Hello,
When I click on a link in my email using Gmail, Google Voice reads the link. It is really enerving.
Google Voice reads some other unrequested texts, such as in Amazing Alex app, and probably some other I didn't notice.
Thank you !

Bump
Go into settings-> application manager-> Google voice and select clear defaults should do the trick

No problem, believe me I can't even begin to describe half the stupid stuff I've done with my phone
Hi,
I would like to share you with this application.
It's called DisableService.
Not only did it solve my GPS Daemon problem but it has also improved my battery quite a bit!
Disable Service helps you to disable services running in the background such as "push service" ,"upload service" or "pull ad service" and so on.

Pair it with Wakelock Detector to analyze and maximize on what you can do with the application.

Added some screenshots. Notice that I have low network signals.
Which services did you disable to some your gpsd problem and improve battery life ?

Thanks for the app.
Would be nice if we could make a list of services that we can disable.
I have media server problems, anyone know what's the service name.

Mine was GTalk.
Go to System Apps/Google Services Framework
Disable GTalk. That was my GPSd problem. I recommend using Wakelock Detector from Pkay Store first if that was not your problem.

It will depend on your application usage. Basically I disabled everything safe running on my background.
What kind of Media Server problems? Can you elaborate? Screenshot if possible.
Why you didn't try greenify? The general wake locks are from google search/now, google maps.
I get no battery drain after this.

I already have Greenify and Greenify Donate Version.
The problem is, it's located at the Google Services Framework and the GTalk wakelock is like Airdroid, even if you hibernate it won't.
I don't know if it's still an issue in Greenify now but I froze mine.
Thanks so much, the app is amazing , at least I can disable unwanted services like checking for updates and so on ...
but I have a question, does disabling gtalk service have any effect on push notifications like whatsapp or facebook notifications ?
I'm sorry I cannot help you but I can tell you that I do disable Gtalk service and Whatsapp has no problem.

Is gmail and hangout works after it is disabled?

Hello everyone,
I tried no of things to clear gpsd wakelock to stop consuming battery.
I found one file in system bin, I deleted from root browser, good thing is gpsd doesn't occur in wakelock detector and even in battery screen.
But what I am facing the peoblem is phone gets switched off and will not start with power key. Need to remove battery and then restart aftrt installinh battert. Plz advise whether is did wrong job by deleting gpsd from directory or this kssue is something else.
Awaiting for valaued comments
Hello,
Here are some screenshots of my betterbatterystats and the battery history. Anyone have ideas on how to reduce these wakelocks? Also, I have noticed that my screen on time is pretty low yet the battery drained almost down to 0. Such a big increase in such a small amount of wake time (I only browsed the web and watched 2 videos. Any help is appreciated. Btw, from 100 to 97 the on screen time was 15 mins.
Anyone?
I can't help with your specific situation but many people are having issues with Google play services eating up battery. A Google search will return many results.
Only suggestion I have is to disable location services. Although I don't see how it would be relayed to gtalk reconnecting. Sorry

I already have disabled that. Updated OP with full day analysis.

Then you need to post your question in the BBS thread; they've seen every issue you can think of and will be able to give you some guidance.

Is there a way to transfer the pics or will I have to reload them?
I saw an XDA article talking about the app greenify and how great it was. It essentially hibernates apps so they're not running in the background and was made to copy what the iphone does. I use it but can't tell if it actually helps and don't know of any other app like it.
My question is does anyone use this app? Or another one like it?
If you use it, do you see significant results?
I just wanted to see other peoples' experiences.
Thanks

Yeah, this app will prevent other apps from waking up your phone. So if you don't care about notifications for that app then you can "greenify" it, so that it will not be able to perform automatic tasks in the background.
It does save some noticeable battery life.
I use it too. It's been great for keeping Google Maps' battery suckage down, though the newest update to Maps is supposed to help with that. (I personally refuse to update it, so I'm still on the last version.) It also keeps other apps that may be constantly working in the background from waking up your phone.
I have Google Maps, Pulse, Walgreens, Amazon Appstore, DeskSMS, Google+, and Words With Friends hibernated in mine.

long story short it's generally considered on xda to be the best battery saving apk, even if you just use it for maps and Facebook.

Good to know
I ran Greenify for awhile but didn't understand it and couldn't tell if it helped at all. These posts give me a better idea of it function. I'll load it again and set it up better and get back here if I get a better idea of its benefits. Thanks for posting.
I like it alot. I don't need notifications for emails constantly so I stopped that. Battery life is improved from greenifying other things like maps and Facebook as well.

Well if you don't want the app to poll for emails all the time you can just turn off sync for the email apps.

Facebook is a powerful little B. It (and it's messenger) wreak havoc on phones. Probably the worst battery and resource hog on about any android phone.
Yet, I don't uninstall it

I searched the whole forum and didnt find any answer about it,so here I go.
1-If I have facebook open and click in Hibernate Now Widget I get a message that facebook was hibernated .But I didnt kill the background task in recent apps window. What happens ? Facebook keeps working in the background or it had beeing successfully hibernated ?
2-Can i Greenify Knox ? Is it safe ? BEcause in Greenify app, Knox is in the table that may be consuming battery when its running.
Thank you guys in advance.
