Hello Guys. I have a SAMSUNG (WCDMA) galaxy S II GT i9100 (CMIIT ID: 2011CP2751)
Is from Koreea, original device. I rooted this phone using odin, i flashed a european firmware, because on his original firmware i had restrition on apps. Recently, i gave him hard reset (wipe data factory reset, wipe cache) and after rebooting,he shows me the steps for configuration (language, wifi, samsung account, etc) and at this time it rebooting and is stuck on samsung logo. Now i have to flash again but i don t know baseband version. I downloaded a firmware and shows me FAIL when i flashed with odin. I need this baseband version. Cand i find if i know the IMEI ? or can anybody help me?
I think you can find 'the best match' using chimera software which has sort of a firmware search for your phone's serial (11 characters long).
Your phone serial should be under your battery, somewhere near the IMEI.
If you want to use chimera, after you've registered, logged into the software and all that annoying stuff connect your phone, and after it gets recognized go to "Firmware Update" and complete the "serial number" field press "Autodetect latest" and it should give your some sort of a match. At least that worked for me.
Or PM me with the serial if you want to skip all the registering stuff because I already have a working account.

you are correct ranger
Try removing your sd card. Small chance that it may be causing the issue. Why would someone remove the info stickers? Is it stolen?

Hi everyone,
I just flashed my phone for the first time from 4.3 Stock to Cyanogenmod 11 (Snapshot M10) following these steps :
Using ClockWorkMod I backed up all my device.
In recovery mod I did a factory reset
I installed from sdcard the CM11 file
I installed from sdcard the GApps file
Reboot
After 1-2min, before I can do anything (reconfigurate my "new" phone"), I have to log on my phone via SIM's PIN.
Even with the right PIN, I have a "login on the network" screen and can't do anything.
At this point, I though it would be a network (modem ?) issue
I disconnected the SIM and rebooted the phone and here is what I figured out :
IMEI is OK (the same on both Stock and CM11)
Serial Number is broken (different from Stock)
I've searched on the forums but I couldn't find some people with the same problem : generally IMEI and Serial Number are both broken
I have no clue how to restore the serial number only.
Would a EFS restore do the trick ?
For information, I don't know if that's relevant : my device is a Samsung Galaxy SIII i-9300, and I live in France, using Orange as provider.
Thank you for your help
PS : I just restored my phone via the backup I did. All works fine (but I'm back on 4.3 :/ )
There are problems with the recent CM11. Try another CustomRom: AOKP-, Omni-or TW-based.
First flash full stock room with Odin, if serial not recovered then restore your efs backup.
Once it's all working again then start custom flash again.
Hello Everyone!
Today I received an SG-S III (GT-I9300) TMH-locked phone from my friend. No root detected.
Exactly I don't know the story of reason of errors.
Came to hand sympthoms: no network, bad IMEI number (004999...), no S/N and a very weird black/yellow square at home screen with some datas of the phone. (see the attached file, please). Steps as repairing as follows:
1., New MODEM via ODIN (XXLF5_REV02_CL1147871). Nothing happened, same problems here.
2., New complete SW via ODIN (XXALF5/TMHALF1/XXLF5). Nothing.
3., nv_data manipulation (posted method here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/how-to-repair-imei-gt-i9300-t1845660/page4). Nothing.
4., Complete S/N and IMEI writing with Chimera. This was successful. Now IMEI and S/N is OK. But: no network! (Can't register on network).
5., Complete new original SAMSUNG firmware. IMEI and S/N henceforward OK, but no signal. And the weird square is still here after the complete boot.
6., Disassembled, hardware tested...nothing unusual at first look.
I haven't got more ideas. What can I do so far?
Any good ideas, tips, crotchets?
Thank you in anticipation for any/odd ideas.

