Can't Choose Stock MMS on NK1? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I'm running stock NK1 rooted with Xposed framework installed, and it's been running fine aside from phone calls still being silent receiving and making occasionally, but just recently I list the ability to send texts using the stock MMS apk. I tried to go into Settings/More Networks and change the default to the stock Messaging apk, but Titanium is the only option. Same thing with Settings/Default Applications, only Titanium is available. Installing other SMS apps works, but nothing I do will let me choose the stock messaging app. I've tried overwriting the original with a copy of the original, turning the app off then back on again, but no luck. Permissions are correct and everything looks fine, but it will not work. Anyone seen this before?

MMS size restriction error

i rooted a friends samsung vibrant last night and everything went perfectly. i installed this rom.
now, whenever anyone sends him a picture message, it says something about "a problem with resolution or size restriction."
i've searched xda and come up with people getting blurry mms messages and the fix is to install either the cm6 mms apk or one of a few available. searching on google, everyone has the problem with the iphone and their fix is a package available through cydia.
i've had him check his apn settings and they are the same as seen in post number 7 of this thread. i've had him try using handcent and chompsms instead of the default. i've had him ensure his mobile data is on. the problem still persists.
he can send picture messages just fine. he can receive normal texts just fine.
he really wanted an aosp rom. i stuck with 2.2 so the clockwork 2.5.1.2 backup/restore would work fine.
my questions are these:
should installing a new mms apk fix this issue? does he need different apn settings? should i install a different rom altogether? should i install a newer 2.3 rom? if so, how can i get clockwork 3 installed? (i couldn't find how to do that anywhere either).
sorry this post is so long. thanks for any help.
ended up using odin back to stock then rerooted and reflashed the rom. seems to be working now.

Auto-download MMS on CM9

I'm running the latest CM9 beta along with the APN Fix.
I'm able to send mms messages fine, but whenever I receive one (like an image text), it prompts me to download the image instead of doing it automatically. Furthermore, when I try to download the image in the stock messaging app, it doesn't work. I then installed GO SMS, which does allow me to download the image (most of the time), but I'm still prompted to download it instead of it downloading automatically. This happens on both wifi and 3G.
What I've tried (with reboots after changing settings):
I've double and triple checked the APN settings and have even restored my APNs to default and then re-entered them.
I've also tried playing with different APN settings than whats in the fix.
I've toggled the auto-retrieve setting in the stock messaging app on and off.
I tried installing the black-themed mms app.
I've cleared app data on the stock messaging app and GO SMS
I've attempted to fix permissions, wipe dalvik, and wipe cache
I checked the mms size limits inside GO SMS settings
All of the above was unsuccessful. Each mms I receive still prompts me to download the image. When I click download it doesn't always work in GO SMS and doesn't work at all in the stock messaging app.
At this point, I think I'm going to wait until Joker releases a new build and see if that magically fixes it. If not, I'll probably have to wipe and do a clean install. I did a wipe between the last alpha and first beta build but have just been wiping dalvik/cache between beta builds.
Anyone have any other ideas / suggestions?
Thanks!
Try just using the first APN and deleting the other 2. That's all I've done and I can send and receive mms just fine using the stock app.

Thanks for the response... Just tried deleting the 'Production' and 'Internet' APNs and only leaving the CDMA one (the first one) and then rebooting. I'm still able to send mms but again when I receive one, it prompts me to download instead of just displaying the image automatically in the messaging app.
I feel like it has to be either a problem connecting / downloading from the mms service or there's just some setting somewhere that's causing it to prompt me to download before retrieving.
I also tried setting the APN Type to 'MMS' instead of 'mms', which allows me to click a little blue dot next to the APN... tho I'm not sure what that does (makes it the default?). However, when I did that, I lost the ability to send MMS, so I set it back to 'mms'.
I wasn't able to fix this issue without doing a clean install (wipe / etc). I ended up flashing the latest CM9 build (3.1) on top of the 0.2 build and the issue persisted. I then did a clean install of 3.1 and the issue is resolved. Images received via mms now automatically appear in my messaging app without prompting me to download manually.

