As the title states. I don't have a PC to update to the latest modem through ODIN, so I'm just wondering if the new modem is flashable through TWRP.
Still on NC5

I have D/L a few stock recovery .img files with different file sizes.
Q: Are all TMO stock recovery images same?
I have 4.3 sense 5.0 latest firmware and would like the kitkat OTA.
Q: What stock recovery .img do I need to flash and where may I get it?
Thanks.
Oh this is for USA country code..NEW YORK.
I am rooted using the TWRP recovery.. latest 3.3
Thanks.
Whenever I have had need to swap back over to the stock recovery (such as the KK upgrade, which I'm just getting finished up right now) I've always used the stock recovery image from the zip file that Behold_this puts together in his thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2355814
I think it's been updated now to include the KK firmware, so you may or may not want to download the previous version. If you are curious, the size of the recovery.img that I have is 11.6MB (12,245,248 bytes).
This is a dumb question but searching threads provided me with ten different ways and I wasn't sure which one to pick.
I'm currently on NE6 and have TWRP Recovery and Root. I want to upgrade to NG4 via PC Odin. How should I accomplish this and maintain root and TWRP Recovery?
Download the NG4 firmware & modem from here. Flash them both via Odin. It's good practice to do a battery pull before Odin flashing for 30 seconds, then booting into download mode. It may take a few flashes to get the bootloader to stick. Confirm bootloader after flashing by booting into your current ROM and checking 'About Device' under settings. The Baseband version should read ~NG4. If it doesn't, repeat the process (including the battery pull) until it sticks. Do a full wipe then flash Stock Root Flashable Version of G900TUVU1ANG4 (or any other NG4 variant) in TWRP.
Hi!
As the title says, where can i find the latest official/stock (or close to stock) Samsung ROM in a recovery zip format?
I have a carrier independent I9300 (it's a second hand phone, don't know if it was or wasn't sim locked originally), with latest CM11 nightly at the moment with TWRP recovery, but i want to test the speed and functionality of the stock ROM.
I'm not too familiar with ODIN or KIES, that's why i need in "zip via recovery" format.
If flash via recovery, do i have to mind about the EFS partition?
Sorry for the noob questions, but i new in the S3 scene
@pappt: flashing with Odin is no witchery: go to the download section of sammobile.com to find your firmware and follow the short instruction, given there.
Or take NCS ROM instead: heavily debloated newest firmware, shows what Touchwiz is able to.
Note 3 Running Android 5.01 from Sprint.
I've had both OC5 and OH! (I think is the new one from August)
Both Firmware I try to install CWM or TW via ODIN and its unsuccessful. When I try to get into recovery it reverts to some errors while in Downloading.
Most recent attempt I re-installed stock firmware OC5. Ran OTA upgrade to newest firmware. Used CF to root and again ODIN to install CWM. Still same thing.
What am I missing here?
FYI if I use ROM Manager to install CWM it says its successful but can't book into recovery. It will just loop the bootloader so I have to use Odin to reinstall the firmware.
What ver. Of Oden you using?
Originally I used 3.07 but aftrer coming across this issue I've wiped and reinstalled the firmware and tried again using 1.85. Both versions had no luck.
Try Oden 3.10
Missing root. Try to reroot via odin, and try twrp via odin. If no go...put stock via odin and select nand erase. You may get stuxk on sprint logo when boots, go into recovery and do wipe. The reboot stock will load. Then root via odin, and install twrp or cwm via odin. This fixes all my problems...even when i thought phone was dying
Hello,
I want to switch from CWM to TWRP.
The problem is, that when I flashed CWM, my android was 4.1.2 version, and so was the recovery.
I've already flashed newer rom than 4.1.2, and now I want to switch to TWRP.
My concern is: Now that I downloaded the latest TWRP and I use Nandroid, it prompts me that the TWRP .img file is built for 4.1.2 android, so can I still flash the TWRP although I have higher version than 4.1.2?
*Also, is Nandroid a working way to switch between recoveries? I've never done that before, and I just came across a thread that suggests using Nandroid to flash new reocvery over the existing one.
Thanks!
TWRP or CWM Recoveries will work in all android versions. Just download twrp-2.8.6.1-i9300.tar flash it via odin. Here is the link - https://dl.twrp.me/i9300/
