No OS & NANDroid backup, only CWM. Can it still be fixed? - Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro

My external SD, where all my backups were was accidentally formatted. Everything was wiped out. The worst thing is my phone's internal memory, where Android OS is has also been formatted. So, there's only CWM, and a bootloop.
Is there a way to get around this and install stock OS?

Yup!

[Q] Updated to Bionix and will not boot

Hello,
My camera was not working so I backup my Bionix rom, my apps with titanium, etc. I did a new install of Bionix and then updated the OverStock v1.3 kernel using recovery screen. My phone will not boot up. I think I should have updated the kernel through an app that does that, so I messed up.
I am unable to go into recovery. I am able to get to download mode. I am downloading the tool box for vibrant along with the bionix rom. I have never used the vibrant tool box, but my questions:
1. Can use vibrant tool box under download mode and install a new copy of bionix without loosing info of the internal memory card?
2. If I use Oding3_V1.0 and install Eugene_2e_jk2 (like I originally did a long time ago), would I loose the info in the internal memory card?
3. Is there another, easier way to get bionix install and not loose my internal memory card?
I would appreciate any help. I am downloading both programs and it is tacking a while, so any help would help a lot while I wait.
whatever you do it shouldnt wipe your internal sdcard....but i do suggest to just odin back to stock
thanks button if i helped

Thanks a lot! That is a good to know. I was worried I would loose all the info in the internal card.
Do you know if there is a newer version of the eugene with root? Or what would you recommend as the latest stock with root for odin?
Thanks again!
this one has never failed and is the easiest to root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1047087
I see it says ** Re-partition is checked now in ODIN - THIS IS APPROPRIATE!! **
I just want to make sure that if check this, my insternal sdcard, that is part of the phone memory, wont be formatted, correct?
Sorry for the questions, but I don't want it to go wrong!
yes it wont be formatted ...the only thing it format is the system file

Internal SDcard empty and external SD not working

Hey guys,
I totally messed my device trying to flash a new ROM :crying:
I put the zip files on the external SDcard, booted on CWM 4.0.1.4 and select "install zip from SDCARD" but i wasn't able to see my files, even trying this with 2 different cards.
So I played with CWM but somehow i deleted all the files in the internal memory too :crying::crying::crying:
Actually I have download mode and ODIN working: am I still able to unbrick my device?
What's the best way?
Anyone?
I am without mobile since 3 days now, i just need to know if I have to buy a new one
Flash a stock rom in Odin. Get one from Samfirmware or AndroidFirmwares.net; which one ? Take your pick. Doesn't really matter if you're going back to a custom rom or restoring a backup when you've fixed it.
Then you can re-root your phone & restore a backup (if you have one) or flash whatever rom you want to use.
Thank you so much Mistah, it's working now, you really made my day!!! :victory:
I owe you a SGS2 (briked) haha
Good man You're welcome.

[Q] I8552 Samsung Grand Quattro goes straight in CWM Recovery, after a fail backup

Hey, this is the first time I'm posting a problem here. I have a Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro (I8552). I rooted my phone yesterday via cwm recovery, and then made a backup using ROM Manager. It rebooted my phone directly into a backup page where it started backing it up, but my internal memory wasn't big enough so it failed and since then I haven't been able to boot my phone up... When I try to turn it on it goes straight into CWM Recovery page, and when I click "reboot system now" it turns off the screen and then reboots it again into CWM Recovery...
Then, since I couldn't access the apps (as the phone won't start), I made another backup through CWM Recovery, but this time in my external SD Card which had about 6 gb free space. So it made and completed the backup without any problems. But when I restore it from my ext SD Card it restores the system and stuff but then when it comes to data it shows the message
Error while restoring /data!
Click to collapse
. Every time.
And so I tried
wipe data/factory reset
Click to collapse
it does it, and completes the process, but still it won't boot up, neither by
reboot system now
Click to collapse
nor by removing battery and trying to restart.
Mind you, I didn't flash any new ROMs, it was still running my stock ROM when this happened...
So to sum up the things I've tried
1. Reboot system now
2. Backup in extSD Card (which worked) and restore from the same (which didn't work)
3. Wipe data/factory reset
Also one more thing, before any of this mess was made, right after I rooted my phone, I made a backup of all apps through the app called
Titanium Backup root
Click to collapse
.
Is there any way I can get out of this mess? And maybe make my phone accessible again.
And if somehow by sheer stroke of luck and your expertise, if I do get out of this mess, is there any way to root my phone again and recover the apps or appdata from the already made CWM backup? or the Titanium Backup I made (or is it gonna be gone because of the factory reset?).
Thank you in advance for any help or try you might