[Q] help with mms

I rooted my phone and accidentally deleted the stock mms.apk and i couldnt recieve any messages, i downloaded an upgraded version of the stock mms.apk and i can send and recieve regular sms messages but i cant send or recieve pictures, can anyone help please
I had similar problem after accidentally deleted the calendar.apk, I did try copy this from another device (exactly model and android version) but no success to make the widget work again (no events shown).
I do recommend to reinstall the entire ROM - stock or custom.
I agree with MagusWRM.
I agree with MagusWRM. Re-install the ROM and if it’s still acting up call your Wireless provider and have them check to see if everything is right on their end.

I download handcent and it works... I can't flash a new ROM because there is no software compatible with my phone and there are no drivers for it either

Unable to send SMS - CM11 M8

I installed this rom cm-11-20140925-NIGHTLY-n7100.zip on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100
In the beginning, I can send SMS, but after a few hours, I was unable to send SMS.
I checked all over Google with regards to this issue and it all points to me disabling the Voice+ in the Settings (Settings > More... > Voice+)
Problem is I don't have that option in the "More.." portion.
So I tried to disable via Settings > Apps > All > Voice+ > Force Stop, still doesn't work.
Rebooted, force stop Voice+, then tried again, still failing.
When I check the Phone Information in *#*#4636#*#*, SMSC is blank.
Badly need help on this one, as this is my first time doing this mod thing and now I'm stumped. Awesome mod, but buggy. I don't want to go back to the old Samsung mod.

Thanks, I tried doing other SMS apps like Go SMS, and it works with a turn around of changing the SMSC number on the app. But if I didn't do it, even the SMS apps don't work.
But is there a way to use the stock messaging without going back to the stock rom of this phone?
I've been doing a wipe of everything and reinstall of everything and still I can't send SMS. Baaaah!
Going to try and install the stock rom of Galaxy Note 2 for one last try. If it works, then I guess mod is not for me. :crying:

How I got TW Lollipop running on my Ringplus Note 3

My Note 3 is activated on the Sprint MVNO Ringplus, so I probably went through more trouble than most to get the leaked Lollipop build up and running. I figured I'd show what I did in case anyone else wanted to do the same as well. I believe SMS is currently not working. This isn't an issue for me because I use Google Voice as my primary number, so my texts go through data instead of traditional SMS.
It would probably be best to do a Profile and PRL update before you begin, as you won't have the option of doing them on the new ROM.
First I made a complete backup followed by a full wipe, and then I flashed g00h's tweaked odex lollipop ROM v.1.1 here.
Next I flashed the bluetooth/wifi fix found in this thread here. Make sure you download version 2 (the file that's 1.83MB).
Next I had to get mobile data working, so I used the APN backup & restore app from the Play store. I used the APN settings listed by jackal830 here. I copied the text, pasted it into an xml file, and placed that file in the APN backup & restore app's folder so that it could restore the Ringplus APN settings. Using the app, I first deleted the current APN settings, and I then restored from the newly created xml file.
The next problem was that my all of my wifi passwords would be forgotten everytime the phone would reboot. I did a quick search and found this post here. Following dajumper's suggestion, I edited the build.prop using Root Explorer, and changed the line from "ro.securestorage.support=true", to "ro.securestorage.support=false". This made my wifi passwords stick on reboot.
After doing all of that, everything is up and running great. I'm really enjoying Samsung's implementation of Lollipop. In order to get this working on Sprint instead of Ringplus, I'd imagine you'd only have to locate a Sprint APN file generated from the APN backup & restore app, and use that instead.
If anyone else has the same setup as me, and wants to give this try, enjoy!
Does your texting work? Seems to be the only thing missing when I've tried installing that rom?

It does not, but like I said, I use Google Voice as my primary number, so it's not an issue for me. I can still send text messages like normal through Google Voice because the messages travel over mobile data instead of SMS.
Aight guess I'll just wait a little more for that to get fixed i need that proper texting but thanks for the info
Which APN backup and restore app are you using? The one I used states it does not restore for anything over 4.0+. That because the OS does not allow for 3rd party apps to change APN.
Never mind figured it out. Will attempt on sprint. But looks like MMS will still be a problem.

I'm using the latest one from the play store. Hit menu, select disable ICS check, close the app and then reopen it. I don't believe it allows you to backup your APN settings on anything higher than 4.0, but it does allow you to restore them. That's why I manually placed my xml file in the folder where the app restores from.

Thanks...Next time I will read the entire writeup . It will allow you to backup and restore. Just had to move the APK to the /system/priv-app and modify the permissions.
How exactly do you edit the secure storage support to true?
