Or you could pay for Sunshine, and then be able to RUU whatever you wanted to. But since you just want stock ATT follow the link. It has all you need.

Why would you want to go to the stock AT&T ROM if you are not on the AT&T network (and you are in Brazil)?
Just my opinion, Dev Edition 4.16 ROM is better all around, and especially if you are not on the AT&T network.

Because I read here that M8 improves battery autonomy with AT&T ROM, I would like try it.
Is not true?

Any claim that a certain ROM increases battery life can be misleading. Every person's usage and specific conditions is different, some folks will see better battery life, so will see worse. AT&T specific radios may make more of a difference, but only on AT&T's network.
I'm on the same Lollipop ROM as you (Dev Edition 4.16.1540) and battery life is great. I don't see any different between this and the AT&T stock 3.42 ROM.
Certainly not worth using "older" KitKat software. Plus be aware that AT&T software also blocks some useful features, like WiFi tethering; and contains a lot of annoying AT&T bloatware and branding.
I highly recommend staying away from stock AT&T ROMs, especially if you aren't even using AT&T as your cell carrier.

firewater was discontinued long ago last December.
sunshine is the current s-off method. But doesn't work with hboot 3.19 (which is probably what you have).

Thanks, man.
Was very helpful. This model wasn't sold in Brazil, so we don't have many developers working in M8.
I'm learning here in XDA, thanks again.

Probably for the best.
Do you have battery issues at this time? How long do you get on a charge, and how much screen-on time?
If you have short battery life, you might try some other battery saving tips. But with s-on, you won't be able to downgrade firmware or flash a different radio. And no s-off possible for you at this time.

Not at this time. Firewater used to work but it is discontinued (it wouldn't work with your version anyway.) $25 is the going rate. Just be glad they don't charge more (because they could.) I surprised you want to move away from the 5.0.1 Dev edition. I know many folks that move to this firmware. The baseband that comes with this one is the one I use and it gets the best reception for me (may be different for you though based on your area.) Oh and oddly enough, I run this firmware as well.

I agree. If the OP is looking to resolve a battery drain issue, there are probably better ways than to use "previous generation" software.
Its not even clear whether the OP really has a battery drain problem (I asked, they didn't answer). Or if this is just an instance of "the grass is greener on the other side of the fence" (looking for better, when what they have now is just fine).
My update on sunshine was simply meant to clarify that if the OP still wants s-off, its now possible. Not necessarily that they should s-off, or for that matter downgrade.

[Q] Anyone Have The WindMobile Amaze 4G Rom for Download?

Hey Guys,
I've had my T-Mobile Amaze 4G for almost a month now and HATE the bloatware on it. I really think it's killing my battery sooner than it should.
I am on WindMobile in Canada and Wind just released their Amaze 4G on Dec. 2nd.
Has anyone taken an image of Wind's stock ROM for the Amaze yet...and made it available for download?
I hear Wind has almost no bloatware and am wanting to use it.
The other Windmobile Amaze ROM's I've found on xda are all pre-release versions, hence I don't want to use them as I want to ensure I get the officially released ROM.
Thanks for all the help.
Cheers
Well, there are numerous solutions to your issue in question. If you flash any of the roms in the development section, most of them wont have any bloatware. If you'd rather stick with stock you can download root explorer (once your phone is rooted of course) and uninstall any offending apps from there. On my current rom i just got nearly two days worth of battery with light use without doing anything special to it =)
my bad x lol...
dude you guys got to search i have a wind rom and a ruu

Ya...but I'm not too comfortable removing apps when I don't know if they are somehow tied to other apps that will break something.
I'd prefer to go stock Wind ROM...if the released version exists somewhere...

Is it the pre-released...or released version?
Wind's official release was Dec. 2nd for their Amaze 4G.
Oh...BTW....I did search, and got zilch returned.
"Wind ROM" returned nothing for me.
But then again....my searching skill really suck....

But do you know with any degree of certainty if this is the Release version for Wind?...or a beta of some sort?

I have a Wind's Amaze, but without unlocked bootloader I've got no idea how to make a ROM backup. htcdev site refuses unlocking my bootloader
As for the bloatware - only Sense-integrated stuff presents.
By the way Sense 3.0 social networking integration looks pretty outdated - neither Google+ nor even Linked In present...

Much appreciated.
I really hope they start letting us root and unlock the bootloader. I got mine from WIND and really want to start putting some awesome custom roms on. Cmon HTC! Thanks xboarder56 for trying!
Ya...hopefully they'll unlock it soon.
Do you have the official Wind Amaze?
How is the battery life on that?
My T-Mobile has alot of bloatware that seems to be killing the battery.
From the time I wake up to the time I go to bed...I'm usually left with ~30% battery.
This is 1 reason I want the Wind ROM.

