 2 weeks from Nov 11 (n5 release) would put it today....

Yeah it would. I was hoping Sony would get this update out fast, but it doesn't look that way. The only play edition devices that have said much about their lollipop updates is htc. I'm assuming they will have submitted it to google any day now and get it out. I'm curious how fast after new android versions has the xperia z ultra gotten them?
Sony is starting to amuse me. Motorola already released an update, Nvidia also, HTC is very nearly there, and now I read that there is even a leak for Galaxy S5. Our GPe device still got nothing. Prompt updates? Yeah, right... They even didn't give us any info on update status.
And I thought Samsung took forever with updates...I mean atleast the GPE device Sony...why you so cruel?

They really should at least give some update on it. Even if they just said itll be out in a few days I'd be happy.
Thread moved to q&a.
You want me to put the hammer down?

When will we get 5.0 lollipop to our phones?

Sony said that lollipop will come in February but now it's March and lollipop didn't came out.
And which customizations will get it first?
Nobody knows when it will be released, be patient. And nobody knows what customisation versions it will hit first.
Sony will announce it soon, I'm expecting them to announce a release date at some point during MWC.
To be honest the only confirmed date I've read is Q1. But I'd rather wait and get a good build, I've had Samsung devices earlier and they took 3 or 4 extra updates to be good
In Q1 somewhere so in the first 90 days of the new year, have patients !
It bothers me alot of we get threads like this or ask in excisting threads about LP when we get it -__-
Patients is the keyword to wait patiently !!
