Hello everyone =)
I was just looking for some input from the phone community.
I am thinking about upgrading my phone since my 2yrs is up and I figured why not sell my HD2 to pay the cost?
This is my 3rd HD2 so i cant even get a new one through Asurion smh. I have had this one for two months. I have all the accessories, box, etc. And it has no scratches, cracks, etc. It also has a custom ROM (which i'd probably revert back to TMO before selling).
How much is too much for a used phone?
I was thinking $200. Is that too much or too little?
if you have the box and all you can get 300+ online but if its just the phone you could get 250 atleast. I'm selling mine as well because i just upgraded to a G2.
How do you like the G2? I think i'll try the HD7...
I have the box, charger, headphones, paper booklets, phone glove and all.
I most likely won't sell it online though probably locally. I just want to put out a good asking price on it b/c since technology advances so fast and new phones coming out all the time its always something better.
Also, does the software make a diff. in price? Should I consider that also?
You have all the necessary belongings so it will sale for a good price. Locally would be okay but you may often deal with people trying to get it for a cheaper price. I dont know how much your looking for but i would atleast look for $250-$275. you can try Craigslist but people will try to talk you down on the price. Ill have my G2 on wed, i tried out the Hd7 and the G2 in stores and i went with the G2, the Hd7 looks real nice though but i wanted a keyboard again. Software makes somewhat of a difference, i put Android on mine and the latest rom.
OH ok...I haven't tried playing with adding android on mines yet...I'm sure I'd def. be able to get a good amount for it if that were on there...
I haven't even thought about CL. I know for sure when I get a price i'm sticking to it even though my upgrade will only cost me about $175
if your upgrade price is $175, $200-$225 should be good since your not looking for much.
True. since i invested so much in this phone (300+130+130) i'd def. like to get what its worth in general. esp since its in new condition.
Thank you much for your responses =)
your welcome. let me know how you like the HD7.
No problem sure will =)
I welcome all other opinions as well
Maybe it's just me but I think 200 USD is too low for a good and versatile phone like HD2. Yes, there will always be better phone with better technology in the future but that doesn't devalue the HD2. People seem to think their phone has less value once there're new phones in the market that they release their phone for a very cheap price in order to get "some" money for the new one. In my opinion, the HD2 will still remain the best Winmo 6.5(.x) phone of all time (because there won't be any new WinMo6.5 phones released LOL). So unless you really need money to cover for your upgrade I'd suggest you keep it...
And yes I won't sell my beloved HD2 even if one day I decide to buy another OS phone. It will be with me until it dies on me
you actually have a valid point because when something happens to my phones i hate being reduced to a loner phone smh. i had that issue when i upgraded and sold my G1 to upgrade to hd2 only to have it out of stock when i needed a replacement

why dont we all go over and vote for the hd2 as the best phone for 2010 if it wins it will be the second year it wins. it started off in a slow start because the op added it a day after the poll began but with your help we can bring it to first.

Any opinion on the topic though???
But i'll go vote =)
I wouldn't normally ask this because this is a bad question, but I'm not sure what I should do. I'm enjoying the Optimus, but the small screen and the 600mhz is a bummer. So I'm asking for your advice. Would you recommend me wait for my contract to run out in a little more than a year and get a dual/whatever core out then or buy a Motorola Defy/Nexus S now.

I think it's a waste of money to replace anything that works well. The off contract pricing is enough for me to say NO.
If your retirement portfolio is looking good, then go for it. If you still live at home with mom and/or dad and can barely afford gas/bus fair then WTF are you thinking?
Save your money and take a vacation. That's what I'd do.
P.S. You realize you asked this question in an Android fanboy forum

I'm still a kid and I would be buying a used one. Defy for $200/Nexus for $300. I don't get your last part about this being an Android fanboy forum because all these phones are android, but you have a point with why replace someone thing that works. Still unsure though.

The defy is a definite no, a 800mhz isn't much of a bump from 600mhz, and you can easily oc to 750mhz on this phone.
The Nexus S is 1ghz which is more noticeable of a bump, and has much better build quality, but I don't see any reason to upgrade over it. Save your money.
Just wait til your contract ends, then new phones will come out.
if you are going to buy next phone then just wait for while coz lot's of new android and android version are coming
so wait...
Well. I got some money saved up and sold some stuff to my friend. So I decided to buy a used refurb phone to play around with MIUI/CM7.
Samsung Vibrant or T-MO MyTouch?
Figured I would start this early. Please post why you deserve an invite so those that have may share with you. Per forum rules please no exchanging of money or goods just sharing out of the kindness of your heart.
I deserve an invite because ...
I started this thread
Invites are needed again?