Can a T-Mobile user flash the wind mobile rom? I am really interested in getting rid of the T-Mobile bloat on the phone. Not interested in giving HTC my serial number though.

Yes...you can flash the Canadian Windmobile ROM, Telus ROM, or any ROM made for the HTC Amaze 4G.
Unfortunately...we have no choice (at present) but to use HTC's method to unlock the bootloader.
We can't flash other ROM's without unlocking the bootloader first (from what I understand reading the posts here on xda).
The Wind ROM adds a Facebook app of some sort and ringtones, the Telus ROM adds Skype and one other app that I can't recall at the moment....
But neither have the amount of bloat that T-Mobile's ROM has.
I thought it could be flashed from the ruu
That's not my understanding...but am not 100% sure what an ruu does exactly or what the requirements are to use an ruu.
From reading xda, you need a custom recovery to install an ruu.
In order to flash a custom recovery...you need unlock the bootloader.
..or am I just confused?
Maybe Xboarder56 can elaborate on this a little??
I second what can we do without the unlocked bootloader?

Official ICS Release for Rezound a bust?

I contacted Verizon this morning and asked if the ICS update rumors were for real. I was told that they have not heard and have no documentation on the official release.

Does it matter? The 3.14 leak is great. Any changes they made between that and the 'official' release will only make it better.
Yeah, but we all knew, or should have known, when a leak hit a couple days ago and wasn't the final release, that the 9th was wrong. There was serious reason to doubt it before that leak anyway. Just flash the new leak. It's great.
Yeah, not only will they deny it, but often the people you speak with will be uninformed or misinformed. I wouldn't bet either way at the moment. I wonder if Vegas keeps odd on this. I hear they'll do most anything. 20-1 the last leak was our official 10-1 we'll get anything today. I don't know not much of a gambler. Anyone got odds on it?

Calling Verizon for this is pointless. They are uneducated about pretty much every release, update, etc. We almost always know way before a Verizon rep knows.

Just got off with HTC. Get this, the guy said they don't know when updates will begin pushed out, only that the Rezound is on the list for ICS Update. BUT, he did say it's possible that an update could push out tonight and to watch my phone because it will notify me... How the hell do they NOT know when their own phone will get a software update???
I'm tempted to load a leak, but I need all the functions on my phone to work and it seems to me that all these new "leaks" still have some issues ie: camera not working, 4G/3G radios not consistent, Wifi drops, tethering issues... I'm running an unlocked, S-on, rooted, stock GB and things are working.. so I guess I'll wait because If I do update, and I lose functionality, I cant go back.

Is it only the international One that's getting the 5.5 update right now?
Or is the AT&T variant included in the current rollouts? Cause I haven't received it yet.

The current rollout is only for the INTL version. I wouldn't be surprised if ATT doesn't give you Sense 5.5, since they just updated to 4.3 with Sense 5 not terribly long ago. I'd guess IF they update to Sense 5.5, it won't be until after the MAX has been out for a little while. They have to have some incentive to get people to buy it...

I wouldn't root just for 5.5 unless there's something really specific you're wanting. BUT, I say root that sucker since you've had one before and you're used to it. It will open up a whole new world of One possibilities. And while s off is available I would definitely take advantage of it if you ever think you might want to root or tinker with roms and kernels.
I realize rooting and unlocking/s-off isn't for everyone, but if you're inclined to open up the doors to custom software, the development on this phone is UNBELIEVABLE, if you're watching the dev forums in this section I know it's not a lot of activity, but that's because once unlocked all the development in the regular HTC One section can be used.
As a sidenote: My phone and ATT network like the new firmware that was rolled out to the international version. I'm getting service inside the building where it was a dead zone before, although it's not a very strong signal, and my LTE speeds went up a lot, both upload and download. Just in case you do root it and you're wondering about that.

I thought the same about rooting but since I've always rooted my past android devices, I did. I have such a better experience rooted (using TB, Greenify + framework modules).
What makes me think to update sense 5 to 5.5, is if I have to delete everything like last time (RUU method) I might skip sense update.

Lack of Lollipop speculation

Could it be that verizon got so hammered from the issues surrounding the S5 update they are holding off on ours till they know its good
Not likely. I see Lollipop updates are released for other phones even the Galaxy S4.
I see people posting about how they're ready to give up on this phone because of the lack of update for one important feature. TBH, I don't blame them since I blame this entirely on Verizon. Serious lack of support here, and they couldn't even shoot a minor update for VoLTE. I'm just enjoying what I can with my phone and I'm on a two year contract anyway. If I were given the choice, I'd be grabbing the Z3 or Note 4 instead just because of more options. Until then, I do solidly hope there's something we can look forward to for just an update since it's already May now.
Exactly, figured today would be some sort of update since it's may the 1st and Friday which typically good things are always on Friday, lol. Just extremely annoyed when I need to look something up when I'm on the phone and can't.

