[Q] SHIELD Tablet Twitch streaming port to Nexus 9 - Nexus 9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Question to whoever can answer: With the SHIELD tablet and Nexus 9 sharing the K1 SoC, is it possible to port over the Twitch streaming client?
I opted not to buy the SHIELD tablet because I wanted something a little bigger, and the Nexus 9 I felt was a better size, plus it's got the 64bit version of the K1.
Anyone have any ideas? I wouldn't even know where to begin...

Anybody's guess the shield is 32 bit, the n9 64 bit. Not an easy transition

Yeah I'd considered that, but I don't think all apps running on the N9 are 64bit, I think it's just 64bit ready, right?

[Q] Nexus 10 as Multitouch touchpad

I recently started coveting a Logitech Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad T650 @staples and was trying to find a way to do it with my nexus 10.
I stumbled upon the following app Appwhich looks to be exactly what I want to do with the added bonus of showing the windows 8 desktop, but the website is all in japanese and I cant figure out how to get it to work. I have tried some of the more standard programs but they lack the true multitouch experience and now that i've seen the screen capture I want it. Has anyone found a way to do this reliably?
OK I just tried the app and it works great. I just translated the page and found the download link. The actual software is in English.
Here is the 64 bit versions http://www.tnksoft.com/soft/phone/winmulti/touch_win7_64.zip
And the 32 bit http://www.tnksoft.com/soft/phone/winmulti/touch_win7_32.zip

I also tried that app and it doesn't work that great, its kinda laggy and slow, quality isn't realy good.
Splashtop or Unified Remote works better.
Yeah, after getting the app to work I was underwhelmed. Was looking for something more that I could use on my desk while looking at my monitor. Not while looking at the nexus.
I've been using the non-HD version on my Galaxy Nexus. Haven't tried this yet on the Nexus 10. It's not as great as a real multitouch trackpad, but the only important feature for me is two-finger scroll

[Q] tablet buying questions

I am looking into getting a android tablet for my upcoming school year. I currently have a dell inspiron 1521 as my main work horse machine for the school day and i have a dell optiplex 745 at home for a desktop, both run windows 8.1 and i am happy with them. However, i find a 15 inch laptop to be cumbersom at times. I also carry around a samsung galaxy player 4.0 running cyanogenmod 10.2 and it works fine, yet a 4 inch screen is a bit small. I want a quad core tablet with a snapdragon processor like the new nexus 7 but the problem is that i am weary of all of the touch screen and gps problems. is there another tablet out there that people would recomend over this or is there a bug fix in the works taht is coming out very soon.

Nexus 9 vs Raspberry pi2

Hi guys,
I have just Raspberry version 1 b+ and comparing kodi to both devices, I find our tablet nexus 9, blazing fast. Really impressed. Raspberry version 1 is so slow opening menus in kodi.
Does anyone has raspberry pi2 (latest version) and how is the speed comparing to nexus 9 browsing through the menus of kodi?
Last question. How can I stream kodi from nexus 9 to TV?

WTF are you talking about? rpi is a bottom end pile of crap board computer. Nexus 9 is a top of the line TABLET. These are not by any means comparable machines. rpi2 is not substantially different from rpi. Still a piece of crap that is priced way over its value.

chromebook choice

Reading so much things about Chromebook that I want now test by myself but which one should i buy...Acer R11, Asus flip, HP 14 ...lenovo ?
I'm loosing my mind... Could you help me to choice referring your experiences
Thanks
Asus Chromebook Flip because it has support for Android apps from Google Play Store.
older refurbs can work well
This might not be the direction you wanrt to go, but I liked the acer c720 (refurb).
Successfully ran crouton (trusty( on it (more like "briskly walked" crouton on it).
The version I had could not be reasonably upgraded from 2 GB of RAM.
I found a page about upgrading acer chromebooks, you can find it by searching for "How to upgrade the Acer C7 Chromebook" (i.r. noob, thus no link)
I then found an older c710-2834 (higher clock on previous-gen celeron), swapped in an SSD and added RAM to the spare slot.
I ended up with an ultraportable with 10 GB DDR3 and a 240 GB hard drive that actually runs crouton (occasionally even sprinting), at a very low cost.
The caveat is that the slightly more power-hungry processor along with upgrades trade off some of the battery life that the c720 had.
Whichever way you go, I hope it works out well for you.
Thanks for your answer... Asus chromebook flip is not available in France.... Only amazon us but no azerty keyboard... So the last one Chromebook out in France is Acer r11 with better CPU and same versatility.... Tablet mode, PC mode and one another.... It cost 299€
I don't know if chrome os will be fine for me but I'm searching for something different....I also saw that chrome os could be installed also under a raspberry pi 3.... So may be I could try this os under this device before buying one real Chromebook....
The new way to run android apps in native is interesting

If you have an old laptop sitting around, load CloudReady Chromebook clone software on it. I have a Dell 3010 Chromebox and I have CloudReady loaded on an old Dell 1545 laptop. CloudReady is nearly identical to a Chromebook. At least you can get the feel of a Chromebook before buying one.
CloudReady by Neverware. Free for individual use.

The HP Chromebook 11A is a good choice. It has got a great design and a powerful mediatek processor.
Yeah even I was reading about this Chromebook today. Great choice for budget users tbh. If you're still looking for a good chromebook, I'd also suggest the Lenovo Duet Chromebook. Both have fab mediatek chipsets and are under Rs. 26K. The Acer Spin 311 is good too.

Cheap PC choice

Hello,
When looking for a cheap PC or laptop that can run Windows 10 and 11 properly.
Which Benchmarks to watch first? What score must he have at least?
I often hear that you need a passmark of 3000 minimum
Thanks
A used Dell laptop... try this guy.

I'm running Windows 11 on a Surface Pro 6 and a 1st Gen Surface Laptop. The latter is a 4GB i5 machine and Windows 11 runs choppy.
My daughter ages wife each have Surface Laptop Go 8GB 256GB i5. The Surface Laptop Go is around $700 and Windows 11 runs pretty good on it.
Try Asus VivoBook.
I have one and Windows 11 runs pretty smoothly.
