not currently possible.
And security isnt needed in android, the only areas are flaws are flashing but every device suffers this area.

But then incase someone forgets the password to Unlock the phone then the phone is lost forever. It's not practical to lock the phone from flashing as it's the way to restore if something goes wrong.

Android 5.1 kind off solves the problem. When you reset the device and try to activate it it will ask for the previous Google account details it's kind off like how how apple does it.
But Sony and Samsung devices that has programs like flash tool and Odin leaked it CA be bypassed AFAIK. But on other devuces with locked bootloader it's almost impossible to reset.

Most folks here break their phones and reflash a lot more often than that!
lol!
I make it a thing to power off and reboot atleast once every 2 weeks, so I won't ever have some ungodly large number like that.
But when I first got it I went about that long before I turned it off the first time.
Couldn't resist posting this for some odd reason.

That feeling you get when you have a 500+ uptime then do a reboot and the phone runs ridiculously fast. That feel
Yeah, I just checked mine... ~260 hours... rebooted.
No screenshot app, but I'm up to. 844 hours, waiting on ics to reboot. Trying to go as long as I can.

Hey am I the only computer nerd on here?
Why are you guys not hiding your phones mac addresses? Do you not know what cyber crime is and how easy it is to know where you are located by your mac I.D. I could spoof your macs and other info from your phone call in threats to people, and you would get the blame you guys have to hide that stuff!!! Just wanted to let you know! At least cheekrox knows!!!

Not sure if my Hotspot was meant to be blocked, but it's still working. I guess T-Mobile is slowly learning about those APN settings, or something.
Your take?
Yeah I called T-Mobile yesterday and was talking about the 5gb data with tether. They said that the engineers are working on blocking the loop holes that allow tether.

They are closing in on this loop hole, a lot of users have gotten theirs blocked and even with this it's still not working anymore.

You're probably not one of those that eat up a lot of data via tethering, from what I've been reading it's the ones that use tethering a lot for stuff like pc's, movies and gaming are the ones they started shutting down on.

My S3 yesterday died on me. It was on charge over night and in the morning when I woke up it was turned off and just refused to turn back on again.
I'm taking it back to the shop today but before I do I was wondering if there was any way of wiping the data off it before handing it over? I just don't fancy the thought of some random guy having access to all my files and photos. Not that there is anything bad on there

This happened to me once and it turned out to be the battery and not the phone. If you have a friend who happens to have an S3 as well, may want to try and swap the battery out with them and see if that makes a difference. If not, then service center and warranty are your only option.

Already tried that in the shop but it didn't work. I'm going back today to hand it in as their systems were down yesterday so couldn't book my phone in
I think you don´t need to be concerned about that, it happens to me with S2 and that was the board that burned and possibly even samsung will be able to read the data. And normaly they don´t care about that they just simply will replace your board and everything will be fine again.

I got my brand new s5 two weeks ago. Fingerprint scanner was working fine until now. I can't unlock my screen using fingerprint scanner anymore. It doesn't recognize my fingerprints. Also I can't change my fingerprint because it says my alternative password is wrong. And when I try to change my alternative password, I get this message on the screenshot.
Anybody else with this problem? Only fix I found was factory reseting. But I don't wanna do that every time I wanna fix this bug. Will this be updated soon? This is so frustrating. A flagship phone like this shouldn't have these type of critical bugs.

Is your S5 rooted? Running Custom Rom?
If not, is your fingerprint scanner covered by something? Dirt, Sweat, maybe plastic from a case your using?

To be honest that is useless and more and more apps are preventing it's use.
You got the wrong phone for something like that. This device is meant to be super secure, which means you use it the way it is.

That really depends on the app. As apps have issues when installed on the sdcard most apps don't allow it anymore. With root you can force it but then you lose support if something goes wrong.