I genuinely want this phone and hope someone is kind enough to throw me an invite!! Paying it forward is an awesome (and rare) thing to do these days.
I have gone mad by using HOX+ and his 3 hours SOT battery and now I am looking for something new but cheaper. I wanted to buy Oneplus One but thetn I read that Oneplus Two is coming. I would be very happy if someone is good enough to share invite with me.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I deserve it because.....
I'm really cute
And I'm giving up on htc One X and htc one m8. They are great phones...but I want more!
Please, share the invite with me too....
Thank you in advance! - And now you are cutie too :good::fingers-crossed:
*sigh*
this again... I would like an invite but even more I'd like the ability to just order the phone... without this invite game. No one liked it the first time (well no one without invites) so why repeat it? I have to earn the right (lotto or sweepstakes style) to pay full price for a phone... really? Only thing that will help is if they have a crazy number of invites. I would actually prefer them wait until they have enough stock before selling the phone and just have a normal preorder then regular order system.... even if that means it wont come out for another 6 months.... think I'm crazy? You probably wont even earn an invite until then anyways.... I wasted so much time trying to get an invite for the oneplus one that eventually I lost interest all together.
If this phone is priced the same as others ($600-700) I think sales will suffer due to this invite system and there wont be a one plus 3. I hope I'm wrong... but doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is insane... Oneplus one launch was NOT a success but a failure... so repeating that is a bad idea (the metric to judge this is it was a desired phone by by the time everyone could get an invite they were so pissed that they didn't want it even when they had invites... I couldn't give my invites away). I'm hoping this time they will be more prepared and send out 200,000 invites a day at LEAST.
Sorry had to be said
*drops mic*
From a buyer point of a view the invite system is as annoying as it can be, but from their POV it was a success.
They did not antecipate or have the resources to meet the demand without cutting it with the invites.
They also do not spend money on marketing so the invite system is free publicity, hey arent we doing it right now?
Im looking for a replacement for my N5 so maybe the OPT might be it, we'll see when the specs are out.
I'd like an invite because I'm curious about Oneplus phones. While I won't just go get the One because the 2 is right around the corner, I'd like to give it a try. I've been forever stuck on brand name phones, changing phones out every year, I'd like a phone that has a great price point.

I think the price was what made them successful not the invite system. The big thing that hit the media was a top of the line phone with midrange price. The invite system brought frustration and the same media outlets that praised them at first turned against them. Now their name is out and they do not need to play with invites... Bringing that back would be a mistake. Maybe as a pre-release - get your hands on the device before launch thing but other than that I see it as a bad idea. If they just release normal they will probably win the market. If they keep playing games it will be their down fall. Yes, I agree from their POV they may think it was a success but it brought frustration. I do know they did not have a choice but this year they do, if they anticipate high demand put off the launch until they can fill most orders within the first or second month. If people know a decent ETA of when they can have the phone in their hand it will restore faith in their buyers. Problem solved. ☺

My OPO was just stolen yesterday, have had to go back to using my old S2..
Cant wait for the OP-2.. but of course wait for the dreaded invite.. hope to get one in the first batch
Australia shipping maybe?
An invite and local Australian shipping would be great. Don't like having to give other people money just to get phone into Australia when they could just list it as an option.
I deserve an invite because my dad is still using a laggy Nokia c7.
I'm looking forward to getting one too! If someone ever got one, I'm already in the line ahah
Give me an invite, or don't, doesn't really matter to me. It would just be nice to have a phone that isn't locked down tighter than Guantanamo (current Verizon S5 user).
I would love an invite as I'm currently running an HTC One M7 with the horrid pink/purple camera issue. I don't have a spare phone and use it for work so I couldn't deal with sending it in for warranty repairs, and I'm waiting until August before my contract is up with AT&T to get a new phone without paying full price. Either way, all of the current options this time around just don't entice me, but being able to get a flagship-level phone out of contract for (assuming) not $600+ would be great.
As an upcoming university student this fall, budgets and money is very slim for me. It sucks because my hobby and passion of having the best devices is very expensive. I love my Nexus 4 because it provides great experience and was very affordable, and the One Plus Two will continue that for me. Would LOVE an invite Thank you !
hi, I would like to receive an invite because I'm fed up with these brads that are selling in my country. you could only buy samsung, HTC, LG, Apple,... no other brads. Can you please send me an invite?
thank you.
I have an iPhone 5 and want to give a chance to the android system.