Yeah, but then will I be able to restore from the same backup (cwm) that's causing problems now, or will it not work even then?
And what about the backup I made with the Titanium Backup app, will I be able to retrieve app data from there?
Because the very reason I was backing it all up was to protect the app data, and it's pretty important. So is it possible to save it after stock flashing?
The stock recovery flasher will help u get out of that loop. Check the link posted above.

Thank you so much... the link worked like a charm. I flashed it through extSD card and it loaded and on clicking reboot it booted the phone right up. I had to go through the factory reset setting as I clicked it before. But almost no important data was lost. All photos videos and documents remained. And for better or for worse the whole thing actually made my phone a lot faster...
Thank you so much.

[Q] TWRP Backups being deleted at boot

Using XtreSoLite ROM on a Galaxy S5. When I do a TWRP backup (default settings) and I target my external SD card (64GB SanDisk microSD), the backup succeeds and I can go back to the main TWRP menu and verify that the backup was created in a new folder called 'TWRP' on the SD card. However, once I boot into the system and get past the unlock screen, that TWRP folder is deleted from the SD card along with the backup.
All of the other files on the SD card are untouched, just anything to do with TWRP is removed.
Any idea what could cause this? I searched the thread for my specific ROM with no luck regarding this issue.
I have this issue as well running the stock rom. I also have the 64 gb card. Near as I can tell something about the way TWRP is writing the files to the file system (exfat) android doesnt like and corrects which removes the files. If I pull the card out of the phone before booting android I can see the files on the PC. The work around I'm currently using is to mount an external USB storage to do my backup, then copying the backup to the SD card in android.
..
Hey there guys...its happening to me as well and its annoying because you cant rely in your backups!
Any solution or just that SD take out workaround? Its kinda dangerous because you can corrupt the SD by doing this often!

I would say odins main use is for flashing stock tars after you get your phone stuck in brickloop after flashing something you shouldn't have .......very useful tool I must say.

My solution for this error:
--Device S5 mini G800F
--TWRP 2.8.1
--MicroSD 64Gb
--TotalCommander for android instaled.
Step by Step:
1. Boot in recovery mode.
2. Create and save your backup into extSDCard (TWRP/backups folder).
* Example: extSDCard\TWRP\BACKUPS\14001308b6ffd4cc\2016-01-01--01-01-01 XXXXX.YYYYYYYYYYYYY
-- 2016-01-01--01-01-01 XXXXX.YYYYYYYYYYYYY = my last backup folder name created automatically by TWRP.
-- 2016-01-01--01-01-01 = backup date and time
-- XXXXX.YYYYYYYYYYYYY = phone and rom model/version
3. Open File Manager in TWRP and copy your backup folder (2016-01-01--01-01-01 XXXXX.YYYYYYYYYYYYY) from extSDCard to internal memory.
4. Restart your phone (system restart in twrp).
5. Open TotalCommander and navigate to extSDCard/backup folder (extSDCard\TWRP\BACKUPS\14001308b6ffd4cc)
6. Create new folder and rename it with your backup name folder. *Example: extSDCard\TWRP\BACKUPS\14001308b6ffd4cc\2016-01-01--01-01-01 XXXXX.YYYYYYYYYYYYY
7. Go to internal memory (copied backup folder) and copy all files to created folder in step 6.
8. Restart in recovery mode, run file manager in TWRP and delete backup folder from internal memory.
9. Restart your phone (system restart in twrp).
10. Finish.
