[Q] [How To] Hot to boot in fastboot Sony Xperia P - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

I am trying to unlock my bootbloader but I can't seem to get my phone to boot into fastboot. I have tried the official method posted through the Sony Developer site and It says to Hold the power button + Volume down at the same time and plug it into your computer. And when I do this, a blue light should come on notifying me that I'm in fastboot mode. But no matter how much I try this, my phone simply just changes its state to charging. Can someone please help me out?

when you get into bootloader you have to hit the power button once to get into fastboot mode. try all in one toolkit run the command follow the on screen instructions if it says waiting for device hit the power button once and it should start

did you press power button once
I encountered a similar issue when I tried to flash a new rom. I have 2 computers, one with Windows 8 and the other with Windows 7. I found that I couldn't get adb working on the Win8 PC but it worked nicely on the win7.
You should also make sure your USB Cable is good and not plugged into any USB Hub or USB 3.0 plug
Best to plugin to the motherboard directly. I learned this the hard way one day with a USB Hub. Nothing worked till i unhooked the Hub from the PC
I have no problems in windows 8 now

[Q] Xperia U will not boot into fastboot or flashmode

Hi,
My Xperia U will no longer boot into fastboot or flashmode. I connect the cable while holding the volume up button and the led comes on for around 2-3 seconds, but then turns off. I have tried on different computers (windows 8 and 7), I have flashtool and all the correct drivers installed, but it still doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

Meaning it did before with the same drivers installed?
Is it completely off? Try taking the battery out for a minute.

If possible I suggest to test with another phone or alternatly on another computer that is known to work properly with another phone.
Can you think of anything that was intsalled on those computers since last time it was ok?

No I don't think there was anything that could have done that. Unfortunately I don't have any other phones to test with.

Finally got it working! The problem was that all the ports that I had tried, even on the other computer, turned out to be usb 3.0. I just managed to get it working on another computer with usb 2.
Thanks for all your help ChikeD.

Can you boot into "Fastboot" mode? (tab off, hold Vol- and connect USB cable, led should turn blue, if not try Vol+ and connect USB cable)
Either way this should check and see if you can communicate a little bit.

I'm using CM12, so I don't know what exactly you have to do (never did that myself) , but I guess:
- Get a ftf-file for your tablet
- Install Sony drivers and Flashtool on your PC
- Flash ftf with Flashtool
Google is your friend have fun

Glad it's working.
Remember, if you can get it into fastboot mode, then chances are you can always flash a system image or an ftf file.

Question [SOLVED] Bricked trying to remove modified warning

Hello i wanted to root and unlock my SM-T220 and did all of that and then tried to remove the warning by overwriting up_param from termux
That resulted in bootlooping with only backlight on
Then i tried recovering using MTK SP Flash but now it only shows up as MTK usb device cant even get to bootloader, is the tablet toast?
Can you boot it to EDL?
You shouldn't have done it with Termux anyways since it was fully booted from the beginning.

I unlocked the bootloader, i've opened the device up so i think i did
Does the screen come on at all when you power it up?
If it does, put it in download mode:
Power device off completely with no cables connected
Hold both Volume buttons, do not press Power, connect USB cable from PC
Device should start in download mode
Reflash firmware using Odin