The support pages back alive again i guess this is really good news, and i think that we will receive Oreo finally...
Oh nice! Yes I believe we might actually get Official Oreo haha the latest news says that US has officially lifted the ban off ZTE permanently, and fully, so they can go back to normal and do Android updates again
This is awesome news indeed. Here's hoping.
I am not sure if they are required to be certified before releasing the update though. Keep an eye on this link too

There's no money in the Axon 7. Paying people to update this phone is like throwing money out the window.
Get your heads out of your butts.
PS.: It was released in 2016.
PS2.: There are more important things for ZTE than a phone that didn't sell so well and that less than 100 people care about it.
Maybe yes we get it,after tons of months. But i believe the axon 7 is dead,i am also planning to sell it

Just let the people hope. The ban is lifted, so of course people get their hopes up again since oreo was announced and almost finished developing before the ban happened.

Couldn't disagree more. The Axon 7 was definitely good enough to create some buzz. If they want to build on this little success, they should do everything possible to make their customers happy and give them the promised Oreo update. If they don't, they have to start all over with close to none loyal following left.

The funny thing is how many of us promoted the Axon 7 once we gave it a shot and had the surprise of how great it was. ZTE listened to its customers input. Especially with the Axon line. My modest (possibly desperate) hope is that the Axon 9 was ready for market already prior to the ban. If ZTE has any sense, they will get the Axon 9 out sooner than later while those of us that will latch on and promote it, use it, and love it are still hopeful. I realize many have already moved on to OP6, etc.
i am still holding out. someone had said at one point ZTE would need to rebuild confidence first, but in my opinion, the perfect way is to release the axon 9 alongside pixel 3/XL and Note 9 and before one plus 6t. There is a slot just for that phone. Budget, but not cheap, but cheaper than OP6.
if they focus on their budget phones and let the budget flagship Axon line fall further behind, they have no more runway with enthusiasts. I am glad they are still doing warranty repairs and that they are playing ball with the ban lifting requirements, but at this point, we are long overdue for new hardware. Im also hoping they keep bands for Verizon, even though it will never be certified by big red. Just keeps options open. and gives an advantage over One Plus.
Is it just me, or I don't see USA on the first drop down menu of countries which ZTE offers support?

Well, a lot of money was spent already on developing the update before the ban. They announced it in December if I recall correctly. And from what we could see in the leaked beta, it was almost done.
So I think that it does not make sense to cancel the update when it's 90% over.
Also, we need to remember that ZTE is a government owned company of one of the world's economic super powers Money is not really a big deal for them I would imagine. The fines will probably be supported by the Chinese government and ZTE will be just fine.
Oh nice. I just got this phone 2 days. Got it because its Daydream compatible for a great price. So it would be even better to get an OS update.. but not even necessary.
I have owned lg g4 and im still actually, the funy thing is not a single update not even one scurity update since i bought it (september 2016) . LG promized Nougat though..
I gave LG another chance with LG G6 purshased last march i was surprised to find a flagship still runing on nougat while other start reciving android p beta..
I have recived a majore 20a and minore 20b update since then witch is good, but apparently it is still not smooth ( korea first and then region x and then region y and then model xy...etc witch takes ages to reach some countries. and some region/ model are completely ignored..?
The bottom line is LG produce brilliant phones but if software support is not provided at least to flagships for 2 years customers will runaway and LG will lose money as they did the recent years and this year (Lg mobile)
I have read this today about oneplus:
https://www.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3-oneplus-3t-android-p-update/
Without forgeting nokia and others witch Lg must take exemple if it dosnt want to sink.

He answered like this because this matter has been discussed a lot already, many people, like me, have been disappointed, but i didn't only come here to complain, i also complained to them for months on twitter and via E-Mails, and i won't buy an LG devices ever again, moreover all the people around me will know my experience and i'll try to keep them fro buying LG phones.
These are all things that have (or may have) real effects on LG, complain here is useless i'm afraid, if you don't believe just check all the threads that have been created on the Oreo update, or the updates in general since last summer where all begun, and if you bought a G6 after last summer, well, you should have known how LG behaves on software updates and shouldn't have bought it.
Have a nice day, meanwhile i'll wait to throw this ****ty G6 away to buy a sparkly red OnePlus 6

It doesn't matter if it's low-priced device or a flagship - both of these segments should be treated equally. Remember that Nokia 2 or Nokia 3 are not very powerful, they may be treated as low-priced ones but ALL HMD-Nokia devices are getting P. I tried to defend LG to the very last moments but right now I know that G6 is my last LG phone ever. I will be looking for a company which cares for their products instead of just releasing them, I will wait a little bit for Gorilla Glass 6, newer processor, some other inventions and then buy something.

Just be mindful that this isn't the first time we've seen someone complain about how lousy of a company LG is. We're all on the same boat here, and we all suffer equally from LG's mediocrity