hi Guys,
First, I apologize for that I'm doing the hundredth post on this topic
and secondly, I apologized for my "google translator english" (unfortunately I can not so good English because I am from Germany)
to my problem
I had the "Cyanogenmod 11 nightly" ROM on my Samsung Galaxy S 3. By the time the system was slow and I have flashed the latest CyanogenMod Rome via Odin on my phone. After the reboot, I had no connection to the mobile network, my serial number consisted entirely of zeros and my IMEI was not like it is in the battery compartment.
I have now spent several days trying to find a solution but for all IMEI Restore tutorials have not brought with me. Unfortunately, I did not know much about even before the Android system per se and the EFS folder and have therefore no backup.
I tried the IMEI
restore the NV_data.bin + NV_data.bin.md5 methodResult: IMEI was still so wrong seem right that my IMEI is no longer located in the System
restore with the downgrade to a German MG6 Android versionResult: IMEI was still not rightrestore using tools like QPST + nv ReaderWriter or EFS ProfessionalResult: EFS Professional -> Qualcomm NV Tools (after efsprofesional the mobile phone has put into the correct USB mode) -> connect to my phone broke off as soon as I wanted to read or write
QPST + nv ReaderWriter -> gave me appear not correct port on my phone
all the drivers I have installed clean and tidy. After further investigation, I found out that I need a special UARTcable this (and maybe a Z3X Box or something similar?)
My question is
How can I get now establish a new nv_data.bin file that includes my right IMEI
or whether (if it is really expensive) someone is so net and created me such a file
my Hardware is Samung Galaxy s 3 (i9300) (unbranded) (may u need this too: i bought it in germany)
I only want my own IMEI and I do not think out a like or I like to personally via PN or so to sample photos (for example, a predetermined word from the person) and the battery compartment of the phone with the IMEI
for I illigalität knows that it is illegal but not his own restore its IMEI change, because you paid a lot of money for his mobile phone and the IMEI is jointly contain. Who's afraid these publicly to write here because this information could be misused can I enjoy writing via private message. I would be very happy
Now im trying again to solve my problem with this Tutorial -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XT42ri37RBU
my preperations:
im installing now a fresh windows 7 on my Laptop
i flashed I9300XXUGNG3_I9300DBTGNG2_I9300XXUGNA8_HOME.tar.md5 (SGS3 Stock Firmware DBT with android 4.3) downloaded with the SamFirm tool from http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647
i rooted my phone with Odin3 and CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.tar.md5
i put the usb debugging on (settings > options > about device > [clicked 7 times on Buildnumber] that activates the developer menu and i put usb debugging on in settings > options > developer options > usb debugging)
i´ll post the results
dont work for me becouse "ONLY for US variants. It DOES work on Qualcomm CPU and DOESN'T work on Galaxy International Version with Exinos CPU!"
someone maybe got antoher way to fix it?
@sLeCks:
1. Flash last firmware with Odin (again), go to recovery immediatly and do factory reset.
2. If 1. doesn't help, try Ariza patch.
3. If 2. doesn't help, let it repair by Samsung-service (cheap).
Firmware Update dont restored IMEI (got still 0049 imei)#
Ariza patch wont help it just restore the baseband (like written in the Thread "wont help if u goot a 0049 imei)
maybe it works if someone got a i9300 (intl) (exynos NOT Qualcomm) and a z3x-box or another. i send him my right imei-number he backup his efs folder and create the right nv_data.bin file for me. then he send it to me via email or he put it on uploadet in ecample. i download it in put it on my phone and restore my imei.
maybe i think is a full efs.img backup file better xD. if this way work it would be the best i think.
Ißve called some mobile reperature stations an mony of then dont do an imei-restore. i got one and go now to him maybe he can help. but if someone got a box and a old sgs3 i would be sooooooo happy if he could help me.
Okay,where do I start.
So I bought this phone off a friend of a friend(I was going to sell it on for profit as it was a good deal).
I noticed when trying to update that it was telling me it was an unauthorised software, so i took it the device was rooted.
I then factory reset the device to see would it go back to factory settings, but just stayed on the custom firmware.
I then decided to flash stock firmware onto the device from Sammobile (device boots up with Three logo so I assumed it was with Three Ireland network so that's the firmware I chose.
After flashing the device it boot up with a dm verity error and would only go as far as the Three logo. After some research I found a discussion and followed the steps in this, flashing a file called CF-Auto-Root-zerolte-zeroltexx-smg925f. After doing this the dm verity error had gone and the phone booted up fine.
I left the phone like this, as I was going to sell it at a later date. Before I sold it I had one last test of the device and noticed it would not connect to a mobile network (I don't think this issue was there when I first got the phone as I am nearly sure I tested my sim card in it, but cant be sure). I just kept getting 'not registered on network' error.
After some more research I downloaded the Samsung info app and ran it. I then noticed a few strange things.
1). The serial number of the device was just showing up as a string of 0's.
2). The imei number that was listed did not match the imei on the back of the phone.
3). The carrier was showing as O2 UK, but Im not sure if this is an issue as O2 and Three are basically the same network here in Ireland (Three took over O2 here).
After doing an imei check, I found the imei listed on the back of the phone to be fine and was showing all the right details, serial number etc. But the imei that was listed as the imei of the phone, in settings and using *#06# was showing up as not existing.
I found this very strange and I'm sure this has something to do with why it can't connect to a network.
Any suggestion on getting this device back working properly as it is just a paperweight now as it is, and after spending money to buy it so I could sell it on I don't want to have wasted that money for nothing.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Nothing? ?
