Hi guys - I've been an intermediate rooter / tinkerer since the (HTC) G1 days, so I'm feeling very noob right now.
i have a stock rooted vs985 (Verizon G3) on 12b with TWRP recovery. I'd found a link that said Cloudy G3 was working with this version, so i tried installing it, unfortunately in the aroma installer I think I selected the int'l variant. Now, all my phone does is go to recovery. I've tried flashing other roms, restoring back ups, wiping everything and doing the same, no luck. I can get to TWRP and download mode, but I don't have a viable computer option to go the way of LG Flash Tool or the like.
Any options I can use ON my phone via TWRP?

Hopefully someone else will correct this if I'm wrong, but without a computer, no - I don't think there's anything you could do to fix that. Maybe you would be able to use a computer at the library, or use someone else's? You really need to flash the 12B KDZ, or 10B KDZ first if you want to root again after.
Sorry for the bad news, hopefully you or someone figures something out.

In the meantime, have you checked to see if it will still go into Download mode? With the phone off, press and hold the power button and while doing that, plug a USB cable that's already plugged into a (PC normally but maybe it can still be tested with a charger adapter?), plug it into the phone and the phone should turn on into Download mode. If so, then hopefully flashing the KDZ will sort it all out.

It does. Download mode works fine, I just can't use LG Flashtool or ADB on my work laptop to go that route.

I know you didn't take an OTA, but have you tried the method that fixes being stuck in twrp after an OTA? It can be done using terminal command in twrp. It may be worth giving it a shot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696

My God, man, you're a savior. Used Terminal Command in TWRP. Worked like a charm. Granted it put me on 11C, but at least my phone's working. Not sure why I didn't come across this in my 2 days of searching.
I owe you a craft beer, my friend.

Currently I have a rooted Sensation.
I tried to install a theme using Rom Manager.
It said it installed successfully.
I reboot.
And when I boot up everything is weird. The drop shadow on all windows is green.
The Desktop isn't showing at all.
I can select applications from the locked menu. (Before I unlock) Like camera, mail etc.
Any thoughts on what might be wrong and how to fix?
Themes may require you to have a de-odexed rom. Is the rom you have odexed or de-odexed?
Either that, or you downloaded a bad file. Re-download and install again to see if it works.

I don't know what odexed means.
I have tried to install it again.
And maybe I should mention that I installed it through bootloader? Recovery or what it is called.
I saw that you were able to install other themes simply using the apk file. But this one required you to install it through recovery.
Currently I am able to take photos and call people. There's no home screen.
When I try to view messages I get an error.
Is there any way I can like reset it to before I installed the theme? I was told to back it up before installing the theme, which I didn't do. Any other way to fix this?
Check out this thread. It will help you get back to a stock rom, since you never made a backup.
I would strongly advise to to backup up everything before you start messing around. That way you have a backup to fall back on in case something like this issue happens.
When I first started messing around with root and custom roms, I never did a nandroid, and the phone was bootlooping. So I had to start over from scratch.

Tried Method 2 of debranding since it was the easiest one. Made no difference.
Trying Method 1 right now. Will report back with progress.
Just realized that I am not able to use Method 1 since it requires me to have USB Disk Drive mounted, which I can only do from recovery mode. And since I did not remove the image file it now constantly asks me if I want to update in HBOOT. So I can't really get past it.
If I update, it updates and reboots. If I click cancel it reboots.
What should I do?

I can not do anything in recovery mode, I.e not enable disk drive.
Just to clarify: There is no way of transferring ANY files from my PC to my phone that I am aware of at the moment.
You should take this into consideration before you come telling me to install stuff.

I said to run a RUU. It stands for Rom Utility Update. This is an executable program that you can run from the PC to your phone. It will take an image that was made specifically for your phone and flash over what you currently have, and once it's done and you power your phone on, it should look like you just took the phone out of the box. Download the RUU that matches your phone to the PC. Be sure that you pick the right one. Run the RUU on your PC. It will instruct you what to do as far as plugging your phone to the PC, when to turn it on/off, etc.
Once the program finishes, your phone should be reset, stocked, and back to normal.

Ok, I was able to fix so that I can moun the USB Mass Storage device in Revolutionary CWM(In HBOOT). But the setup can not find my phone.
Any tips on how to deal with this? Is there maybe a way of installing a zip from the sdcard?
Okay, so I got my phone semi running like before.
And I plugged it into my computer and choose HTC Sync.
My phone was picked up by the computer.
So I tried starting the setup. And it worked!
Great success!

Works perfect!
I am on ZV6, I used the one click method (post #2 in the op link). Then i used flashify and downloaded the recovery from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/orig-development/recovery-twrp-touch-recovery-2-8-2-0-t2966096 and made a backup. Haven't gotten a chance to try a custom rom, but just wanted to share my results!
Great work to everyone who found this method! Was super easy and took about 5 minutes.

