Extract "SonyEntrance2" to /system/priv-app/
Change the permissions of all folders including subfolders to:
owner: root
group: root
chmod: 0755
Change the permissions of all files including those in subfolders to:
owner: root
group: root
chmod: 0644

Thanks guys, this is that what I needed
If you have your rom files still, you can grab open system.ext4 (system.img) within the zip/ftf and extract what you want using the tool at the bottom of this post. I actually needed "What's New" apk myself as I didn't realise application updates were moved there until reading a post somewhere else; I got it back using this way. I guess the only issue is if you don't know the apk name of the application you're after but Googling should help you there.

I would like to install them on non-touchwiz ROMs, if possible. I've read that they may not work on non-touchwiz ROMs.

SMemo will not work on nonTW roms as they are twframework dependednt..can't say about MyFiles..
However here are both the files for DLI8..
MyFiles.apk (2.5 MB)

Push them to /system/app and set permission to rw-r--r-- and reboot
zoot1 is right. there is a lot of interdependency between the TW framework and the S-apps.
The same goes for AllShare and a few other Samsung-specific apps.

Any replacement ? I am looking for an app that does the same as S memo.
I dont want an app to convert my handwriting to text. I want my notes saved "as-is".

To set permissions use a Root Explorer to push the apps to systems/apps then go to the file settings and it should have options to change the permissions, alternatively you can do all this through adb but that's more technical and coding but I prefer through adb or android terminal
Through android terminal:
su
CD systems/apps
chmod filename.apk 644
That's if you pushed the files already
You need root you could always use Google for this stuff too lol
I use color note not for handwriting much but it gets the job done alternatively just use a picture editor to write notes I don't really know if any note apps

U need root, and a file explorer with r/w to system i recommend Simple Explorer or Solid Explorer File Manager
U must extract *.rar, delete AccuweatherPhone2013.apk and AccuweatherPhone2013.odex from /system/app/ and place the one u extracted there.
Set permissions to 0644 -rw-r--r-- and owner/group to 0:0 root/root like in screenshots

I did try something similar in S2 days, the results dont really match the expectations, you have to consider the screen size, resolution and dpi in this case.

In your earlier post I have given the link for stock Samsung IME. Apk and its .odex file . please give proper permissions to it and check.
Also if you are unable to use it search for Shafta keyboard in XDA. it's a nodded version of google keyboard with number rows like Samsung keyboards. Also you can set your preferred language in settings.
Check if it helps you

download the attached .zip file

extract it on your sdcard. it contains the .apk file as well as its .odex file. it might be possible that you must have deleted the .odex file from the system folder also. it is necessary to have the .odex file in the syatem folder for stock odexed rom apps.
Use Root explorer. mount the system as R/W.
copy both the files to system/app/
give permissions as rw-r--r-- (see the image for permissions)
reboot the phone .
if not possible with the above, then download this app from the link below and install it

however i checked there is a folder fonts on root of system which contains alot files. which are .ttf
so please let me know the way to get these attached fonts working.
Edit: i created folder and pasted apk. set permissions and buah.....!!!

Im on xxx v5.0. It is located in the root folder. Use root explorer.