It's funny how terribly unreliable Verizon's own network info is to their own employees. First it's claimed we'll have VoLTE for Q1 2015, and we're in the middle of Q2. And all Verizon can say is subscribe to so-and-so link to receive updates.
Still no known info...
Now you see why "root" is so important, had we had root by now we would have a custom ROM of Lollipop at least.
Verizon always sucks when it comes to stepchildren phones (top tier phone but not of the brand Verizon wishes to push).
VoLTE will be just like all of Verizon's brilliant ideas, buggy, uses more bandwidth and works far worse than analog ever did, and no one actually asked for it.
Bombard Verizon with request until VZW gets tired of it, scream loud and scream long, only way VZW seems to listen. :good:
Yup I've been Facebook messaging Verizon every day about advanced calling. Just to bug them
so the tmobile version just received lollipop and again still no words from verizon and even the international xperia z received lollipop now. wtf!???

No they wouldn't have been able to port another lollipop rom over just because you have root. Normally this is all you need for most devices but with the Z3, devs need the update to be released first before they can make roms for it.
The T-Mobile Z3 has been rooted for about a month and still has not seen one custom stock rom. Reason being lollipop hadn't been released yet by T-Mobile

Oh that's great news. I was hoping that since we had to wait so long that they would just skip 5.0 and jump to 5.1. So hopefully by the end of July or sometime in August we might see 5.1, I assume.

Like your optimism, thought I had read that when lollipop is rooted it needs a unlocked bootloader (Zygote was a temporary solution) cause you have to be able to flash a custom kernel to gain root, our phone's need an unlocked bootloader or we will be back in the same situation again, besides makes more sense to have an unlocked bootloader.

Pretty sure we just need a pre-rooted ftf. That is the way it worked with my Z2. As long as you have root and recovery you can flash the prerooted ftf without unlocking the bootloader.

Hope you are right, that would be nice.
It does sound possible from all the threads about the pre-root tool by zxz0O0.
Will have to wait and see.
Thought: why was there a root bounty when this was available?

Because I don't think you could flash anything without first having root on it. lol

Really, can you point out where it says you need to be rooted already: http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/tool-prfcreator-easily-create-pre-t2859904
Was this the method used to exploit root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784900

Read the first paragraph of the PRF Creator thread
"What is a pre-rooted firmware
A pre-rooted firmware is a firmware, which already includes root. This is for example important if you want to update the firmware to a version, where there is no public root exploit. To flash a pre-rooted firmware, you need a recovery menu. An unlocked bootloader is not required."
Root is required to install the locked dual recovery, hence you need to be rooted already.
Hm, just a small say here. I flashed back to the shipped firmware that our phones came with from last year (still rooted), and I'm seeing for sure the battery doesn't die as quickly as the current firmware that's out today. What I'm trying to say here is, I hope Lollipop is designed for better battery efficiency for our phones that does have it achieve a 2-day battery life sort of deal. I don't know exactly what it is that the current firmware is making our phone die faster, but I hope Verizon does some right in it.
Plus, this is already halfway through June. Total bullcrap nonetheless about the lack of update anyhow.

I felt the same way. So I did a factory reset from stock recovery, set everything up again but left it on the .44 update. The only xposed module I am using is gravity box and I disabled sync for google calendar and changed exchange sync to every hour rather than push. I'm using stamina mode with Extended Stand by, Extended Usage and Stamina Clock enabled. I sync a few google items and my outlook email. Location services are normally disabled. I've barely used my phone the past couple of days so this speaks more to what I am getting with it in stand by but I've been off the charger for 52 hours and 35 minutes and am at 52% battery remaining. My standby drain is ~.5% per hour. Which is pretty good.
edit: I'm on a moderate LTE signal most of the time, and used wi-fi for a few hours.

Working Roms List?

So the M9 in all its glory has been out a bit now, but as I am rocking the sprint M9, many roms aren't actually showing if they support our phone. I am still curious as to why certain roms cause data issues similar to the dead data we had in 5.0.2. I use Viper 3.5 and on occasion I experience this bug. In badboyz, it never seems to happen. I am just wondering if anyone's tested any rom/kernel combinations that do not cause problems. I am about at wits end with the phone and ready to jump ship to the nexus 5 2015 if it has the 620 SoC.

that's because our ROM is based on the Official Sprint RUU, not International...
lol, if you're gonna use a International ROM that added Sprint support, u can expect issues...it's not the phone itself.

No, I am well aware of that. I think we all get that feel to want to try new ROM's every now and then. Badboyz is the only reliable sprint rom/ONLY sprint rom we have atm. I think I just miss all the AOSP options I had with the M8. Viper states it has the base for the M9, but I see more often than not, the dead data issue we had a couple months back with it, despite having sprint functionality.

I retract my previous statement , I thought I read some where people were converting over to international WWE firmware on USA carriers. Thanks for clearing that up.