Confirmed where, and by whom, exactly? I've done this root method a dozen or more times so far in the past two weeks on several devices and not had one instance of any issues, there are no unwanted malware apps installed on said devices, no screwy services running that shouldn't be there or exist at all, and so on.
Looking over the lg_root.sh script offers nothing that can be installed on the device OR on Windows so that's a wash there too.
You sure your machine wasn't just basically pooched to begin with 'cause there's really nothing in this method that can screw up a Windows installation...
Can anyone confirm that this works for ZV8?
Yes it works... There is a one click method that does the same thing without the adb jargon to type in terminal.

I spent half a day trying "one button root" to no avil. I came across this thread. I followed the instructions, but when i power my phone down, hold "vol up" and plug in usb, all i get is the battery icon indicating its charging.
If i hold down "vol down" and power, i get get the recovery mode, but cannot get to this download mode. searches make is seem like im the only one with this issue.
Sprint ls990, completely stock, except debugging mode check in developer options.

Long story short, hard bricked my phone to the point where it wasn't being recognize by windows and didn't turn on, found a way to restore it but not completely. It'll only boot into TWRP and there's no OS installed nor download mode. I've been up for the past day and a half trying to see what I can do, if anyone knows of a way I could manually flash recovery mode back with TWRP then I could flash back to stock. Or if there's another way that I can do this. Please I'm running out of options and I dunno what to do.

More info might be useful i.e. what did you do to cause the brick originally? How did you get twrp installed? What happens you flash a rom with twrp does it give you an error or what?
Also, if I may point out, both JasmineROM 7.0 and 8.0 include all the important partitions including laf.img which is the Download mode, so if yours is indeed missing or corrupt, maybe flashing one of those would solve it. I think right now you have more choices available to fix it with TWRP left on there, then with putting the stock recovery on.

Ok so here's the jist of it. Was trying to downgrade from 46a to 10b. Couldn't get LG flash tool to come up "Ready", so I tried the terminal emulator method. Seemed to work until I rebooted. Now I get unsuccessful boot error with the LG screen. I don't have twrp as I hoped, only stock recovery. So I've tried for hours with many different methods to get the Flash tool to pick up my phone when its in Download mode. Tried disabling driver signature at boot, downloading different drivers, changing com port to com41.
Nothing
I am on Windows 8 and could get as far as the actual flashtool previously. Now I cant even get that far. Stayed up until 5am and have been back at it since 1.
Any help would be awesome!

So, I can get the my laptop to pick up the phone and show the port. Also says connected mpt device. I just cant get the flash tool to see it. Would it be safe to say that my phone is wiped and therefore does not currently have a "version" (46a ext) and would allow me to flash a kdz on the 2014 flash tool?
Trying to think outside the box seeing I've gotten no leads....

If by terminal emulator method you mean my thread about manually downgrading partitions, then yes, that's another effect of downgrading them, that you can then flash any KDZ you want.

Ok guys I finally got it to work! Ran the older 2014 flash tool. The trick I found to make my Asus i7 recognize my phone was a little strange. When i would let my phone boot up it would flash the led red and blue. Once I held the volume button up it would boot to a blank screen, but the phone was still on. This was the only time my laptop would download and install the correct drivers. From there i powered off, went into download mode and connected, then used the lg tool to flash the 10b kdz file.
All rooted and twrp'ed! Flashing 47a and I'm done!
Hopefully, sometime, somehow, this will help someone else with the same problem.
Thanks road warrior for the advice. Been a long 2 days...

Finally bought my V30+ unlocked the bootloader, went to flash boombox and it didnt have connection to my VZW apn. So I went back to twrp and wanted to install DOT so I Wiped System/data/cache/dalvik and installed it, installed my gapps too. Upon doing this my phone turned off at the end of the gapps install and is only booting into twrp. Strait into twrp, only twrp. I do not have a back up to use, does someone? Does it work that way? Idk what to do I cant flash anything, as soon as I try the phone reboots. I cant mount data either. holding the volume down button does nothing when starting the phone it only goes into TWRP. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME, I was so excited today when I got my new phone, and now im here panicking.... Ive tried everything I can, I wish I could get into fastboot :'(
Wanted to mention that I cannot mount /data or /storage
Through a process of power cycling aroud 10 times, the phone rebooted to the LG Logo then bootloader unlocked screen then logo. Got fastboot back, booted into twrp, was able to access stock image. Flashing now.

Its the US998, I really want to get BOOMBOX installed but for some reason could not connect to my apn (Verizon) when using this rom. Any idea why this would have happened?
Boom box isn't a Verizon specific rom.
Need to flash your modem files from your phone while it is working on stock ROM. Then edit APNs.

You're the man! I've tried everything else suggested for "unable to mount /data", this fixed it. I already tried formatting data to exfat then ext4, and power-cycling. Apparently twrp's "power off" button does not actually turn it off. After power cycling a few times with power button + volume down, my phone booted into a ROM I installed earlier.
