What I want to do is flash a 4.16 firmware to run Android Revolution Lollipop, is it possible without changing radio bands?
Which firmware would do?

You can always flash the radio of your choice manually after you install the entire firmware package.
Yes, it is possible to remove the radio from the firmware package (which should leave your current radio intact). But personally, I don't like to mess with firmware packages unless you really know what you are doing. Its one of the few ways to actually brick the phone.
Also if you are thinking about using a KitKat radio (such as the AT&T specific radio deployed with 4.4.4), with a Lollipop ROM, they might not play well together.
You might consider flashing the firmware package included on the following thread. Its the Dev Edition LP firmware, which is intended for use on AT&T's network (assuming that is your case). For that matter, if you are looking for a LP ROM on the AT&T network, you might consider the ROM itself. Some folks have had various issues running "Euro" based ROMs on AT&T's network.

thx for the reply, bro!
i won't be running it on at&t's network, i'm located in brazil, what i actually need is LTE 2600 (B7).
and from what i gather, i gotta go with either Euro WWE 401, Asia WWE 707 or unlocked, which are the ones that work in that frequency.
so, 401 it is.
i think i got the hang of it now, there were too many variables to understand at first
cheers.

[Q] Which firmware to load, suggestions?

Hello XDA Devs,
Would like to know what is the best version of firmware to install? Was trying to figure out why the signal strength is worse after going to ARHD 41.
Phone Info:
ARHD 41 - Android 4.4 (KitKat) - latest official HTC One 4.06.1540.3 (WWE) firmware (4x.x series)

It seems a firmware update is in order. The question is:
Should I update to this firmware version, since ARHD 41 is based on that firmware and just change the CID? (latest) 4.4 KITKAT DEVELOPER EDITION OTA 4.06.1540.3 Custom Firmware (Stock Boot.img & Stock Recovery removed), if yes, how to I properly change the CID, instructions?
or
Should I follow what the thread suggested flash 1st, ATT 4.2.2 OTA 1.26.502.15 Firmware (HBOOT, Recovery, & Boot.img are removed); 2nd, (Credit to @dark2099 for providing the OTApkg.zip)(latest) ATT 4.3 Official OTA 3.17.502.3 Firmware/Not From The RUU (Boot.img & Recovery.img removed); and wait for ATT 4.4 firmware to come out.
or
Any suggestion/options?
Any other things I should look out for or prepare before the firmware update?
Thanks again for all the great help having this awesome forum and all the awesome devs/community. :good:

Thx for the suggestion. Since, I already have custom rom installed, flashing the firmware now, will it change anything? Or do I have to re-flash the rom again? Really don't want to redo all the data inside. lol :silly:
From what I was reading on the forum, I shouldn't have to worry about that, right?

Hotspot problem

I have bought htc m8 at&t unlocked not rooted from us, currently I am in India I there any way to hotspot to work???
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app
You'll need to mod the phone to make it work. There are various ways to do this. But probably the most straight-forward:
Unlock the bootloader, custom recovery, and flash an "international" (non-AT&T) based custom ROM and hotspot will work.
You may need to update firmware (RUU is the easiest way) in order to run current custom ROMs.
You'll also get rid of the annoying AT&T branding and bloatware.
But the international version has the HTC Sense? @redpoint73

You can pick whatever "international" based ROM you want, Sense, GPE, AOSP, etc.. If you want Sense, pick a Sense based international ROM.

None of them, and all of them at the same time.
I don't recommend "best" ROMs. Its a very individual choice dependent on your personal usage patterns, preferences, etc. You would have as much luck asking me to recommend you a favorite color.
More important is your current firmware (hboot, radio, etc.). Was the phone stock Lollipop when you received it? List your getvar data, if you can (delete IMEI and serial number, as these are personal data).

Your firmware is up to date as far as Lollipop (main version 4.28.502.1). There is an RUU update (4.28.502.2) which included the Stagefright fix, but some folks have been having problems installing custom recovery after that update (at least on the Euro "international" M8), so you might hold off on the update.
You are free to unlock the bootloader via HTCDev.com, install TWRP custom recovery, then flash most (non-ATT based, and no Sprint or Verizon) Lollipop based ROM to get hotspot working again (and additionally, get rid of the annoying ATT bloat and branding). At least, that is what I would recommend.

This is not an AT&T version M8.
Product ID m8_whl is the Sprint version, which is the CDMA version M8. Which also supports GSM, but the CDMA supportis the key difference. The CDMA versions (Sprint & Verizon) have different partitioning. You can not just change the CID, MID and flash other version's (AT&T, international, Developer Edition, etc.) firmware to a CDMA version M8. The result is radio brick, which is what you are experiencing.
You can try to change back to Sprint CID, then flash the correct Marshmallow Sprint RUU:
http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-sprint/news/
Some folks have had success fixing the radio brick by flashing the proper (Sprint) RUU. But if after RUU, the radio still doesn't function properly, the damage is permanent.
Thank you very much for answering.
I bought this phone used . the back of the team logo appears at & t , so I installed versions for that carrier . I'll try installing by ruu sprint.

thanks a lot

thank you very much friend, you solved the problem.

