I have a nexus 5 running the "devel" version of Ubuntu Touch. I need to manually change the apn since I am on a grandfathered plan and don't have access to the one it is automatically allocating. When I get into the phone settings the APN area is greyed out with no way to change it.
You can only change it if you enable mobile data. If that switch is set to "off", the APN list item is greyed out.

Hello,
My network operator uses configuration message to let you use Mobile Data
so i sent a message to 250 with the word "set" as i always did on the Samsung Stock Rom
but with the CM10, I didn't receive anything
and in the message app on the samsung stock rom when i click the menu button, there was an option for managing Configuration Messages
but that's seems to be missing on CM10
{Q} Is CM10 able to use Configuration message somehow or what ?!
The point of the configuration messages is so that you can install the APN settings for the particular carrier you're on. CM10 will automatically install the APN settings for your carrier (unless you're on a ridiculously obscure carrier) so there's no need for the configuration messages.
Are you getting a data connection? If you are, a then all good. If not, check your APN settings and see what's happening there.

No, I don't get any connection without that configuration message
and Where is that APN settings ?!
Settings then more settings then mobile network then access point
Andrew have you seen where the default CM APN's don't cover a given carrier? I've been on a pretty obscure carrier with custom ROM and still been fine...

Iv never had problem with apns till I stuck a different Sim in a stock Rom.
I use my DNA primarily on VZW but recently added a TMobile SIM card to my international travel kit. I found out the DNA is SIM unlocked so I jammed it in, set the APN settings and all was dandy. Phone worked very well.
Problem is, NOW I go back to the VZW SIM and the Verizon APN settings will not stick. I input the settings and save but then it retains the TMo settings.
I have signal bar but it won't get to internet or send/receive MMS. no 4G icon in the bar.
Anyone have experience with this?
Is there an app that allows me to easily switch between multiple APNs? It appears only one is saved at a time.
Does anyone else use multiple SIMs on any android devices and have suggestions on how to maintain this?
Stock Rooted with S-Off.
Steps taken:
Reboot, Clear Dalvic, Clear Cache
in APN click on 'Reset to default', the VZWINTERNET shows until I exit the screen, when I return it's TMobile settings
BTW: I have already tried suggestions here and it never saves. It will not add another APN. As soon as I go out and back in the new APN is gone.

using the latest version of the app, copied everything from the default (non-editable) APN to a new one just so I can change the APN to IPv4. made sure this new APN was selected and then... no connection to the Internet as the 4G LTE icon disappears. If I change the APN to IPv4/IPv6 then the 4G LTE icon appears again. Regardless when I connect my laptop to the app's SSID, Windows tells me there's no Internet connectivity. Any suggestions on what I might be missing?
You should be able to keep it on the default setting there.
What apn are you using
have 2 problems with my LG G3 mobile network settings:
- whenever i install a ROM it automatically sets a mobile network APN with some preconfigured settings which im guessing it gets from my provider. i can set and create new APN but i wanna know how to delete the default one? there is no option to modify or delete the default one.
-if the location im in has 4G then when i set my Network Mode to GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto then all works ok but as soon as 4G signal changes to 3G or less the settings automatically reverts to GSM/WCDMA auto. how can i prevent the seetings to change automatically?
thanks in advance for any help.

The settings are gotten from a file in the roms. The rom doesnt download them from your carrier. The ability to delete them is also set up when the rom is made. So talk to the rom dev.

thanks for your reply.
im using the stock rom right now. whats the folder path that these settings usually reside in?
So I've been searching around and haven't been able to find an answer yet, that actually works. I'm using my G3 on Sprint for a bit while my G6 gets fixed, and it's on rooted ZVC. I apparently live in a Sprint dead zone, so WiFi calling is a must, but MMS doesn't work over WiFi with the default APN setting for MMSC. If I use an app like Textra, I can force the correct URL, but I have been unable to change/add the correct APN to the system in order to use Android Messaging, for example. I can get to the APN settings screen, but no options to add or edit. ##DATA# lets me change the setting for the stock messaging app only. Any suggestions?
