when you get into bootloader you have to hit the power button once to get into fastboot mode. try all in one toolkit run the command follow the on screen instructions if it says waiting for device hit the power button once and it should start

did you press power button once

I encountered a similar issue when I tried to flash a new rom. I have 2 computers, one with Windows 8 and the other with Windows 7. I found that I couldn't get adb working on the Win8 PC but it worked nicely on the win7.

You should also make sure your USB Cable is good and not plugged into any USB Hub or USB 3.0 plug
Best to plugin to the motherboard directly. I learned this the hard way one day with a USB Hub. Nothing worked till i unhooked the Hub from the PC
I have no problems in windows 8 now

Dead phone?

Hey guys.
I was installing a rom on my phone (which I have done many times before). It was the CM 10.1 rom this time around. I got it installed per instructions and then I got the boot loop. I Figured, no biggy, been through this before. So I pulled the battery and went to boot back into the boot loader (vol - and pwr) and I get nothing. The phone wont turn on at all. It does nothing when I put in the charger as well (no led, etc). Did I some how get bricked?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Strange.
when you connect your device to the charger is there atleast a red dim light? you will have to look closely.
You might also wanna try a different charger or connect your phone to your computer and see if it recognizes it.

No dim light. The computer dings when I plug it in, but adb can't do anything with it.
Connect your device to your computer again and on your computer go to (guessing your on windows) Start- Computer. If you see this "QHSUSB_DLOAD" under devices with with removable storage then your phone is bricked. Theres still hope.. You can try unbricking your device from the two options listen bellow.
Dexter's HTC Unbricking Project.
Closeone's HBOOT Downgrade Toolkit Live
Closeone's guide you can skip the bricking steps because well your device is already bricked..

Thanks for the Help Astrikz. I tried the 2nd method with the CD and it just sits there with "Waiting for device". I do have QHSUSB_DLOAD in windows, so it is bricked. But it must be REALLY bricked. Bummer.

[Q] Xperia U will not boot into fastboot or flashmode

Hi,
My Xperia U will no longer boot into fastboot or flashmode. I connect the cable while holding the volume up button and the led comes on for around 2-3 seconds, but then turns off. I have tried on different computers (windows 8 and 7), I have flashtool and all the correct drivers installed, but it still doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

Meaning it did before with the same drivers installed?
Is it completely off? Try taking the battery out for a minute.

If possible I suggest to test with another phone or alternatly on another computer that is known to work properly with another phone.
Can you think of anything that was intsalled on those computers since last time it was ok?

[Q] [How To] Hot to boot in fastboot Sony Xperia P

I am trying to unlock my bootbloader but I can't seem to get my phone to boot into fastboot. I have tried the official method posted through the Sony Developer site and It says to Hold the power button + Volume down at the same time and plug it into your computer. And when I do this, a blue light should come on notifying me that I'm in fastboot mode. But no matter how much I try this, my phone simply just changes its state to charging. Can someone please help me out?

I had this exact issue, adb worked properly when phone was on, and in fastbootd as well but in regular fastboot the phone wasn't detected at all, turned out the issue was the usb-c cable I was using, so be sure to try another one if you have it already, but before you go out and buy an extra usb-c cable check if there's any warnings about the driver in your device manager, I hear that's also a possible cause.

Question Phone dead

I was trying multiple firmwares on my Xperia 1 iii and suddenly at a point the phone did not have any les indicator, did not turn on, did not show any error message or display. It’s more like it doesn’t recognise anything at all. When I connect it to my pc it says somc flash device. Also when I connect it and try holding the power button for about 20 seconds, I hear a disconnect sound and the somc on the device manager disappears. Then after a second or two without me doing anything the connect sound comes and it reappears. If I try to flash with new flasher it says no device found.
Things I’ve tried
1. Charging the phone for durations ranging from 20 mins to whole night
2. Trying to hold power and volume up button or down button or both for 20 seconds or two minutes
3. Leave it untouched and try after some time
4. Most other things on coda or google
At this point it’s just a paper weight. Sony isn’t available in India so no scope of warranty. I’m open to opening and fiddling with the device internals given at this point it’s as good as dead. Please help

Haha I know. Have had a lot of phones till now all of which I had rooted. So probably I was like whatever happens I can flash again. This is a new situation though so kind of broke my confidence. I did try Xperia companion. Didn’t detect my phone though. Any other ideas like opening up the device? Could it be the battery cos the port seems fine as it’s detected

Boot up and flashing takes a fair amount current. If the battery can't supply it...
Don't attempt to flash it with a low or bad battery as it could corrupt it.

Replace the battery, charge to 100% and try the different solutions.
Make sure the port and cable are 100% A-ok.
The firmware end of it I know very little especially Sony. If Samsung keeps screwing up my next phone could be a Sony.

When you said Xperia Companion is not detecting your phone, have you checked in Device Manager if Windows actually detects a device plugged in? Could be SEMC and other names, don't remember what they stand for.
I guess you've already tried another usb port and a different cable?