So its working properly now, reading your SIM and connecting to your provider's cellular network?
if I can now call , use the internet . You should only put the firmware sprint. Greetings.

Newbie help: Marshmallow update

Please forgive newbie ignorance. I rooted my AT&T HTC One M8 about a year ago with very little knowledge and the assistance of a "dummies" guide so I could run Titanium backup. In that time with no OTA updates, my phone's become glitchy and I want to get it to a new Marshmallow base. I don't really care if it's a custom ROM or the recent stock ATT update, just want to get everything up to date and stable.
I have TWRP and SuperSU installed. My CID is stock. I am S-ON and the phone is unlocked.
What is the easiest way for me to get my phone up to date?
Need more info. Do fastboot getvar all, and post the output (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).
Also, do you actually use AT&T as your cellular provider, or no?
Without knowing more, I'd say that flashing a custom ROM is probably the easiest way to get to MM. But I can't say for sure whether you are configured with the right firmware to run the current ROMs or not, without the info requested above.

1 .If you want to bring the phone back to stock you will have to relock bootloader and run this ruu http://androidruu.com/getdownload.p...40.45.C33065.00_F_release_426617_signed_2.exe then try ota updates that should bring you to stock att marshmallow but keep in mind it's not that easy to root when you are on marshamallow but it's not terrible.
2. If you want custom rooted marshamallow roms just head to HTC One m8 Android development , there are plenty of roms there. Good luck.

Rooting MM is easy, and same basic process as LP: unlock bootloader again, flash TWRP, (highly recommended to make a TWRP backup), then flash SuperSU. Only difference, is that you need to make sure to use proper version TWRP (3.0.x) and SuperSU 2.65.
In particular, using an old (not updated for MM) version of SuperSU will cause a bootloop or no boot. But its basic good practice to always check and use the proper recovery version and SuperSU version any time you root.

No, s-off is only needed to make it say LOCKED for folks that want warranty service.
To make it say RELOCKED (which is acceptable for RUU) is a single fastboot command (and s-on is fine):
fastboot oem lock
---------- Post added at 09:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:11 AM ----------
The fact you mention relocking the bootloader, means its currently unlocked. And to me implies you currently have TWRP installed (if so, what version?).
If that is the case, and a relatively updated TWRP version, it would be a simple matter to put a MM custom ROM on the phone or SD card, and flash it in TWRP.
MM ROMs will run fine on the current setup. Its really your choice whether you want to flash a MM custom ROM, or return to stock by RUU and OTA to MM. But if you want less steps, custom ROM is probably the way to go.
My TWRP version is 2.8.6.1.
I'd be fine with a Custom Rom. I have no idea which ones are stable and support my hardware, though.
All marshamallow roms from one m8 Android development will work fine on your current device . Just browse and read.

TWRP version is probably fine, but best to update to the current version, 3.0 (flash TWRP by fastboot). Required files and instructions here: https://twrp.me/devices/htconem8gsm.html
Any of the ROMs intended for the AT&T M8 or the "international" version will work. Any of the Sense ROMs should be stable. "Stable" being a subjective term, but they should all be fine as daily drivers. Its more of matter of what features you want, and that is the fun bit about custom ROMs, so its really your choice!

Help me please, i want to go back to stock from maximudhd 12.0.0

Hello everyone, first of all, I have the HTC One M8 At&t (cw__001 att) and I had the original rom, but was lollipop, the problem is, the last week I flashed the google play edition with the .zip and tutorial here in XDA forums, but I didn't liked, so, I wanted to go back to the sense original, but I made a mistake and I didn't any backup or nothing like that, and late i learned, that it would be difficult to go from the gpe to sense, so, I read so much in forums and I get first the viperonem8 here, I installed and everything was OK, but the network didn't want to work, and then I installed the maximushd 12.0.0 (wich i have now) version, but I have serious problems with that ROM, I have so much crashes and lag, and my phone is going slowly so many times, and I have poor network 4g connection, obviously I have the twrp 3.0 installed, and the bootloeader unlocked,
Please help me, I want to go back to the original sense again, but i dont know how, the ruu from the page didnt work for me, I seriously need to go back to my old os sense, I don't care if will lollipop again, just, want the original sense designed and maked for at&t m8 stable and without problems again. Please help me!

The "coversion" process to go back to Sense from GPE only applies if you did a "full conversion" to GPE using the RUU.
You didn't do that, you just flashed the GPE ROM zip. So you just go back to Sense by flashing a Sense ROM.
One rule to live by, is always make a TWRP backup before flashing any ROM. In case you decide to revert, or need to due to the ROM install failing (or other issues) a backup makes it easy to restore your previous ROM.

Hard to help, if you don't give specifics. What RUU did you try, and from where? What happened when you tried to RUU, any specific error messages (and if so, what were they)?
Links to RUUs, and the requirements to run them are on my Index thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2751432
But basically, if s-on, you need to relock the bootloader to RUU. And you can't "downgrade" by RUU (such as flashing the LP RUU if on MM firmware).
Another alternative, is to flash the custom ROM here. Its based on AT&T stock LP ROM, but debloated.
